| Every day I read or hear pundits spending energy telling us the Tea Party is dead. Daily. Repeatedly. If we were dead, we´d have about as much media time as, oh, Michael Dukakis. However, our principles of limited government and fiscal responsibility are starting to actually resonate. All it took was a simple expiring 2 percent payroll tax hike to destroy four years of "government for free" fiction. Anyone else notice that "fiscal cliff" tax hikes have already been consumed by the spending for Superstorm (aka a "weak Category 1 for Floridians") Sandy?

Do you actually think there is a political solution to this dilemma?? With massive segments of the population on the dole, your government arming itself against its own citizens, a military training to take over domestic control, a ruler governing by decree, a congress largely bypassed and without the spine to stand up for any principle beyond its own grandeur, and a supreme court which can´t seem to read or understand the Constitution, and at least 57 other insurmountable issues. Folks, we´ve already stepped off the cliff.

America is very large, very rich in natural resources, rich also in the attitudes of many people...mostly people outside the cities, and some getting older...but there are a lot of people who figure that they WILL live free.
We have no historical heritage of generations of serfdom, and we have sloughed off our brief heritage of enslavement of Blacks. We DO have a historical heritage of a "can do" and "never give up" pioneer background. We DO have a historical heritage of our parents, grandparents, great-grandparents making huge sacrifices and taking a big chance to transport themselves and their children to this new country...arriving with no job and, if one is not found soon, no money.
No-one should give up on America. No-one should underestimate America. This is NOT Germany, or Japan. Americans aren´t real good at taking orders, but we are real good at getting to work and at being incredibly stubborn.
This land is too big, and our people have hearts too big for anyone to underestimate us.

Is there anyone remaining with an IQ above room temperature who actually believes that the Republican Party believes in limited government, as defined by the U.S. constitution? If so, they have either been hibernating or have been in complete self-denial. Every election cycle the Republican Party counts on its “conservative base” to dutifully turn out and mark their ballot for whatever candidate has been selected by the GOP leadership. We are told ad infinitum that doing so will keep the Democrat liberal demons from furthering their agenda. The inside-the-beltway establishment has been chanting this mantra for years

People continually complain that with the different faces who have disgraced the Offices of the President and Vice President, the one hundred (100) seats within the Senate and the four hundred thirty-five (435) seats within the House of Representatives, nothing improves for the masses, only for those who are elected and special interests. This is frustrating and we need to assess why, so we can change this ‘continuing resolution’. It appears that the GOP and the Democrat Party have merged.

Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) has been front and center during the latter days of the sequestration showdown, which is good, because he literally wrote the book on government waste. He produces a new edition of his “Wastebook” every year, chronicling the most absurd abuses of taxpayer money. It is wise for Republicans to bring up these horror stories when Obama is racing around the country and insisting that a 2.3 percent reduction in the rate of government growth means we can’t have firefighters or border security. A series of shootings this weekend has Chicagoans on edge. A total of 11 separate shootings since Friday night have resulted in seven deaths and at least 30 injuries in the Windy City. The victims range in age from 16-years old to 40-years-old, according to multiple media reports. Iran is preparing to send 4,000 troops in to Syria to support Syrian President Bashar al-Assad in the wake of America´s announcement it will be providing ´military aid´ to the country´s Muslim rebels.
