Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee Claims
to be a ‘Freed Slave,’ Opposes
All Government Spending Cuts

Texas’ national treasure speaks on history and the current state of government spending. Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) urged her colleagues to reach a compromise to prevent spending cuts through sequestration, arguing that government programs are already as lean as they can be. “We’re at the bone almost, and sequester, that is across-the-board cuts, will literally destroy us and put us in a recession,” she said on the House floor Wednesday. She called on Republicans to meet Democrats at the negotiating table and rejected the idea that President Obama delivered a partisan State of the Union address Tuesday night.

Comments:
And this dimwit will be one of the ones screaming loudest and longest when everything comes crashing down. Good grief what an idiot.

Someone remind this "freed slave" that the other "freed slave" was responsible for signing off on sequestration.

So all other races who need assistance can just punt because ´freed slaves´ automatically go to the front of the line? What about the blacks who are not descended from slaves (there were freemen even back to colonial times? Or the native Americans, who were frequently enslaved in the Spanish colonies? Or the Chinese coolies? Or the indentured servants of all races, including whites? Or the unpopular immigrants (Irish, Italian, and other Southern Europeans) who were exploited and abused when they came here. This racist "witch" makes me sick with her constant demands for special privileges for blacks at the expense of all other races.

I was hoping that the Dems would have to play choose the minority for the protected seat during the redistricting following the 2010 census. They might have, but the Dems took them to court to force 2 protected seats, one for Sheila and one for a Hispanic.

The bad news is she is only in the top 5 dumbest people in our House. Her district (5th ward)is rampant with 6-8-10 people living in a 1 bedroom house and all voting every election. You go to the house and there is only 1 bed and an 85-year-old woman living there.

But democrats do not cheat in elections...

This woman is an embarrassment whose continuance in office confirms every negative stereotype and whose public comments invariably make one wince. There are others like her. It is discouraging to realize that they have constituencies. Of course, the liberal news media does its best to protect them. Like Obama, they are affirmative action hires. They are not held to the same standards as others.

If Ms. Jackson thinks she is a freed slave, she should contact the Freedman´s Bureau for assistance. (See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedmen´s_Bureau for details).

On second thought, she already has. She thinks the Federal government is and ought to be a vast modern day Freedman´s Bureau. She may have a point. There are a lot of citizens who are unwilling or unable to cope and take care of themselves. They definitely need assistance of some kind. Putting them on welfare and signing them up for food stamps does not begin to address the root of the problem but merely perpetuates their difficulties. A true Freedman´s Bureau modeled loosely on the one of Reconstruction days might be a start.

I´m willing to give Texas a pass on SJL. I think it´s kinda like a pet owner who keeps a really, really stupid, clumsy old dog around out of an excess of kindness, knowing how wrong it´d be to saddle someone else with the mutt, and being too kind to put it down.

That said, a couple suggestions: a. we need to have a CDC established. No, a different group, but same initials -- the Congressional Dumb Caucus. b. Members of the CDC will be prohibited from introducing or voting on any measure that affects, applies to, or uses tax money from any citizen not resident in the Member´s District.

Oh -- and reflecting the lighter workload, they´ll: be paid minimum wage; get $500-a-year in allowance for staff, travel, and office expenses; not be eligible for the Members´ healthcare benefits; or accrue retirement credits from their office-holding.

Agreed?

#23: No, sorry, wrong again. It isn´t Guam´s "buoyancy" that´s been worried over. It´s Guam´s metacentric height.

However, she has made the "Texas Monthly" mag´s Bum Steer Award list for as long as I can remember. (I wonder if she keeps them on her home fireplace mantle or in a shelf in her, ahem, congressional office? Seriously, I´m sure she thinks they are an HONOR!)

And, no, I don´t think there are actually "Bum Steer" trophies given out, although it would be WAY cool if there were.

#29: You join a large club.

Metacentric height is a critical part of naval architecture. Very roughly analogous to roll center in a car. It´s a dynamic condition/value; a ship´s hull rolling on its long axis if well designed gets self-righting force from changes in the relationship of center of buoyancy, center of gravity, and metacentric height, roughly. I use a seat-of-pants version when I build my large radio-controlled model ships. It´s worth looking into for the practical physics. Interesting.

She toe the line for Massa 0bama and gets to stay up in da big house while all dem field N----s do the pickin´. If she hears about any uprisings, she be the first to tell Masa all about it so she can stay in the big house.

"Thank God" an exhausted elderly woman who survived the devastating tornadoes in Oklahoma exclaimed as her beloved dog emerged from the rubble of her house - live on camera. CBS News was interviewing Barbara Garcia shortly after a massive tornado demolished her house with her and her dog inside. She was in the middle of telling reporter Anna Werner about how she survived the storm, but she couldn´t find her dog - until he miraculously appeared in the debris right behind her. The Democratic Party´s edge over the GOP on who the public trusts more on ethics and corruption issues has flipped in the wake of the IRS and Benghazi scandals, according to Rasmussen Reports. Not only do voters trust Republicans more now, they have their highest level of confidence in the GOP and the lowest level in Democrats in seven months. While the Democrats had an eight-point "trust advantage" over Republicans a month ago, Rasmussen´s latest poll said that edge has disappeared and now the GOP has a two-point advantage. Danger. Danger. Al Qaeda’s Syrian wing also known as “rebels” bent on overthrowing Syria’s President Bashar al-Assad (mirroring the Saudi, the Obama administration and Republican Senator John McCain’s position), have taken over the oilfields that once belonged to Assad. If that wasn’t bad enough it gets worse. We are a hair trigger away from World War III. Reportedly Assad is preparing missile strikes against Tel Aviv if Syria is attacked again. Meanwhile, back in Obama’s America, don’t call Libya’s weapon recovery program “buyback” that then Secretary of State Hillary Clinton funded using $40 million of your tax dollars

The current scene doesn´t look so great. We´ve got the Benghazi scandal, which Bob Woodward has compared to Watergate, we´ve got the IRS scandal, where Democratic members of Congress are saying the IRS director lied, we´ve got the FBI AP-snooping scandal, we´ve got the HHS "private donation" shakedown scandal, and, of course, there´s the still-unfolding Pigford scandal that has funneled billions to grifters. It seems like everything is in tatters. And, in a way, it is. But serious as these problems are, they´re all short-term things. So while at the moment a lot of our political leaders

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

In Tuesday´s Senate hearings into the ever-widening IRS scandal, outgoing IRS chief, Steve Miller, acknowledged that the planted question that broke the story last week was his idea. The "planted question" refers to the way in which the IRS chose to release the findings of the Inspector General´s report a week ago Friday. It was an unusual way to deliver bad news, even in a town known for its selective leaks, Friday-night news dumps and wag-the-dog distractions. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”
