They don´t call her the First Lady of Fashion for nothing. And last night, As Michelle Obama played host to honoured guests at her husband´s State of the Union address, she proved that she can do glamorous power dressing with the best of them. Wearing a shimmering crimson and black cocktail dress by Jason Wu, she looked every inch the perfect politician´s consort. Wu of course is one of Michelle´s most trusted designers. He not only designed the white gown she wore for her debut as First Lady at the President´s inaugural ball back in 2009,

Sparkles and no sleeves at the SOTU? Inappropriate. She dresses like a child. Odd for such big woman.

I used to think she looked liked James Brown in a drag queen dress.
However after seeing her with the wig on several times she now reminds me of an out cast from the Huli tribe from Papua New Guinea known for their ´wig hats´. Google ´Huli tribe´ for more info.

I feel sorry for the woman, I really do. Wookie face, basketball player arms, no decolletage to speak of, and her hips...well, bless her heart.

But its obvious the trailer park sensibility has never left this woman. I cant decide if the fashion designers are scared to tell her that her choices just. don´t. work. Or if they are incapable of finding a style that fits her...or if they are merely incompetent. Its a hard call.

As for myself, I´m taking a Downton Abbey perspective...

Doesn´t she know that business attire is appropriate for this event? It is not a cocktail party.
She doesn´t have a clue. AND she should dump that wig.

A cocktail dress for a State of the Union speech? I guess you needs lots and lots of cocktails to listen to take the garbage he was spewing out.

I always wonder who writes this stuff. Michelle has no sense of fashion whatsoever. That wig is hideous and out of place; her cocktail dress was inappropriate at the state of the union, and bare arms are horrid and shows she has no class at all. I am so embarrassed to say she is our first lady. Michelle has no class and no common sense.

Mooch looked like Geraldine last night. The dress was out of place. A business suit or conservative dress would be more appropriate. After all, the sotu isn´t about her. Poor taste IS about her. Actually I thought she looked silly. This wasn´t the prom Moochie girl, it was the sotu!!!!!!

Dress was ugly. So was Geraldine!!!

It is obvious that Mrs. O has no sense of decorum. A cocktail dress is inappropriate attire for the SOTU. What next, a ball gown? I am sure that no one tells this woman anything negative including her husband. She is more in the vein of The Queen of Hearts than she is the First Lady. Off with their heads!

Mrs Obama with her bare arms is either ahead of all the other ladies present in the room fashion wise, or was out of place fashion wise. We will have wait until the gay fashion designers weigh in to find out.

It may have been the camera angle, but it sure looked like her wig was a little out of calibration with the front of her head. Then again maybe that´s the way it was designed to be.

Does all that really matter compared to what President Obama said he wants to do to America?

Let me be clear: are we paying for all of the stuff that makes her "stunning?" I am also stunned, but not in a polite and adoring way. I do not want to be told that she is keeping all of those ugly outfits, and the accessories , and jewelry, and shoes...and is more concerned with those things than just sitting down somewhere and being quietly seen from a distance. She is making a mockery of "First Lady" at least as I see that honor.

She´s a chic? Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha to the nth power. This middle line backer looked like an orangutan in a dress. We should all be thankful that she wasn´t sitting in a place where we had to look big oiled llegs she´s so fond of crossing any chance she gets. The woman is trailer trash and has the manners of a hog. But, I do thank her Just seeing her standing there with that lower lip pulled up enough to cover her six inch teeth gave me the last reason I needed to switch to watching Westminster and dogs one can enjoy watching.

Her dresses are like tents--small at the top (because she is flat-chested) to make it look like she is thin and flared out at the bottom to cover her hips and thighs. All we see are her sinewy arms and the bottom part of her legs. It is really a remarkable feat of camouflage.

Those who could not read the article: please do. The Mail is notorious for its tongue-in-cheek coverage of Michelle´s fashion "sense."

For example:

Putting on the glitz: The otherwise simple tweed dress was shot through with sparkling thread

The key to the TIC is the emphatic "otherwise." A "simple tweed dress" (with at least three-quarter sleeves, preferably a jacket) would have been entirely appropriate for the occasion. A woman with class would immediately wrinkle her nose and gasp, "Ruining a good tweed with sparkling thread??? Ugh! Woman´s only taste is when she´s stuffing her face."

The First Lady Michelle Obama told graduates from Nashville´s Martin Luther King Jr High School to carve their own path, work hard and show grit and determination at her commencement speech today. But little did she know that teachers and students at the Tennessee school, have shown more grit than most in dealing with the school´s run-down conditions. The school was honored to host Mrs Obama in the only high school graduation speech she will give this year. But it was no surprise the event was held off campus given the state of the school buildings

You may be forgiven if you missed it during last week’s tsunami of scandals, but President Obama finally let slip that he is a socialist. Buried in the 17th paragraph of one of those mewling New York Times pieces on the woes of Obama — can we start calling him Woe-bama yet? — appeared these two words: “going Bulworth.” Obama himself, the Times explained, has been “longingly” telling his inner circle that what he’d really like to do is what Sen. Jay Bulworth, played by Warren Beatty in his 1998 movie “Bulworth,” did: to go public as

Appearing on CBS’ Face the Nation, White House senior adviser Dan Pfeiffer said that it was “largely irrelevant” who edited the talking points the Obama administration trotted out in the aftermath of the terrorist attack in Benghazi on September 11, 2012. The Homeland Security Department has granted legal status to 99.2 percent of all illegal immigrants who have applied under President Obama’s new non-deportation policy for young adults, according to the latest numbers released Friday. That’s a slight drop from the 99.5 percent approval rate reported last month. The policy, known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, grants legal status to most illegal immigrants under the age of 31 who came to the U.S. before age 16 — usually brought by their parents. They are allowed to remain in the U.S. without fear of deportation, and are given work

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,
