| Gun Control: Our future president in 2008 called for "a civilian national security force that´s just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as the military. Should the "bitter-clingers" be worried? As Andrew Malcolm has noted on these pages, the Department of Homeland Security has been buying lots of ammo, enough by one calculation to fight the equivalent of a 24-year Iraqi War. Some have speculated about a link between the stockpiling between candidate Obama´s off-prompter campaign remarks about a national security force and the stockpiling by DHS

Why aren´t the Republicans asking questions about this threat? Too stupid? In agreement with Democrat totalitarians? They don´t believe in anything? Too stupid? Where are the "conservative" Republicans?

People like me have no representation in DC. "My" party, the Republicans, have no voice. They worry more about being invited to the proper cocktail parties. They worry about being criticized by the MSM.
I know there are some really good people in DC. And I don´t know what pressures they´re subjected to. I can only imagine it´s intense.
But I think about NH´s license plate motto: Live Free or Die.
I think it´s time for my representatives to embrace this saying politically. Live Free or Die politically.

I was at a dinner party a few nights ago and one of the men said that he talked to a GA politician, don´t remember which one, although he was a Repub. The pol said that with all the employees this covered, it came out to about 667 bullets per employee.
I flat don´t believe that but had no knowledge with which to back my suspicions.

I´m reminded of the plaintive quote in the dispatch from "G. Washington" in the movie "1776": "Is anybody there? Does anybody care?"
One can only imagine what our founding fathers would say were they to see the mess our "leaders" in Washington have created.

Just like the marine who is talking about his OBL kill, anyone who knows anything have signed non- disclosure agreements. How he thinks there will be no retribution, I have no idea. But if you know and leak, they can and will pinpoint you, and you can say goodbye to your life outside bars. That is, of course, unless you are an "authorised leaker".

People, the 1.6 BILLION rounds purchased by the Dept. of Homeland Security are NOT all HANDGUN rounds...many millions of them are for .223 or 5.56 weapons which are the M-16 type of weapons except these are FULLY automatic capable (just flip the selector switch further for FULLY auto) and are true ASSAULT weapons. Nevertheless,´why´ is the question. I asked my District Congressman, Ralph Hall, his office called me during the weekend and the phone number to call back was so fast I still can´t make it out. I also contacted (e-Mail) my Federal Senators...Mr.Cornyn´s office initially said the figures are exaggerated. I will call them all again and press them on this issue. They don´t know, don´t care, or don´t want to say...Right now I don´t know which is the right choice.

DHS may have a lot of ammunition, but Congress is never going to appropriate the money for Obama to have his own personal National Security Force, that´s just not going to happen, as whatever congress critters who voted for that would immediately become unelectable.

I think some government-designated buyers are buying up the popular rifle calibers to remove those rounds from private ownership.
It´s a clever way to diminish the utility of guns.
I´m glad I´ve been buying bargain amm over the last few years and I´m stocked. I just buy now some lesser-used ammo that are common in Eastern Europe.
7.62x39 is available now, and that´s why any personal armory has at least 1 AK variant in it.

Has anybody besides myself pondered why TSA agents seem to be showing up, unbidden, at railroad stations and bus depots and major sporting events, among other places? Evidently they are even running roadside checkpoints ("May I see your papers, please"). Someone tell Gov. Jan Brewer.
A week ago Jesse Jackson Senior was imploring the Won to send armed TSA agents to Occupy Chicago to put down the gang violence that has left so many Windy City teens dead.
Your Bamster national security force is already on the job.

Benghazigate: The lack of a timeline for what the commander-in-chief was doing the night terrorists murdered our ambassador to Libya and three others is an "irrelevant fact," according to a key White House aide. Playing the role Sunday of former U.N. Following in Rice´s footsteps, he announced that the details of where President Obama was and what he was doing that fateful night

Government Overreach: The Internal Revenue Service official in charge of tax-exempt organizations when the unit targeted Tea Party groups now runs the IRS office responsible for enforcing ObamaCare. As bad as the IRS scandal was, with the taxing body of government using its unequaled authority to intimidate and harass the president´s political opposition to aid his re-election, it got worse with the news that the IRS official, Sarah Hall Ingram, who served as commissioner of the Tax-Exempt and Government Entities Division from 2009 to 2012, is now serving as director of the IRS´ Affordable Care Act division.

Employer spending on benefits rose at the slowest pace on record in the first quarter, as companies began bracing for higher health costs with next year´s launch of ObamaCare.Total benefits, such as insurance and pension contributions, rose just 0.1% vs. the end of last year, the smallest gain in Labor Department data going back to 2001. By comparison, payroll employment grew by a half-million, or 0.4%, in Q1. So benefits-per-worker declined. Total employee benefits provided outside of government jobs declined outright.

As we wrote last July, just as food stamp use has skyrocketed here under President Obama, so have marketing efforts to Hispanics under a partnership with Mexico. We dubbed the program "Fat and Furious" after the administration´s gun-running program that also seemingly had worthy goals but had unclear motives and pernicious effects. Energy: As the EPA snipes at the State Department´s approval, Canada´s natural resource minister says failure to approve the pipeline would seriously jeopardize our energy relationship and do nothing to save the earth. Joe Oliver, not amused by the continued delays in perhaps the most shovel-ready project since the pyramids, said Wednesday that rejection by the U.S. of the proposed Keystone XL pipeline "would represent a serious reversal in our long-standing energy relationship." This critical energy infrastructure project is also perhaps the most studied and approved. After a reroute at the behest of environmentalists

States: The governor from a thriving free-enterprise state travels to the U.S. counterpart of Greece and Cyprus with an invitation: Come to where folks are friendly to business. Texas´ Rick Perry arrived in Illinois Monday to lure businesses away from a state that we and other´s have dubbed "America´s Greece" — beleaguered by debt, punished by regulations and subject to ever-rising taxes — to one that´s leading the pack in job and economic growth. Asian Security: As Korea festers, our friends in Beijing have deployed near Taiwan a powerful missile designed to take out U.S. aircraft carriers as Beijing strengthens its ability to prevent U.S. forces from aiding Taiwan. When North Korea announced the 1953 Armistice was considered null and void and threatened renewed missile tests, the U.S. rushed naval assets to the region, including two destroyers equipped with the Aegis anti-missile defense system. We presumably would do so if things heated up between Beijing and its claimed "lost province," Taiwan. That option became increasingly problematical when news

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. But he insisted McDonough and the other White House officials purposely kept Obama out of the loop.McDonough “rightly chose not to take action” to inform Obama, Carney told reporters at the daily White House briefing.

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.

One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?" Judge Andrew Napolitano explained that the question about guns comes out of a post-Sandy Hook executive order by President Obama, but it will be required under Obamacare. Varney expressed amazement

While many Americans were tuned into news coverage of the massive damage from tornadoes ravaging the state of Oklahoma, Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse took to the Senate floor to rail against his Republican colleagues for denying the theory of anthropogenic global warming. Whitehouse spent 15 minutes chastising GOP senators and justified his remarks by alluding to states that seek federal assistance in the wake of natural disasters. “So, you may have a question for me,” Whitehouse said. “Why do you care? Why do you, Sheldon Whitehouse, Democrat of Rhode Island, care
