| One of my least favorite pundits is the shrill and self-parodic conservative Washington Post blogger Jennifer Rubin. But Rubin had a point when she criticized “liberal media types” for lecturing the Roman Catholic Church “about the need, you know, to get with the modern world and stop all that fussing about abortion, contraception and women priests.” Rubin asked: “ On what basis do secular journalists assert the authority to lecture a religion on its tenets? Imagine instructing rabbis to lighten up on the Ten Commandments or evangelicals to stop being so, you know, literal.

While Mikey is attacking one of our few conservative journalist, Jennifer Rubin, his point is correct about the LSM. I know from my lifetime of reading anti-Catholic articles from the LA Times to not be surprised by their blatant BIAS. But, one must follow what Rush was saying yesterday about the press. Basically, how can some liberal "plagiarist" [copies talking points], know more than me about electronics as the Catholic Church about their Dogma? They have no right to judge, that is, add commentary to "news" article.

All too many "journalists", whether "secular" or not have given up on reporting facts accurately. In this modern day they seem to see themselves as "shapers of opinion", helping
to present a politicized view of the world that agrees with their own beliefs, or with the beliefs of those who control them. They often see themselves as capable of rendering an opinion merely because they can speak and write.

Amen! The same goes for lapsed Catholics who criticise the Church but begin every attack with "I grew up a Catholic school. . ."
I always ask when they last had religious instruction. Most ended their "education" about the time they received the sacrament of Confirmation (at about age 13). Think about how much you knew about ANY subject at that age and then consider whether you want to pay any mind to these "experts." They seem to love commenting on articles about the Church in major newspapers.

I heard a newscreature interview some 18 y/o UC Berkeley bimbo who proceeded to lecture the Church about allowing women to serve as priests. The Catholic Church does seem to be going down the PC path -- and we don´t need an authentic translation of the Third Secret of Fatima to know where that road leads.

Journalist can´t even argue with a turnip, much less someone with a brain. And certainly not a devout and educated man. In some ways, it’s no surprise that journalist fawn over Obambi. The only difference between a journalist and Obambi is one reads his talking points from a TelePrompTer and the other reads his talking points from a memo based off the TelePrompTer.

Here´s my prediction: It is highly likely the next Pope will be a faithful Catholic. Many in our media define "faithful" as "hidebound, troglodyte, hopelessly out of date and out of touch, misogynist, homophobic and anti-choice." May it please God that the next Pope will also be called all those things by those who hate Jesus and His church (in all its forms, not just the Roman version).

Dubai - Iranian authorities executed two men on Sunday convicted of working for Israeli and U.S. spy agencies, Iran’s Fars news agency reported. Mohammad Heidari, accused of passing security-related in formation and secrets to Israeli Mossad agents in exchange for money, and Kourosh Ahmadi, accused of gathering information for the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency, were hanged at dawn, it said. The sentence for their execution was handed down by Tehran’s Revolutionary Court and confirmed by the country’s Supreme Court. The report did not say when the pair were arrested nor when their trial took place.

The Vatican has denied claims that Pope Francis performed an exorcism, after TV images showed a man apparently reacting to him putting his hands on his head. The encounter - during Sunday Mass - was shown on a TV channel owned by the Italian bishops´ conference. The station quoted exorcists as saying there was "no doubt" the Pope had either performed an exorcism or a prayer to free the man from the devil. Its director later apologised for "having altered the truth". The Pope´s spokesman said he "did not intend to perform any exorcism".

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.
