| On Tuesday, Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel announced that he’d be pushing for new gun control in the city of Chicago, even though it is the most heavily gun-controlled municipality in the country. Emanuel will be hosting President Obama on Friday, where Obama will no doubt shift blame for Chicago’s gun crime problem from the city and onto surrounding areas, despite their lower rates of crime. Said Emanuel: The worst thing would be to say let’s not discuss this, because if we, Chicago, can actually lead the way to commonsense gun laws, commonsense enforcement, and an honest discussion
|
Comments: But those nasty NRA advocates were told by the Chicago Police Superintendent that Chicago does not have strict gun laws. And now they will get even worse! I´m really tired of liars.

FTA: But now Emanuel seems to embracing the conservative notion of law and order, pushing for harsher sentencing for felons carrying weapons, among other measures.
Are we supposed to believe that rahm embraces harsher sentences for felons, when he is mayor of a city that prosecutes something like 4 percent of the gang thug shooters? rahm is trying to look tough on crime, but he´s not. In the FTA above, the operative word is "seems." Any remarks by emanuel to contrary are simply lip service.

Exactly what is "common sense" about gun laws that only the law abiding will obey? Criminals will simply ignore these new laws the same way they ignore the existing laws. That´s why they are called criminals. In the mean time the law abiding citizens will be left even more defenseless against a criminal element grown even bolder because it knows that it´s prey can´t fight back.

Look the demographics of the dead in Chicago, I´ll bet they reflect the story the CDC statistics tell us about where the problem is with guns in this country.

Gang control, not gun control. Take no prisoners and the problem will subside.

Publish the demographics of gun deaths in Chicago. Address these demographics. Declare martial law in these districts and confiscate all firearms therein, with exceptions for demonstrably good behavior. Leave the rest of Chicago alone.

Per Illinois must pass a concealed carry law by June or it becomes a constitutional carry state and Chicago´s gun laws will go pffft.

Gee, lower crime rates in the areas around Chicago. Wonder what they´re doing do make that happen?

Richmond VA had a simliar problem. Then they started with Project Exile in which felons comitting crimes with guns were prosecuted under federal gun laws. Not only were the sentences for the federal crimes tougher than just the local drug or robbery charges, but if convicted by a federal court the perp was sent to a prison in another state, far away from the thug´s home, posse, and support system. Suddenly a 4-6 month stint in the local hoosgaw turned into 8-10 years in Wyoming. Not very appealing.
The crime rate in Richmond plummeted as a result.
Once again, enforce existing laws rather than pass new worthless laws that the thugs will also ignore.

There is a danger I doubt the communists have thought of; If their grab at the legally owned guns does not work to curb illegal guns on the street and the deaths thereby caused (black-on-black) then the communists are in another pickle of their own making. Of course, the Pravda media will never expose them for it.

The solution is staring Rahm in the face - - and he doesn´t recognize it.
Just put all law-abiding people into the safety of the prisons - - and let the gangstas roam free to kill each other.
Why can´t Rahm see the obvious?

At least their new police chief knows the answer is mandatory sentencing. 93% Chicago gun criminals walk free... The kid who shot this girl has 2 prior gun offenses in 2012 alone.// resulting in probation.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

America´s 100 million cable and satellite subscribers are forced to pay ever-higher bills for a growing number of channels they do not watch. The American people are being ripped off. Meanwhile, services such as iTunes and Netflix have led a revolution in how consumers purchase and experience music and video entertainment. They have upended entire industries to allow consumers to buy digital content where they want, when they want. Amid all this change, two entrenched interests — the cable television and video programming industries — have teamed up to use federal regulations to stack the deck against consumers.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama is a little uneasy with the way journalists have been dragged into the Justice Department’s aggressive pursuit of national security leak investigations. In fact, he has ordered Attorney General Eric Holder to conduct a 45-day review of the department’s guidelines on the issue. That bit of news was buried in the middle of the president’s hourlong speech today at National Defense University. “Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs,” President Obama said. “Our focus must be on those who break the law.” And then the news: “I have raised these issues with

Anthony Weiner’s nascent mayoral campaign is off to a rough start. Weiner made his candidacy for mayor of New York official in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, and since then there’s no indication that the process is going particularly well. The former rising star in the Democratic Party can’t shake the scandal that forced him to resign from Congress, and he may be throwing fuel on the fire. Asked this morning whether there was another shoe to drop in the sextweeting scandal that ousted him, Weiner admitted, Well, yeah.

White House press secretary Jay Carney could only explain his problems on Wednesday by telling reporters, "[T]here are a lot of you, and you´re good at your jobs and you´re smart." As easy as it might be for Carney to lob such insincere praise at former journalistic colleagues, such posterior osculations must be embarrassing for a White House so accustomed to having the press in its back pocket. Carney´s job has become more difficult in the past two weeks. Where his explanations were accepted at face value in the past, he is now met with deep skepticism. Suddenly, the

WASHINGTON – First she refused to testify. Now Lois Lerner, the IRS official at the center of the agency scandal, is refusing to resign, according to a top Republican senator. Sources confirmed to Fox News earlier Thursday that Lerner, the head of the IRS division that oversaw the unit targeting conservative groups, had been placed on administrative leave, with pay. But Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, claimed she was only put in that status after refusing to step down. He said the commissioner was in his right to demand her resignation, and said taxpayers

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. She was determined to

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
