Valerie Jarrett: ´We´re Heartened to
See that the U.N. Security
Council Will Be Meeting

Weekly Standard, by Daniel Halper

Original Article

Posted By:StormCnter, 2/12/2013 11:30:43 AM

On CBS this morning, Valerie Jarrett, a close advisor to President Obama, reacted to the news that North Korea had conducted a nuclear test last night by saying, "We´re heartened to see the U.N. Security Council will be meeting" this morning to discuss the issue. "The news this morning is that North Korea has had a third nuclear test," said the host to Jarrett. "The president in his statement said this was a highly provocative act that warranted swift and credible action. What will the president say tonight about reducing nuclear weapons?"

Comments:
I don´t think anyone voted for Valerie Jarrett. "We"??

Valerie (Evil) Jarrett now uses the royal "we?" Then again, why not? She´s been the power, the Rasputin, the shadow in every room, and the decision maker never approved at any level by congress, any select committee...nothing...since the jug eared traitor was sworn in—check the pictures to see her standing on the podium both times.

The UN will form a committee to determine whether a commission is necessary to develop a finding to create a study committee that might or might not write a strongly-worded letter to Kim Troll Un

This would be the same ´UN Security Council´ that frequently has ´state sponsors of terrorism´ at it´s helm - and has for what...over a decade now...issued absolutely *meaningless* threats to Iran over *it´s* nuke program?

Puh-leeze. We´d be better off sending a contingent of ticked off kindergarten children with slingshots...

The UN at this juncture in world history is little more than a vast contingent of money grubbing ´bureaucrats´ with no more qualifications needed than some ´ethnic´ background to peddle sanctimony from.

File under - *Useless* - like Jarrett.

If you´re heartened by a meeting of the UN Security Council you´re an idiot. They´ll issue a statement of condemnation then break for lunch.

It was announced that Zippy would ‘travel more’ in his second term. At the time, it was thought that VJ was going to be taking a more open position as the decision-maker.
This may be the opening shot.

It begins to appear that minister Vee-Jay has Zero´s Power of Attorney. Think Richelieu and Louis XIII.

The white house put susan rice out there to talk about benghazi, even though she knew nuffin - and now Val is put out there about North Korea, and she, too, knows nuffin.

North Korea is really in for it now.

The United Nations is about to slap a resolution on them.

Ouch!

And if that doesn´t get the message across, the U.N. is prepared to slap another, long resolution on them, and to keep pounding them with resolutions until they come to their senses and turn over all their nukes.

Nothing is as terrifying to malefactor nations as the prospect of a U.N.resolution. It may take a while -say, a decade or more- but sooner or later the recipients of such resolutions can´t take it any more and give up.

If Saddam Hussein were still alive, he could confirm this. The U.N. pounded Iraq for 10 or 15 years with dozens of resolutions. They were just about to bear fruit when George W. Bush barged in and spoiled it all by invading Iraq and deposing Hussein.

Americans can rest easy and feel safe knowing that there are foreign policy experts like Valerie Jarrett on or around the job.

They really believe the buffoons and charlatans at the UN are more competent to deal with such a crisis than the Obama administration. Sadly, they may be right.

If this woman is heartened by the U.N. Security Council setting a date for a meeting, then she is as much a saying that Obama´s got nothing.

Obama to Charlie Rose, yesterday: I’ve stood up a privacy and civil liberties oversight board made up of independent citizens, including some fierce civil libertarians. I’ll be meeting with them and what I want to do is to set up and structure a national conversation not only about these two programs but also about the general problem of these big data sets because this is not going to be restricted to government entities. The board Obama is referring to was created in 2004. Nominations and confirmation delays prevented the board from being particularly effective,

Obama never fails to enlist children in his secularist crusades, whether at home or abroad. Last week he trotted out two nine-year-old girls to introduce him at a White House event celebrating “LGBT Pride Month.” “We could not be prouder of Zea and Luna for the introduction,” he said. “Zea and Luna are here with their moms, and also I think with Grandma and Grandpa — correct? And so feel free to congratulate them afterwards for their outstanding introduction.” Zea and Luna proved useful to Obama not only as props for LGBT rights but also as mouthpieces for his gun-control agenda:

With dozens of Democratic lawmakers struggling to live on a food stamp budget to protest GOP cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, a Republican staffer says he is living on a SNAP budget without problems. Texas Republican Rep. Steve Stockman’s communications director and agriculture policy advisor, Donny Ferguson, says he has been able to eat well on $27.58 for a week, less than the $31.50 House Democrats have limited themselves to for their “SNAP Challenge.” “I wanted to personally experience the effects of the proposed cuts to food stamps. I didn’t plan ahead or buy strategically,

The ongoing saga of Edward Snowden has at least been moving in the right direction for President Obama. Snowden may once have tried to position himself as a whistleblower, but he has since devolved into ingratiating himself with authoritarian regimes by plying them with American national security secrets. While Pete is correct that the NSA story seems to be hurting voters’ opinion of Obama’s trustworthiness, Americans are by now realizing that they would be foolish to go the other extreme and place that trust in Snowden. It is also (understandably) distracting the public’s attention from the scandals that preceded it,

In two contexts the Obama administration has revealed its complete confusion about high-stakes negotiations and the interrelation of soft and hard power. In Syria, after dragging his feet for two years, trying to fudge over his own “red line” and coming up with a half-hearted move to give small arms to the rebels, President Obama discovers that he can’t budge Russia, which has backed Bashar al-Assad to the hilt. The Post reports that at the Group of 8 summit: Obama has demanded that Assad relinquish power as part of any negotiated peace settlement, a condition Putin rejects.

At least for now (although a statewide referendum may be pending), Arizona governor Jan Brewer, a Republican, has succeeded in her efforts to implement a key part of Obamacare in her state. Brewer has very aggressively — and entirely voluntarily — spearheaded the charge to implement Obamacare’s massive Medicaid expansion on her watch. She now claims, however, that she’s not really implementing Obamacare — or at least not any significant portion of it. In a recent interview reported by the Associated Press, Brewer said, “This business that this is Obamacare is a little bit interesting.”

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

It is understood that a contingency plan is in place for the unlikely event that an attempt would be made on the President’s life. The Secret Service also have diplomatic immunity which will allow them to shoot to kill a would-be assassin without fear of prosecution. As part of the “evacuation route” plan, they would be able to spirit the President by chopper to one of the carriers where a jet is on standby to take him back to the United States.
