| The manhunt for accused killer and ex-LAPD cop Christopher Dorner has forced a California elementary school to shut down because its head priest´s sister is on Dorner´s hit list, according to local reports. Holy Angels´ School pastor Rev. Michael Evans emailed parishioners over the weekend to say the school and church in Arcadia would close this week as he sought refuge outside the Los Angeles area. "While I am not under direct threat from this suspect, both LAPD and Arcadia PD have recommended that I be away from the parish," Evans said in a statement, according to L.A.´s KABC.

A bit rash, dont you think?
After all, as a mere subject, all Reverand Evans and his family needs is a place to hide, a cellular phone with "911" on quick dial, and a scissor nearby to defend themselves with.

A local paper reports that Evans sought refuge and the elementary school has been closed until perhaps Wednesday or Thursday. There are other clergy on staff who are taking over for Fr. Evans. Although the local article said there was a police presence at the church, there was no mention that the church was "shuttered".
When faraway papers run amok, the news can be somewhat altered. This one sounds like something you´d see in the Daily Mail.

Being the male chauvinist pig that I am, I can very easily suspect that the female cop trainer could get a little testy and difficult when she suspects that someone is wondering if she can handle the job AA handed her.

#4 Dorner was also a AA hire. I was sickened by the apologist that called into the local radio station here. He is a coward and a loser who blames everyone else for his failed life.

This story first brought to mind the bit in John 10 about false shepherds abandoning their flock when a wolf comes.
Should Dorner come after Rev. Evans, though, anybody with him will also be at risk of becoming a collateral casualty. So the pastor´s sacred obligation isn´t quite as clear as one might think (or hope). Keep working as normal, danger be damned? Or remove the potential target from public places?

It amazes me how "frightened" Dorner has made so many Americans. "My family name was on his list! I must flee!" If my name was on his list, I would be waiting for him.
We truly have become a nation of frightened little mice, haven´t we?

1. Want to know what a chill in your bones feels like? Replace high-profile public nut-job, limited tools and skills Dorner with six-to-ten trained terrorists. Turn ´em loose in a major, PC-distorted US city. No "manifestos," nothing, just disasters and deaths day after day. You think the LAPD is paralyzed now?
#9: A part of the population may have turned into "frightened little mice," who get heaps of media attention, just like a snowstorm does [had those before, will have ´em again; man up]. But a fair chunk of people do actually grow up. The NRA publications report their achievements every month.

Even as reports break about the size and scope of the National Security Agency’s vast data storage center in Utah, new details are emerging about a second massive NSA center in San Antonio, Texas. According to the Houston Chronicle, “Satellite and aerial imagery show that massive air conditioning units and backup generators have been added to the facility, which is now ringed by barbed-wire fencing. City permits and property tax records show that the complex has been dramatically expanded.” According to sources, the plant will supposedly translate intercepted communications from the NSA; the communications are then forwarded to Maryland

House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) subpoenaed documents from a controversial ObamaCare program on Friday after charging that the Obama administration had denied his request several times. Issa is seeking information on a federal attempt to boost nonprofit health plans, known as CO-OPs (consumer oriented and operated plans), which compete with traditional health insurance. The Affordable Care Act created a $3.4 billion federal loan program for CO-OPs that Republicans say might never be repaid because of some applicants´ financial troubles.

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

U.S. Rep. Edward J. Markey, who has boasted in his U.S. Senate campaign about bringing high-tech jobs to Massachusetts, backed one of the biggest telecom busts in his own hometown, funneling $35 million in taxpayer dough to a 17-year project that’s failed to create a single Internet job.The planned Telecom City — re-named Rivers Edge after the site failed to become a dot com boomtown — was supposed to attract at least 7,500 high-tech jobs. The 200-acre site that straddles Malden, Medford and Everett instead has produced only 300 jobs so far, none of which are

In the latest black eye for the scandal-ridden State Department, a whistleblower claims she was run out of the foreign service after complaining about a consul general’s alleged office trysts with subordinates and hookers.Kerry Howard says she was bullied, harassed and forced to resign after she exposed US Consul General Donald Moore’s alleged security-threatening shenanigans in the Naples, Italy, office. As the post’s community-liaison officer, Howard was charged with keeping workplace peace and advising higher-ups on the state of morale, but when she revealed allegations about her boss, State Department officials swept it under the rug,

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Politico’s Playbook has an excerpt from a new Ryan Lizza piece from the New Yorker that is not yet online. It contains a passage on the back-and-forth between labor and the Chamber that has a quote from a Rubio staffer that is going to raise eyebrows, to say the least: “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.” Here is the entire context:
