Demonrats will never ever look at the TX model. Demonrats will always do what they always do - spend. When that doesn´t work, they´ll spend again and keep repeating the same thing expecting a different result to their failures.

Dems don´t understand how the real economy works,so even if they wanted to copy Texas,they wouldn´t know where to start.Texas didn´t build it´s reputation as a business friendly state overnight,it take time for people to be convinced.

My guess is doing business in Houston or Austin is different than the state overall.
If nothing else Texas deserves credit for surviving the Katrina refugees.

When people apply for permits to do this that or the other,the bureaucracies need to fast track those applications. Take any liberal ran state and starting a business is a nightmare of red tape.

Property taxes are a huge business killer. I suspect Texas gives business a break on them and make up the difference in volume.

Unfortunately the helicopter manufacturers in Texas have very low salaries for my position. I almost had the vapors when I saw the salary range for the job I ended up taking here in Oregon.Then I succeeded in negotiating the highest number. Texas is great, but you won´t necessarily find the best pay in some industries. And I´m an hour away from the ocean, two hours from skiing, and a hop & a skip up to the San Juan Islands for some boating. I´ve gotta say, life´s really good up here.

Texas has jobs, lots of them. Texas has lower salaries than most of the union-dominated States. Texas has cheaper housing than most of the union-dominated States. Texas has cheaper energy costs than the union-dominated States. Texas has a cheaper cost-of-living than the union-dominated States. Texas does have unions, we just know when to say no to the unions.

A Right-to-Work state with no personal income tax. Plus a state governoment dominated by conservative Republicans.

John Kasich could learn something from Gov. Perry.

Here in MA, when the state raised the taxes on alcohol, the citizens drove across the state line to New Hampshire to buy cheaper alcohol. What ever nitwit was in charge of our state at that time, decided to plant MA police in the New Hampshire parking lots of the alcohol-selling businesses to harass and arrest MA visitors. Needless to say, that experiment did not end well.
I´m sort of surprised that gov. moonbeam has not attempted to bar Perry from california, or place a monetary charge on the businesses that he visited.

Very, very happy to report that my husband just took one of those high-paying Texas jobs. We are escaping from the gulag of NY. Unfortunately, we will leave behind many good friends who will continue to suffer from extraordinarily high taxes, and a governor drunk with power who is attempting to take away Second Amendment rights and expand every conceivable way to abort a child up until birth.
