McCain says ‘maybe’ to new
taxes to avert sequestration

Washington Post, by Ed O’Keefe

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/11/2013 3:49:45 PM

Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said Sunday that he is willing to consider supporting new tax revenue as part of a plan to avert $85 billion in looming budget cuts, as the White House pushed back against Republican lawmakers who say President Obama is solely responsible for the spending reductions. McCain made the comments as he once again warned about the adverse effects of the spending reductions, known as sequestration, that will require federal agencies to slash $85 billion in spending by Sept. 30 — including $43 billion at the Pentagon.

Comments:
It´s enough to make you weep tears of anger and frustration. And this is the same McCain who is working his magic with immigration. God help us all.

John, for the last time, the left does, did and will always hate you. But they will also use you if they can.
Quit trying to be liked by waivering each time.
It would probably be easier on everyone if you just changed to a D, you vote that way.

What else would you expect from the worst presidential candidate from either party in United States history, perhaps world history.

Stick it to us, Sidney, you aren´t running again. I wonder how dumb the conservatives in Arizona who voted for this fake are feeling about now.

McCain is married to a wealthy woman...so..if his support of new taxes hurts many Americans.. what will he care?

Even if his family´s taxes go up... he will always have more money left than the rest of us.

When will Republicans ever ever grow a pair of cajones?

Here we go again .. get ready for another Senate "gang", leading to another GOP "cave". Remember all the assurances from the GOP/Boehner apologists who tried to convince us that the GOP would make their stand over the sequester or the continuing resolution? Hey, Charlie Brown: how many times will you trust Lucy to hold the football?

Time for a new party to ultimately replace these GOP liars.

The boat is sinking. Its filling up with water. A dimocrat suggests we drill a hole in the bottom to drain out the water. McCain says, hmm, I better entertain that idea for the media so I don´t sound partisan.

The $85B is just a drop in the bucket. And I don´t care what they say, $43B from the military is another drop in the bucket. They´re using the same game plan, they always want to cut the policeman not the program, the solders not the programs. When you count the budget, black ops, war money and other items, the military is getting well over $700B a year. And they can´t find a measly $43B? Let the sequestration happen.

John McCain - No new taxes. Just say, "No!" Do not give in to the Liberal Democrats. Make a deal. If we can privatize Social Security, then you can put up any new bill you want to give illegal immigrants free social security benefits.
We will save the money for a fence at the border, and then we can stop illegals from working in our country, going to our schools, and getting free health care.
We will let you bring all of the military home from everywhere in the world, if they can stay at Fort Hood, Texas. Heck even kick all the generals out of DC and move them the Pentagon to Texas as well.
Stop giving in to Liberals John McCain, and start fighting for the United States.

For all of you who feel they must flame when we suggest our votes will no longer be cast for Republicans, I wish to point out that i have voted for my Republican Congressman over the last several elections, despite misgivings, but to do the right thing. The result: he voted for cap and trade. Votes to increase national debt. Votes to increase taxes. my income 50% what it was. Voting for him is different than voting for a Dem how? The net result is the same.

Unless these morons get it, they are destined to lose the House in 2014. The only hope is a third party wave blossoms before the destruction is ensured.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

America´s 100 million cable and satellite subscribers are forced to pay ever-higher bills for a growing number of channels they do not watch. The American people are being ripped off. Meanwhile, services such as iTunes and Netflix have led a revolution in how consumers purchase and experience music and video entertainment. They have upended entire industries to allow consumers to buy digital content where they want, when they want. Amid all this change, two entrenched interests — the cable television and video programming industries — have teamed up to use federal regulations to stack the deck against consumers.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama is a little uneasy with the way journalists have been dragged into the Justice Department’s aggressive pursuit of national security leak investigations. In fact, he has ordered Attorney General Eric Holder to conduct a 45-day review of the department’s guidelines on the issue. That bit of news was buried in the middle of the president’s hourlong speech today at National Defense University. “Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs,” President Obama said. “Our focus must be on those who break the law.” And then the news: “I have raised these issues with

Anthony Weiner’s nascent mayoral campaign is off to a rough start. Weiner made his candidacy for mayor of New York official in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, and since then there’s no indication that the process is going particularly well. The former rising star in the Democratic Party can’t shake the scandal that forced him to resign from Congress, and he may be throwing fuel on the fire. Asked this morning whether there was another shoe to drop in the sextweeting scandal that ousted him, Weiner admitted, Well, yeah.

WASHINGTON – First she refused to testify. Now Lois Lerner, the IRS official at the center of the agency scandal, is refusing to resign, according to a top Republican senator. Sources confirmed to Fox News earlier Thursday that Lerner, the head of the IRS division that oversaw the unit targeting conservative groups, had been placed on administrative leave, with pay. But Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, claimed she was only put in that status after refusing to step down. He said the commissioner was in his right to demand her resignation, and said taxpayers

Former Rep. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
