Dream Scenario For The GOP:
Dr. Ben Carson, Republican
Presidential Nominee

Mediaite, by Joe Concha

This week’s TIME magazine cover features 2016 GOP frontrunner Marco Rubio with an inescapable headline: “THE REPUBLICAN SAVIOR”. Given Mitt Romney’s stinging defeat in November and the almost-comical party-infighting since, Republicans could use that kind hero right now. While Mr. Rubio’s story is inspiring (son of Cuban immigrants graduates law school cum laude, overwhelmingly elected to the U.S. Senate at only age 38), and while he’s currently the best candidate to take on Hillary Clinton in 2016 (assuming she runs, which she will), there may be a very distinguished someone (who has never held public office) ready

Comments:
Indeed it is. Unfortunately, he stated that he was an Independent when he was on Fox & Friends yesterday.

No. He will be destroyed if he runs. He is better as a culture warrior.

Enough with the dems, ´borking,´ merited GOP candidates!!! We are on to their redundant ruthless political tactic of character assination, which is now beginning to backfire on them!! It is obvious dem pols AND their media have no shame, ...and are of devious character as well.

Dr. Carson would have our votes should he decide to be a candidate! Having such a respected, merited doctor in the WH at this particular time would benefit the country and beyond! (...As it is, there are far too many statist lawyers messing with the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights inside the foggy-bottom beltway!!)

Because he´s black? We need to counter Obama´s presidency with a black man? I give the man props for his brilliance and logic, but I doubt he´s interested in running for one thing, and it would just look like he was a token candidate.

I think that Dr. Carson has more to offer as a neurosurgeon than as a politician. We have great GOP politicians, if the GOP members would just realize it. We fight each other rather than compromise and unify. There is no conservative Messiah that will save us all. Ugh!

C´mon people! You´re flocking to the Carson bandwagon the same as you did to that of Cain. You´re embarrassing yourselves.

Do we really believe that "once you´ve gone black, you never go back?!" Pshaw!

Leave the good Doctor alone to be an inspiration to his people...and indeed all people who believe in the U.S.A. as the land of opportunity.

Not bad #6. Imagine if we now had John Bolton as Secretary of State instead of f´n-Purple Heart collector. One working for America, one working for himself and his legacy.

Question: If a Secretary of State is injured on the job, e.g. sprained his thumb during in-flight turbulence while flying to the Caribbean for a meeting, is he entitled to a Purple Heart?

I have even more respect or Dr. Carson now that I know he isn´t a Republican. If he ever ran, it wouldn´t be the character assassination from the left that would bother him. (Nah, just give it your best shot MSM.)
The problem is, Dr. Carson would never allow his words to be controlled by the likes of the GOP establishment boys. He doesn´t suffer fools easily.

It would help the country throughout the coming years to have many, MANY merited potential Presidential candidates speak out honestly about getting our ship of state back on its Constitutional course. Liberty needs as many as are willing to speak from their heart with wisdon and are of Dr. Carson´s boldness & courage to step into the arena where each can express America´s principled values and historical heritage and be actually heard by voters and NOT SIFTED by the alphabets! Such voices should be, ...´showering,´ the country with the truth. Overwhelm the statists with the true facts and stats which cannot be denied at this sad point in America the Beautiful´s history!

The dems & THEIR media will have too many authentically qualified candidates of good character in the arena to simply target & harrass any one of them with their usual fabricated barbs, as they have done so often in the past! (...Think Dan Quayle, Sarah Palin, etc.. They tried that vile tactic on Ronald Reagan but it didn´t work then and it simply can´t work yet again in the future or else America will become unrecognizable.)

#5 - the problem is.we don´t need politicians. We need statesmen. We need men of action. We seem to overlook that many of those in Congress and the Seante, on Bo sides, are the reason we are where we are. And we expect them to lead us out how?

Dr. Carson is retiring. The kind of surgery he does runs into many hours standing and working and he is almost 62. I understand he has indicated he would be willing to run. He is black and we need to fight fire with fire, so to speak. I have never jumped on any bandwagon until now.

Dr. Carson for President!

One speech?! Isn´t that the same foolishness and skittishness that gave us Øbama? I never heard of Dr. Carson before he embarrassed the Jerk in chief at the prayer breakfast. I have no idea what his politics are or where he has been. He sounds nice enough. Let´s see if he is a fighter, a firebrand for conservative ideals. He sounds like a perfectly nice, wonderful person. I want to see more - a lot more!

The FBI is probing past legal work done by Texas gubernatorial candidate Wendy Davis, according to a report her Republican opponent’s campaign calls a “bombshell.” The Dallas Morning News reported Friday that documents “related to Sen. Wendy Davis’ work as a lawyer for the North Texas Tollway Authority are part of an FBI inquiry of the agency.” The news outlet said it’s unclear how much this investigation revolves around Davis, the Democratic nominee for governor. “It’s not clear whether Davis’ work for the tollway authority is a focus of the FBI or only part of the material collected in connection

Researchers at Princeton and Northwestern universities have pored over 1,800 US policies and concluded that America is an oligarchy. Instead of looking out for the majority of the country’s citizens, the US government is ruled by the interests of the rich and the powerful, they found. No great surprises there, then. But the government is not the only American power whose motivations need to be rigourously examined. Some 2,400 miles away from Washington, in Silicon Valley, Google is aggressively gaining power with little to keep it in check. It has cosied up to governments around the world so effectively that its chairman,

Lynch recently was interviewed by The Boston Herald about upcoming Obamacare problems and how devastating they will be for Democrats. That runs contrary to cut current news cycle Democratic spin that (allegedly) meeting sign up goals means electoral problems related to Obamacare are over. U.S. Rep. Stephen Lynch, the

Then-Sens. Joe Biden and John Kerry were both opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 1993 health-care reform program, according to documents released by the Clinton presidential library. Clinton marked a handwritten “No” beside Biden’s name on Clinton’s list of Capitol Hill lawmakers that she needed to win over for her universal health care law, known as the “Clinton health plan” or “Hillarycare,” to pass. John Kerry, meanwhile, was marked with a “Probably not.” “Hillarycare” ended up dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate in 1994 without coming to a floor vote. As vice president, Biden has been a loyal supporter of the Obama administration’s

Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Alexis de Tocqueville, author of the classic Democracy in America, were born in different times and places. But the French aristocrat and American think tanker have the measure of the federal behemoth in the age of Obama. Writing in 1835, Tocqueville eloquently predicted how it would function, while Crews today supplies in his annual compilation of federal rules and regulations, “10,000 Commandments,” the hard numbers that describe the behemoth´s contemporary reach and costs. It is always worthwhile to revisit de Tocqueville’s description of what he called the

Prominent Washington correspondents are accusing President Obama and his aides of knowingly stretching the truth on issues like the so-called women´s pay gap just to create controversy and keep issues -- and the president -- relevant. Washington Post columnist Ruth Marcus kicked off the attack last week when she blasted as “demagoguery” the administration´s tactics during the pay gap debate. “The level of hyperbole -- actually, of demagoguery -- that Democrats have engaged in here is revolting,” she wrote. CBS White House Correspondent Major Garrett then weighed in this week in his National Journal

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

He hasn’t paid grazing fees since 1993, and refuses to renew the necessary grazing permit.(Snip)Rather than using the avenues and pathways presented to him, Bundy has staunchly declared his own law and allegiances. According to the Roanoke Times, "seven multiracial students, calling themselves ´The Committee,´" have also demanded the school "acknowledge and apologize for participating in chattel slavery." They want recognition of "Martin Luther King Jr. Day on the undergraduate campus" and an end to "neo-Confederates" marching across campus "to the Lee Chapel on Lee-Jackson Day." When it comes to tracking the cost of Obama family vacations, there are two primary challenges. First, the Obamas are prolific jet-setters, so there are many details to track. Second, the Obama administration, clearly embarrassed by these lavish and frequent family vacations, stonewalls the release of records at every turn. But we have been relentless in pursuit of this information. Our attorneys file the lawsuits and make our case, and our investigators pour through pages of records and crunch the numbers. And the information we’ve uncovered – information that would otherwise remain under lock and key – shows that the

To "honor the dignity and work of immigrants," Democratic House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi helps Bishop Marc Andrus wash the feet of two children Thursday at Saint John the Evangelist Episcopal Church in San Francisco. Pelosi also used the occasion to talk about passing HR15 - bipartisan immigration legislation that her office says would "reduce the deficit by nearly $1 trillion, secure our borders, unite our families, protect our workers and provide an earned pathway to citizenship." The Democratic leader´s ceremony coincides with Pope Francis´ similar ceremony in Rome to mark Holy Week.

Imagine a vendor on the National Mall, selling burgers and dogs, who hasn’t paid his rent in 20 years. He refuses to recognize his landlord, the National Park Service, as a legitimate authority. Every court has ruled against him, and fines have piled up. What’s more, the effluents from his food cart are having a detrimental effect on the spring grass in the capital. Would an armed posse come to his defense, aiming their guns at the park police? Would the lawbreaker get prime airtime on Fox News, breathless updates in the Drudge Report, a sympathetic ear from Tea Party Republicans?
