A Perfect Contrast
American Thinker, by William Sullivan

Original Article

Posted By:DW626, 2/10/2013 6:16:04 AM

Contrast can bring clarity. And I do not think that the two warring political ideologies in America have never been personified, juxtaposed, and as clearly defined as the contrast we witnessed at this week´s National Prayer Breakfast. Dr. Benjamin Carson, the famed director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins University, was given the unique opportunity to share his beliefs before a distinguished audience, including President Barack Obama. He did not waste the opportunity, and courageously expressed his beliefs with conviction, contrary though they are to those of the president.

Fabulous. But where is this story in the MSM? The progressives, Marxists, & Democrats will blow this off. "People" are to stupid to control their lives. And if they aren´t, it is unfair to give the advantage to smart people. Any way he can´t get elected because the Dem´s have perfected how to steal elections. No matter what, he will lose 49%to51 %.

"When the enemy comes in like a flood, then
God will raise a standard", Dr. Carson is indeed part of the standard raising the flag for righteousness. How can we give up hope when we have wonderful people like this on our side. Wow! I will get his book, I had never heard of him until now.

The expression on obama´s face while listening to Dr Carson speak was absolutely pricless. Bam Bam does not have a poker face.

This article must be a Must Read simply because it is the beginning of an important transformation.

Even the dullest and lowest informed person can see or feel that something is horribly wrong in our beloved country. Mr. Duke has hit the nail on the head with the word contrast.

Good teachers use that method to get an important point across. Dr. Carson did it so supremely well that I have to pinch myself that such courage exists in these days of Obama, and, most importantly, to King Obama´s face!

The last few sentences of the article must be stated over and over again.

...Dr. Ben Carson owns a legacy as an innovative pioneer of his field and philanthropist whose life and work have personally touched, and even saved, countless others. Barack Obama, on the other hand, despite all his celebrity, owns a legacy that amounts to little more than stirring fear and outrage on the premise that others are not doing enough to help people.

Which ideology has produced the more effective, positive outcome?

Excellent article. Truly inspiring and a wonderful man. I submit most of what he said, LoFos notwithstanding, was not unknown to the 47% parasites who voted last November. The Left has invested two generations of (mal)education and acculturation to create the base they are now harvesting by making themselves the only ticket to a free meal. Zippy is a mere token of this poison swamp.
2008 and 2012 have shown that politics as usual is not the answer - anymore than petitioning George III was back then.

Let the Left´s character assassination begin. It won´t be long before Dr. Carson is painted as a womanizing, profligate, devil-worshiping pedophile who (gasp) has money in the Caymans.

He´ll be hard to bring down, though.

Pondering the Dr. Carson mega-phenom, it´s clear that our prayers for God to send us a real leader can be answered with Dr. Carson´s service to America. As one journalist put it, "Ben Carson for President".

May God bless and keep you in his care and protection Dr. Carson

Oh, this is so frustrating.

Certainly there are issues to be tackled with our current health INSURANCE programs. But there was no massive public outcry -NONE- for it to be changed so drastically, so suddenly.

This Obamascare nightmare is about, and ONLY about, control of US through our health records (and quite possibly, our voter registration records).

Don´t think it´s anything more, or less, than that. They want to control our medical care through our finances, and they´ll control our finances completely, soon enough.

Cheers to Dr. Carson for saying these things in a very noticeable forum, and thanks to everyone else for noticing. He is exactly right in that context ... if that was all this scheme was about.

It was difficult not to observe the two, nearly side-by-side, and weep for what should be, and more so for what is.

Dr. Ben Carson is a breath of clean, fresh air. Clearly Obama was clueless as to what Dr. Ben might say and appeared to be a bit uncomfortable about what he heard. It was like pealing the stenchful layers off a rotten onion and exposing the clean, fragile layers in the center. "An Eagle needs a left wing and a right wing to fly."

It was a great speech - I rolled it back & listened to it twice. Two thing really stood out. He spoke in a simple, straight-forward manner. Anybody listening could understand the points he was making. Also, I loved the part about his mother making him read & write book reports. More parents should do this! Reading is so important & it doesn´t have to cost a thing - I´ve always said there is no excuse to be uninformed when there are libraries full of books in every city.

Wonderful, factual, and inspiring speech by Dr. Carson and wonderful article by Mr. Sullivan. People are discussing Dr. Carson´s speech and that fact alone makes me feel better about things today than I have in a very long time.

President Obama´s lack of offering courteous applause, his steely expression, and his attention paid to his IPod or Blackberry or whatever he was using in an attempt to avoid the good doctor´s words, spoke volumes about the character (or serious lack of) of the man. As much as he tried not to show it, the truth of Dr. Carson´s words burrowed deep into the President´s psyche and created havoc there.

The bamboozler won because most whites who voted for him had the ever present "white guilt" on their shoulders. My husband -- a Roosevelt democrat -- voted for the bamboozler because he felt he "should because he was black"....nonsense....

My husband started his own company -- ran it beautifully -- made money the ole American way -- BUT -- he knew BO had screwed up the economy -- BUT -- he figured the next president could fix the BO´s mess.

oooo! good observation, #23!

Dr. Carson is a wonderful man. And he had a wonderful, wonderful Mom.

This is another interesting contrast between BO and Dr. Carson: their upbringing. Both had absentee fathers. But ponder the impact a mother (parent) can have and what a great consequence possibly for the world!

BO´s mother hated America, seems to have been driven and energized by spite, envy, hatred.

Mrs. Carson, she was a woman of faith who wanted the best for her sons and drove them hard to READ and study and work hard. No bitterness. No inculcation of envy or corrosive attitudes.

The contrasts and comparisons are multitudinous. This is why the msm(leftwing propaganda machine) can not risk fuller exposure.

Dr. Carson has been in the public eye at least since 2004 with President Bush. Amazing, though, we have a world-renowned pediatric neurosurgeon (who happens to be black), and the broader public has been kept in the dark. pathetic.

God bless Dr. Carson and his family.

The differences in health care philosophy are not about solutions - everyone knows Carson is right. It´s about power - Obama and the D party want more bureaucracies and employees who staff them to get more unionized employees (heads) and dues for funding their campaigns. It is clear and simple. It´s about the democrat politicians and the union bosses. Everyone else is a pawn to be bought off at election time.

FTA: "We must admit -- there is something amazing about this. In two paragraphs, Ben Carson has offered a free market solution to create competition and reduce healthcare costs that is feasible, understandable, and compassionate."

Back in the early 1990´s, Dr. Carson´s book, Gifted Hands, was required reading for all three of our kids (we required it!) and each had to write a book report on it. It was so inspiring, encouraging and I believe should be required reading in schools.

If you watch the video closely you can see the expression on Zero´s face change remarkably, from mild interest, to boredom, to aggravation and finally to seething anger. Once he did the chin in the air with the LOOK on his face with about 12 minutes or so to go in the Dr.´s speech, you knew the Dr. had him and had him good. Remarkable to watch, but not surprising. Actually a 1/2 hour interior view of Zero´s personality if you watch him and listen to the Dr. at the same time. Every American should watch it in this way, for those that haven´t seen it (we´ve seen it dozens of times) it can only be a real eye opener to everyone except the most extreme Kool-Aid drinkers.

In a perfect world, Dr. Ben Carson would be President of the United States and Barack Obama would still be street-agitating in Chicago.

Note also that the young Marine who confronted Dianne Feinstein with his letter, "No Ma´am" (I love that form of address) also said, in his interview on CNN, "Unconstitutional ´laws´ aren´t laws." His name? Joshua Boston.

Should we soon expect from Dr. Carson his new book: "Dreams From My Mother"? [What an amazing contrast between his and Obama´s moms!]

It appears the Republican Party establishment and some conservative commentators have come up with another mistaken tactic to woo the low information and undecided voters. With the avalanche of scandals swirling around the Obama administration and the Democratic Party, the political message promoted by these politicians and pundits is that these scandals are the outcome of a government that has grown too large to control and should therefore be dramatically cut back.

The current abusive conduct by the IRS is breathtaking in its audacity. When you look at last Friday´s testimony Acting Commisioner Steven Miller there is a clear disconnect -- the doesn´t think anyone did anything illegal, unconstitutional, or even wrong. Apart from a stark posture of arrogance and negative body language, he represents a very large group of people we need to worry about. This guy is beyond zealotry -- he has gone straight to certainty that he is right, his actions are justified and he can´t be touched. He´s like Obama´s buddy Bill Ayers

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

By all accounts, today´s college campuses grow more intolerant by the day. We move closer to the old Soviet Empire, where political dissidents risked the gulag for even joking about Marxism. In the U.S., however, the hate crimes concern anything that touches on race, ethnicity, gender differences, diversity, and sexuality (see here and here). Even an old-fashioned ethnic joke almost guarantees mandatory counseling. Skeptics need only look at the pervasiveness of campus speech codes, coerced sensitivity training, the mandatory injection of multicultural propaganda into courses, and other top-down censorship.

BALTIMORE — Trying to reset the agenda amid scandal in Washington, President Barack Obama turned his attention Friday to the economy and said lawmakers should spend every day resolute on how to help it grow and get people back to work. “Our focus cannot drift,” he said. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
