| Late on the night of April 8, 2011, Washington’s leaders announced that they’d just done something extraordinary. They had agreed to cut the federal budget — and cut it big. “The largest annual spending cut in our history,” President Obama called it in a televised speech. To prevent a government shutdown, the parties had agreed to slash $37.8 billion: more than the budgets of the Labor and Commerce departments, combined. This is a rather odd revelation,considering Obama and the media are blaming budget cuts for the lousy 4th quarter last year. No we find out there really weren´t any to speak of.
10 bucks says Obama will blame budget cuts for the staggering economy in the SOTU speech Tuesday night.
Whatever Obama says,just believe the opposite and you´ll be fine.

Cuts in DC speak is a cut to the automatic 8% increase to last year´s expenditures. There is no cuts like us paeons have to take.

Exactly, #5. We must demand that they knock off 8% before even starting the spending cuts. democrats scream when the automatic increase of 8% is reduced to 5% and call it a cut, but it is STILL an increase in spending. This has to stop.

37.8 Billion is 1% of federal spending.
And federal spending for FY 2011 was 4% more than FY 2010.
Republicans don´t really want to cut spending. They just want it to look that way. At least the Democrats are honest about wanting to bankrupt the country.

The latest reporting in the matter of Fox News Channel’s James Rosen indicates the Obama administration fought to keep the search warrant for Rosen’s private email account secret, arguing that the government might need to monitor the account for a lengthy period of time. WASHINGTON — Haynes Johnson, a pioneering Washington journalist who won a Pulitzer Prize for his coverage of the civil rights movement and migrated from newspapers to television, books and teaching, died Friday. A FREE press in a democracy demands a delicate balance. The First Amendment means the media must have the right to inquire without hindrance. The government has a legitimate interest in keeping some national security information secret. When these come into conflict, the balance often has been struck this way: The media are free to pursue secrets, but it is up to those in government to keep them. When the media come into possession of information that, if disclosed, could be damaging, the government can plead the case for secrecy — and the media generally are open to persuasion.

The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) have reversed their longstanding membership guidelines to allow homosexuals to join the organization.
