| A phenomenon we all needed came into our view at National Prayer Breakfast 2013, and it couldn’t have come along at a better time. The phenomenon in the person of Dr. Ben Carson didn’t just upstage President Barack Obama when he spoke at Thursday’s National Prayer Breakfast, he restored amazing grace to a loudly-lauded event. How can we take to heart an event touted as “inspirational” and beneficial to federal government officials when they piously break breakfast bread before returning to careers duking it out in House and Senate?
|
Comments: It sure is a pleasure reading uplifting articles about such an honorable man. I can´t remember the last time I felt so good in listening to someone speak. He has struck a chord in us and shows that the American people are hungry for a leader who loves this country and all it has to offer. What a lovely change. He is the very antithesis of Barack Hussein 0bama.

Somebody needs to tell that oafish baboon Bob Beckel that this was 100% appropriate for the Prayer Breakfast. It could not have been more inspirational, more tone-perfect for these or any times. Carson has become a national hero to quite a few. A breath of very fresh, invigorating, restorative air.

Dr Carson´s message was pitch-perfect, of course. A pleasant secondary effect was watching the sourpuss President reacting to it.

We certainly need him right now. More and more very good people are surfacing...Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Rick Perry, Michelle Bachmann, Rand Paul, Allen West, Glenn Beck....I´m sure anyone reading this can add twice as many names to this list. Tiny bit by tiny bit, I´m beginning to find the courage to hope...just a little. Now if Karl Rove would just quit resembling an anchor around our feet....

Watch obama´s face. While I don´t know exactly what he is thinking I can sure guess and I bet I am close. Dr. Carson is more qualified to run this country than that dork pretending to be president wishing he was playing golf. Thank you sir, we needed that moment listening to you speak from the heart.

Glad you watched it #2! I really was moved when I saw it. Dr. Carson is really an inspiration. It is too bad that most of the lefties and seminar posters on Mediaite are so nasty, rude and ignorant in their comments about him after the other article about him. I hope more articles come out about his speech at the NPB.

Dr.Carson demonstrated that the best way to connect with people is simplicity and common sense. Politicians get too wrapped up in nuisance and parsing for people to connect.
I also got the impression that he doesn´t care for the left blaming successful people for this country´s problems, especially over this fair share crap.
Medical savings accounts should be the way everybody gets health insurance. For one thing,i tmakes people aware of wasteful dr visits and tests. You have a certain amount of money for out of pocket expenses, then you pay out of your own pocket.
Obamacare wouldn´t have been a problem if it just required people to buy catastrophic insurance, not a-z coverage. It´s the big unpaid surgeries that are causing the cost shifts.
the left still sticks to the belief that this is the richest country in the world and everybody should be entitled to free healthcare.

True greatness isn´t attained by soaring rhetoric but by the revelation of simple yet profound truths. Ben Carson reminded us that a nation that loses its reverence for life and the protection of the most vulnerable among us, the unborn and those near the end, will itself not survive long. The soul of a nation withers before its body dies.

Dr. Carson spoke from the heart without teleprompter. How truly wonderful.
Our President sat there looking more uncomfortable as the speech continued.
Instead of being a community rabble rouser he and his wife actually help children and do not take excuses as a reason for failure.
Now why would this make Obama so uncomfortable?

Dr. Ben Carson is justifiably proud of his phenomenally noteworthy past and is all too willing to be totally open and aboveboard by telling the entire world about it. Contrast the good doctor with BHO, the most deceptively artful dodger who ever attained high public office by going to unprecedented lengths in concealing everything he could about the emptiest of empty suits that he truly is. Carson worked his way up. Obama sneaked his way in. The perspective between the two is breathtaking. The comparisons are incomparable.

Remember the scene from "Dirty Dancing" where the gigolo dance instructor thanks the doctor who saves his girlfriend´s life after a botched abortion? It suddenly dawns on him after meeting a person of real accomplishment that his easy-going, partying lifestyle adds up to nothing. I wonder if similar thoughts occurred to BO when he met Dr Carson? BO tricked & defrauded his way into public office, but he knows better than anyone what a nothing he is. Maybe that is why he seemed so uncomfortable. He was in the presence of REAL greatness & the contrast was undeniable.

I too listened to the speech and was impressed and moved like many on this thread. I wouldn´t hesitate to vote for the good doctor. It is obvious president Zero is quite uncomfortable. Worth watching just for that.
After watching, I asked myself the question... "Would Mitt Romney or Paul Ryan disagree with anything Dr Carson stated?" I think they would fully agree. Yet we conservatives couldn´t unite behind that ticket. We have many other qualified republicans, Rubio, Paul, Cruz, Perry, etc, who would all agree completely. Somehow we always find some issue where we disagree and throw these quality candidates under the bus. Already happening to Rubio. My guess is we would do the same to Dr Carson.

Here is how you know that Dr. Carson knows God:
“It really didn’t matter who I was sitting in front of. Before I speak, I ask God to give me the right things to say.”
Any committed Christian who is used to public speaking or teaching knows that when you turn to God for the right words, He gives them to you. Dr. Carson is the real deal, but you can rest assured the Left will begin its character assassination post-haste.
Did you watch Obama during Dr. Carson speech? I watched him the whole half hour and he was alternately bored, angry, infuriated at the effrontery of Dr. Carson´s words and vengeful. You could see barely-disguised disdain and fury: "I´ll get you, my pretty. And your little dog, too."
RUN, BEN, RUN! For POTUS.

What a stark contrast in character, dignity and grace from the mean, snarky little man who now occupies the Oval Office.

The revelation that the government’s talking points in the wake of the Benghazi attacks were edited to reflect the concerns of a variety of federal agencies has sparked a firestorm of controversy in recent weeks. Some early reports on that email exchange created the erroneous impression that the White House was more deferential to the concerns of State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland, who sought to remove from those talking points a variety of references suggesting the Benghazi attack was the result of a coordinated act of terror. The actual interagency email exchange, released by the Obama administration on Wednesday,

DENVER — Colorado sheriffs upset with gun restrictions adopted in the aftermath of last year’s mass shootings filed a federal lawsuit Friday, challenging the regulations as unconstitutional. The lawsuit involves sheriffs from 54 of Colorado’s 64 counties, most representing rural, gun-friendly areas of the state. The sheriffs say the new state laws violate Second Amendment protections that guarantee the right to keep and bear arms. Opponents are criticizing the lawsuit as political maneuvering. The filing targets Colorado laws that limit the size of ammunition magazines and expand background checks. The regulations

WASHINGTON – Jay Devereaux hadn’t paid much attention to the daily drumbeat of partisan politics in D.C. He wasn’t a Washington nerd, and didn’t know who said what during congressional hearings -- nor did he care. But when news broke that the government was using taxpayer money to bail out Wall Street banks, he started paying attention and didn’t like what he was hearing. So the Florida father and information technology specialist decided to form a group, Unite in Action, to educate people in his area about the issues, he said.

WASHINGTON — Congressional Republicans, not resting with the Internal Revenue Service scandal, are moving to broaden the matter to an array of tax malfeasances and “intimidation tactics” they hope will ensnare the White House. Republican charges range from the clearly questionable to the seemingly specious, and they grow by the day. On Friday, lawmakers sought to tie the I.R.S. matter to the implementation of President Obama’s health care law, which will rely heavily on the agency. Whether they succeed holds significant ramifications for Mr. Obama,

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says it wants as many as 20 percent of its workers to "telework," use an "alternative work schedule," or do both, in order to "reduce green house gas emissions," decrease "employee stress," and give these government workers more time for "planning and preparing healthy meals." So says one of the HHS "performance measures" detailed in an appendix to the department´s latest strategic plan. HHS´s performance measure "4.D.05" says: "Increase the percent employees on telework or on Alternative Work Schedule." Telework means working from home via phone and computer.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
