| Though India´s nationwide elections are not scheduled until 2014, the campaign is already underway as the Conservative opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gets set to name Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi as its candidate for prime minister. (Snip) Modi´s Reaganesque message of optimism resonates with Indians discouraged with the ruling left-center Congress Party that has ruled for all but 12 years of India´s existence as a nation. Economic "malaise" has set in, confidence in the future has dropped, and people believe that the government is unable to deal effectively with either leftist or Islamist terror

Interestingly, Modi sounded quite a lot like former President Ronald Reagan of the US and Mrs Margaret Thatcher of Britain of the 1980s, both credited with the big push towards liberalisation in their respective countries. And quite a lot like Deng Zhao Ping of China, also from the 1980s, with his strong efforts to downsize Government and Government’s interference, and promote the private sector in its place.
Modi said: “The Government has no business doing business. Minimum Government, maximum governance is my principle”. Given that the Government of India has grown very unwieldy, slow, bureaucratic, and colossally expensive to maintain, this outlook is definitely most welcome.

India can be a superpower with someone like Modi at the helm.
He is not corrupt and takes crap from no one.
Most Indians are tired of being treated like second class citizens in their own country in order for Congress party pols to get votes from Muslims. For example, the Indian govt. which is supposed to be secular allows Muslims to legally have 4 wives. Not only that, they give money to Muslims who want to go to Mecca for their Hajj.

Today, Modi is India´s Sarah Palin. The left will hound him, demonize him. The Media will suppress, distort, lie. But..it seems the people are waking up.

Mark Sanford has won the South Carolina special election in a competitive race for what in normal circumstances is a safe Republican seat. The former governor beat Democrat Elizabeth Colbert Busch, the sister of comedian Stephen Colbert Busch, for the state’s 1st congressional district. The AP called the race for Sanford early in the evening, with the Republican leading Colbert Busch 54 percent 46 percent.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

The fact that this bit of information was conveyed to the protesters by a Department of Homeland Security officer who was also in attendance. What was a DHS agent doing at the San Jose Tea Party protest? (snip) they weren´t just spying on us in San Jose and monitoring us in San Francisco, they were watching us throughout the entire state

Longoria, 38, took home a real degree (not an honorary one) in Chicano studies from Cal State Northridge, where she physically attended classes for three years, according to TMZ. "Big day today!!! On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.
