I think he´s right.

There are things we are going to have to compromise on, and quite frankly, I would rather compromise on social issues than on fiscal ones.

Immigration is something where we as conservatives ARE NOT going to get everything we want. We have 12 million people that we CANNOT realisitcally deport on force compliance on because "WE" have been part of the problem by electing leaders who would not nip this problem in the bud. This situation is what it is, now we can either make it work FOR us, or make it work against us.

The borders MUST be secure before the end of this process, the process time must be clearly defined and it must be followed through, but waiting to address this problem in a way where we can work it to benefit conservatives is not an option we can take if we want to win...and I think we need decide whether or not we want to win.

That said, we have to support our candidates 100% especially the new ones. I can get behind Rubio, Jindal...and that woman senator from New Hampshire...Kelly Ayotte...I like her.

McCain, Rove and their ilk, are done for me. They won´t go easy...but they will go if we decide they are done. We can afford to get rid of them, and we should.

Liberals are in lockstep, aren´t they? The true battles of political principle are among conservatives. It is because we have principles but sometimes I do wish we could be more cooperative.

Look the hardcore left wing Bush hating, oli hating, SUV hating, gun hating, rich hating wing of the Democrat party took over the party. Now it´s time for the hardcore Bush loving, oil loving, SUV loving, rich and poor loving gun loving Constitution loving wing of the Republican Party take it over.

Blow overlooks the fact that everyone in the conservative spectrum still has a common enemy to unite against at some point. The liberals are in lock step because they as afraid of the Obama machine as anyone.

One of the number one rights the founders gave us was the ability to openly question the government. Try that in an open forum on Obama and see how many death threats you get.

On the other hand you have tons of liberals rooting for the cop killer in LA.

"Loopy"? "Loopy"? You have Biden, Pelosi and Obama - poster people for Loopyness - not to mention media cheerleaders from Loopyland like Maddow and Mathews, and you call Tea Party candidates "loopy"? The tragedy is how many in the GOP agree with the loopy NYT (the City Hall of Loopyville) about this.

Blow only knows what he is used to and familiar with in and around the democrat hierarchy (loopy people). He attempts to project his feelings onto republicans.

Blow completely ignores Ted Cruz. Senator Cruz beat Rove´s boy, Dewhurst, in our primary despite Dewhurst throwing every trick and accusation in the book at Ted Cruz. The TEA Party candidate beat down the establishment candidate, in a major way.

Senator Ted Cruz is an excellent addition to our US Senate. Too bad Chuck Blow is too clueless to understand what happened in Texas.

Tea party type people have principles by which we live. Compromising and making concessions on those principles destroys what we stand for and destroys what made this country great. The Bible speaks of a singleness of heart - as in opposition to the ´´forked tongue´´ mentality. If we are to have any stability in our nation, we must take a stand. We are, as it is written, wrestling against spiritual wickedness in high places. Maintaining our foundations is essential to the nation´s very existence. We must abandon the shifting sands of political compromise and choose to stand on the solid rock.

I will not forget how we came to have Senator Menendez.

His opponent was Tom Kean, Jr.

Mark Levin decided Kean wasn´t pure enough and ranted and raved against Kean non stop.

Kean showed up late to a Newark fundraiser where VP Cheney was the featured host.

This was a high crime and misdemeanor that sent Levin off on his talibanish act.

So we have Menendez. The senate turned over to the dems and we are now allowing a loudmouth to enhance his ratings at the expense of America.

It is a shame that "moderate" republicans (if you have any historical knowledge, you realize these are just left-wing liberals putting their feet on the path the present day dems have been walking since the 60´s)have no common sense. If you look at the liberal policies these moderates are willing to compromise on, embrace actually, you realize that in a very short period of time, they become HUGE fiscal liabilities. But let´s not make that argument.
As of November, 2012, I came to realize that right now, there is NO political party that represents my views. And compromise on social and economic issues has led us to, and over, the fiscal cliff.

We have a two party system. Only a complete idiot would throw his vote away on a third party candidate, although I am too well acquainted with souls who voted for Ross Perot.

I don´t believe campaign machine superiority matters. It doesn´t take a genius to find out when election day is, who is running, and where you vote.

People who sit on their hands - in some cases, because one candidate is not of their particular religious persuasion- are a disgrace and an abomination. Two party systems make it simple: figure out which one of two candidates comes closest to your views and vote for him. I am embarrassed for us.

#12 -- and a lot of Establishment RINO Republicans bashed Sharron Angle, who DID have a real chance of beating Dingy Harry.

If you´ll remember, the GOP Governor candidate handily beat Dingy Harry´s offspring. And the kid knew Daddy Dingy was in trouble so much that he only campaigned using his first name!

This game goes both ways. There are a lot of "establishment" candidates that ran for Senate last time that should have won, but they didn´t. And I´m betting they got a lot of tea party voters.

But hey, if we´re looking to the New York Times for advice, well, it´s kinda like a sheep asking a wolf what he´d like for lunch.

Since its creation, the GOP has always been secular, progressive and corporatist at its core, having nothing to do w/principled conservatism. Never; despite pious platitudes floated every election year. This reality should be as self evident as 2+2=4. The reason nothing changes in DC, except the weather, is that there is no core difference between parties. None. The debate is over which can deliver big government more efficiently. Sadly many fervently believe otherwise and remain in thrall to their delusions and fantasies.
