House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) will bring a child from Newtown, Conn. and her mother to the State of the Union, she told reporters Friday.* The names of the guests were not immediately available. At the same news conference, Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) said he’s bringing Carol Price, “who lost her son to gun violence many years ago, and her son’?s death actually stimulated the Maryland gun legislation many years ago to require trigger locks be sold with guns so you wouldn’?t have these awful tragedies.”
Comments: I really feel sorry for those poor grieving people who are being used, abused and exploited by the vile, sick Democrats. This sickens me to my core.
Psychologists talk about a condition called survivor guilt. It is a condition where a survivor of a violent situation deals with guilt for survivinng the violent situation, where others die. Imagine how much more difficult it must be for a child to deal with that! The NFL exploited children (some of whom did not attend the sandy hook elementary school) and now Pelosi disgustingly does the same thing.
I´m sory, I and many others believe that the Newtown event is a magnificent hoax produced by Obamawannajihad, his minions and the MSM in order to scare Americans into giving up their weapons. Ms. Bellapelosi is bringing these actors to the State of the Disunion Address to maintain and manipulate the Newtown illusion. It is Kabuki theater at its finest and most grotesque. Do not fall for the simple parlor tricks and illusions of these evil anti-Chritian zealots!
To those of you buying into conspiracy theories... My daughters (plural) knew Vicki Soto The loss and funeral ARE real I have been an Ldotter since 2000 PLEASE STOP with the theories I´m also a Texas-ex who is all about second amendment rights Happen to be living not too far from Newtown Just to posters questioning authenticity Your theories are unfounded and HURTFUL
Republican Presidents and Republicans in Congress have invited guests to the State of the Union Speech in order to honor and display gratitude to them personally. It is a heart-felt way for the entire country to show respect for such guests and to honor them.
Dem pols invite guests in order to gain political points for themselves and/or their own radical statist agenda. They use their guests as but props. Dem pols are outrageously theatrical, often scripted by hollyweird apparently. mmm mmm mmm
#4 It is my belief that many parents enjoy the grieving and notoriety that now comes with it. TV appearances, press conferences, yearly grief sessions with other grievers, testifying before congress and possible book and movie deals, free ball games and the moral high ground FOREVER.

The sad fact is that the dead children of these grieving parents would most likely be alive today if the Newtown school had had an armed security guard posted at the office or if the office personnel had been armed to protect themselves and their young students.
"Gun free zones" signs are not effective protection against gun toting leftist lunatics.
Gunmen have killed a U.S. citizen working at an international school in the Libyan city of Benghazi, medical and security sources said on Thursday. The attackers shot the American man, who was an instructor or teacher at the Benghazi school, while he exercised in the morning, the sources said. No one claimed responsibility for the shooting. The U.S. ambassador to Libya was killed in late 2012 when Islamist militants assaulted the U.S. consulate in Benghazi.
The Department of Health and Human Services has crowned a YouTube video entitled “Forget About The Price Tag” as the grand prize winner in a contest meant to encourage young people to sign up for Obamacare. The video contest, announced in August — in partnership with a group called Young Invincibles — encouraged participants to produce clips filled with pro-Obamacare messaging. HHS’s grand prize-winning video, announced Monday by the White House, features a young woman named Erin McDonald singing an Obamacare-loving version of Jessie J’s hit single, “Price Tag.” Without a hint of irony, McDonald sings her chorus: “Ain’t about
A Texas middle school principal has been placed on paid leave after she banned the speaking of Spanish by students while in class. In Hempstead, a town of about 6,000 about 50 miles northwest of Houston, a school district spokeswoman confirmed that Amy Lacey has been placed on leave pending investigation of her Nov. 12 announcement over the intercom at Hempstead Middle School. More than 50 percent of the school enrollment of about 330 students is Hispanic. KHOU-TV of Houston reports a letter was sent by the district to school parents on December 2 assuring that neither the district nor
Republican lawmakers bashed the Obama administration at a House Judiciary Committee hearing Tuesday for opting not to enforce core parts of the Affordable Care Act, such as minimum requirements for individual healthcare plans. Rep. Trent Franks (Ariz.), the chairman of the Judiciary panel’s Constitution and Civil Justice subcommittee, said Congress should sue the administration to spur Obama to enforce the healthcare law as written. “I think that’s the only choice we have, and that’s not just on ObamaCare, that’s on a host of different things,” Franks told The Hill. “He simply embodies a breathtaking arrogance that ignores the law he’s sworn to
Sunny, the Obama’s new puppy, knocked down a two-year-old girl Wednesday who was visiting the White House for the unveiling of the holiday decorations. Sunny and Bo were brought into the State Dining Room to visit children who were taking part in holiday crafts. The year-old puppy tried to escape her handler, knocking down 2-year-old Ashtyn Gardner in the process. The little girl got up quickly and her dad John said she was fine. Michelle Obama was present and helped Ashytn to her feet. The First Lady later checked on the little girl again. Obama was unveiling the 2013 holiday decorations and had invited
Just over two weeks ago, MSNBC host Martin Bashir delivered a harsh piece of commentary that culminated in the suggestion that someone should “s-h-i-t” in former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin‘s (R-AK) mouth. Bashir offered an abject apology on his next broadcast, but a chorus of critics continued to demand action against the host. After a reported “vacation” for the host earlier this week, Bashir announced, Wednesday afternoon, that MSNBC and Martin Bashir are parting ways. Here’s the statement from Martin Bashir, via email: After making an on-air apology, I asked for permission to take some additional time out around the Thanksgiving holiday. Upon
Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) on Tuesday reintroduced legislation that would require the government to study the most practical ways of taxing drivers based on how far they drive, in order to help fund federal highway programs. Blumenauer´s bill, H.R. 3638, would set up a Road Usage Fee Pilot Program, which he said would study mileage-based fee systems. He cast his bill as a long-term solution for funding highway programs, and proposed it along with a shorter-term plan to nearly double the gas tax, from 18.4 cents to 33.4 cents per gallon. "As we extend the gas tax, we must also think about
I have never been much of a conspiracy theorist. For me it was always Oswald by himself from the Texas School Book Depository and nothing in the intervening fifty years has disabused me of this notion. For the most part, I’m an Occam’s Razor kind of guy — the most obvious explanation is likely to be true. (Snip) To put it bluntly, Occam’s Razor has moved. Things that were once possibilities now seem almost certainties to me. Principal among those is that Obama’s academic records are perpetually unavailable for a reason — and that reason is most likely that they reveal
One of President Obama´s chief political assets has been his ability to excite young people like almost no politician in history. But the days of America´s youth fawning over the president are over. A new Harvard University Institute of Politics poll released Wednesday confirms what other surveys have shown in recent months: Millennials have soured on Obama so much this year that their opinion of him largely mirrors the American public´s. Even though Obama does not ever have to face another election, he should be worried about the findings for a couple of reasons, which we will dive into momentarily.
President Obama will cast growing income inequality and a decline in economic mobility as a “fundamental threat to the American dream” during a speech Wednesday in Washington. The speech will serve as an early preview for next year’s State of the Union address, according to a White House official, who said Obama would focus much of his energy over the next three years on the issue. “The decisions we make over the next few years will determine whether or not our children will grow up in an America where, if you work hard, you can get ahead,” the official said.
Good stuff from Jonathan Turley at today’s House hearing on executive power, although I regret that I couldn’t find a more user-friendly format for you to watch. There’s no compilation clip; you’ll have to make do with the C-SPAN embed by fast-forwarding to the time cues I give you and being patient while the vid buffers (and buffers, and buffers).(Snip)That brings us to point two: Even if Congress can’t stop Obama, the courts can. The problem there, though, says Turley, is that O and the DOJ have argued successfully in many cases that no one has standing to sue him
During a presentation at the White House in which President Barack Obama touted the benefits of the Affordable Care Act, the president declared that his signature health care reform law was not going to be repealed. This assertion led his administration members, his staff, and audience members to rise from their seats and give the president a standing ovation. Obama said that ACA opponents’ alternative to the health care reform law is to champion repeal and going back to the health care delivery system status quo ante. He specifically cited Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) who he said was asked directly for
A woman has revealed how difficult it is to eat healthily and stay full when living off an average food stamp budget. Melinda Moulton, from Huntington, Vermont, was one of 200 people to take part in the 3Squares Challenge, which saw her living for a week on just $36 worth of food, or around $1.71 a meal. Opting to try and eat as healthily as possible, Ms Moulton resorted to cheap foods like yogurt for breakfast, two handfuls of peanuts for lunch and lentil stew for dinner, all of which left her unsatisfied.´I don´t know how people do it,´ said
[Video] President Obama on Wednesday declared that addressing income inequality would be the focus of “all” of the White House’s efforts “for the rest of my presidency.” In a sweeping address that touched on raising the minimum wage, investing in infrastructure and ending tax breaks for the wealthy, Obama warned that the American economy has become “profoundly unequal,” declaring economic mobility the “challenge of our time.” “The combined trends of increasing inequality and decreasing mobility pose a fundamental threat to the American dream, our way of life, and what we stand for around the globe,” he said in an hour-long
