| The Five kicked off their Fox News show today with a look at Dr. Benjamin Carson, the pediatric neurosurgeon who spent 25 minutes at Thursday’s National Prayer Breakfast outlining his opposition to President Obama‘s policies… while President Obama was sitting next to him. After playing some highlights from Carson’s scathing speech, including his alternative to Obamacare, host Kimberly Guilfoyle played a clip of Rush Limbaugh‘s praising the doctor: “This is the kind of thing the Republican party should have been saying for the past four years.”
|
Comments: Bob Beckel jumped ugly on Dr. Carson, not once but twice - the second time at the end of the program. He is a nasty bugger who should be cut loose from this otherwise good program.

Thanks for the heads up, #2. I heard Dr. Carson yesterday, as well. Dr. Carson is so much much more intelligent, rational, and accomplished than 0bama. I´m sure 0bama was seething inside.

Where ARE the Republicans? Aside from Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz and Rand Paul, they all seem to be deaf, dumb and mute. Benghazi should be front and center.

Dr. Carson put Zippy in his place on all and every level.
Twas a most wonderful thing to see.
You could actually see Zippy physically shrinking.
Dr. Carson is also a very brave man ...
... he could meet the same fate as Breitbart.

Right you are OP. Beckel is a nasty bugger. I could barely contain my fury when I looked at his hateful, nasty face. It really gets tiresome when all the rest of them on the Five talk about what good friend Bob is. It´s just sickening. I couldn´t spend five minutes in the same room with that contemptible, disgusting old fool.

Dr. Carson is absolutely right, or correct, except for the part about the electronic medical record, which is a counterproductive farce.

Just like the 1st debate with Romney, the Marxist Druid president is made to look like the intellectual-non-college-transcript-releasing half-wit he is (all praise be upon him).
Did the doctor return the President´s sack after the event?

I, for one, am sick of some of these totally misleading headlines. Most people don´t bother to read the articles before they post so would have thought ALL five of The Five panel concurred. Regardless of anyone´s feelings about Bechel, he vehemently disagreed with the others and the headline should have reflected that.

We watched "The Five" when this came on and HOOTED at the screen!
The best part was when Greg Gutfeld compared the lack of intelligence of Dr. Carson to the erudite Sandra Fluke. Greg is so good!
Bob nearly blew a gasket, and he showed his bias and ignorance as usual.

#8, I would argue that the electronic records are useful to physicians, especially specialists like Dr. Carson. His time is precious, and he can take care of many more patients than the paper records shuffling that he would do under the old system. My problem with the electronic records is one of central government control on procedures and medications, and indirectly, on gun control. The former is a step in the direction of death panels (already used in England) and the latter means that if the central government chose to define mental illness based on medications ever taken, it would disqualify a huge percentage of the citizenry on buying a gun. If you were prescribed valium or xanax for the stress of a family funeral, it is not much of a stretch to believe you could be rejected for gun ownership.

#3, watching Dr. Carson and taking notes, I hope. What we saw as he made that speech is exactly what half of Amerca is desperate to hear a politician say. The knuckleheads in the GOP just cannot see it.

obama is a small petty little man. I would do more then just talk to him as he was willing to see 30+ people die in Benghazi and left over 300 dead in Mexico and is planning William William Ayers(terrorist and friend of obama for near 30 years) to kill millions of Americans thru the obamacare death panels.

Taxpayers tuning in to Friday´s House Ways and Means hearing on IRS targeting of conservative groups may have expected to hear some hangdog apologies from senior members of the agency. If so, they were disappointed. Acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller, who was fired by President Obama this week but is sticking around to help with the transition, was almost casual about the pattern of biased enforcement that cost him his job. Earlier this week he blamed the political targeting on "rogue" officials in Cincinnati, but on Friday he said the behavior was "obnoxious" but that he does "not believe

Members of Congress grilled former IRS Acting Commissioner Steven Miller on Capitol Hill Friday morning, in an attempt to get answers on the IRS´ inappropriate targeting of conservative-sounding groups that were applying for tax-exempt status. Republicans and Democrats on the House Ways and Means Committee both said that Miller and other IRS officials should have alerted Congress in testimony last year that they knew the agency was giving extra scrutiny to conservative and Tea Party groups.

President Obama announced Wednesday that acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller would resign in the wake of the agency scandal in which conservative groups were targeted -- though Miller was apparently set to step down anyway. An official close to Miller told Fox News, shortly after Obama´s brief announcement, that the IRS chief was "set to resign the position of acting commission as of early June." He was planning to leave the IRS entirely a "couple of months later, regardless of the current controversy," the source said. These details were not mentioned by the president

The director of the Office of Rulings and Agreements, which oversees the determinatons of tax-exempt organizations, is a donor to Barack Obama. Holly Paz donated $2,000 to Obama’s 2008 campaign, according to Open Secrets, which maintains a database of individual political donations. An inspector general’s report released yesterday concluded that the IRS improperly targeted Tea Party and other conservative groups for undue scrutiny, and Paz heads the office in which the wrongdoing is said to have occurred. National Review Online reported earlier today that agency officials are currently copying the hard drives of every employee on Paz’s watch.

WASHINGTON – State Department officials repeatedly objected to -- and tried to water down -- references to Al Qaeda and prior security warnings in Libya in the Obama administration´s initial internal story-line on the Benghazi terror attack, according to dozens of emails and notes released by the White House late Wednesday. The documents were released under pressure after whistle-blowers testified on the Hill and some email excerpts leaked to the media last week. The 100-page file showed that State Department officials were even more heavily involved in editing the "talking points" than was previously known.

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

On Thursday´s NBC Today, in a desperate attempt to deflect from the scandals engulfing the Obama administration, co-host Savannah Guthrie wondered: "I read a headline yesterday that said Republicans see blood in the water. That they see a president who´s very vulnerable politically. Is there a danger that they will overreach?" Chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd agreed with the slanted premise: "There is. I mean, that´s what happened to Republicans in 1998 with Bill Clinton.

President Obama’s press conference in the rain was not a success, if by success, his supporters would mean an event which convinces anyone who doesn’t work for him that he’s getting ahead of the scandal deluge. The sight of a Marine holding an umbrella over his head only added to the weirdness of the event. So what did we learn? 1. He has full confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder, the man who purportedly recused himself (whenever) without putting it in writing (whatever). When asked about the untrammeled snooping on Associated Press reporters and editors,

“I look forward to taking some questions at tomorrow’s press conference,” President Obama said last night, after announcing the resignation of the acting IRS commissioner Steven Miller. The president scheduled a noon press conference today with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in honor of his visit. Reporters, however, found themselves waiting outside in the rain for Obama, who was 47 minutes late. Only New York Times reporter Mark Landler had an umbrella.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.
