Could an actor playing the White Rabbit be racist? Disneyland is being sued by Jason and Annelia Black, who say their African-American children were treated differently than white kids who approached the “Alice in Wonderland” character for hugs and pictures at the Anaheim, Calif., amusement park. According to Fox5SanDiego.com, 6-year-old Jason Black Jr. approached his favorite character at the park, but was rebuffed. Jason told the station, “I went to hug him, but he turned his back. It’s made me feel sad because I wanted to really hug him.” Older brother Elijah reportedly then tried to hold the rabbit’s hand

I guess my Daughter should sue also. My Granddaughter wanted a picture with the Tangled princess, Rapunzel and she was rudely blown off. She cried... I want a million dollars ...

I was offended that I didn´t get to go at all. So I will sue because I wasn´t greeted by ANY of the Disney characters. When I did go to Epcot (about 8 years ago), I was told that I couldn´t have free beer -- which was also rude.

When I get done with them, they will wish that they never set up shop in a country in which people will sue because they didn´t get everything they wanted -- that´ll show ´em.

And I wanted to snog with Snow White, but she rebuffed me. Disney characters must hate old men.

It´s too easy to have the kids pose a certain way and then only submit the photos that make your fraudulent case.

Oh, the horror of it all....

Reply 6 - Posted by: squiggle, 2/8/2013 6:37:58 PM     (No. 9166395)

If the White Rabbit HAD touched the kids, they´d have said he molested or injured them in some way, so they´d still would´ve sued. That´s the mindset.

Reply 7 - Posted by: pearlyjo, 2/8/2013 6:38:47 PM     (No. 9166398)

The White Rabbit was this 6 year-old´s favorite character at the park? Seriously? Aren´t there more up to date and cooler characters than the White Rabbit that this little guy would be drawn to? Just asking.
Maybe the Cracker Rabbit is racist. Who knows? I once had a very friendly dolphin character attempt to feel me up at a park in Australia.
I didn´t sue.

They were offered money to shut up and the park offered a bribe, VIP passes. I wonder if the kid who was playing White Rabbit still works their.

All those years, all those visits, and no one in our family has ever been hugged or touched by any Disney characters. Oh, the inhumanity.

(I have a hunch the park rules say "Don´t tough anyone, especially the children.")

One touch could equate to a lawsuit and the wascally wabbit knew that.

A few years back Disney had a policy, if my memory is correct, of never settling such claims out of court.

It seemed to work. They are a natural target, loaded with money, and in a business that involves direct dealings with millions of people.

There are cameras all over the park. If this happened there will be video. If it did happen, the employee should be terminated. If not, the White Rabbit should sue for defamation of character.

#14, The employee should be terminated for not touching a kid? Someone needs a dose of reality.

I have a cousin who worked as a bartender in the Orlando area. Several of the people who dressed as Disney characters visited the bar on a regular basis. My cousin commented that some of these Disney people were as foul mouthed as can be, and stated that if parents knew what these people were like that wore the Disney character suit at Disney World, they wouldn´t let their kids within ten feet of them.

I should have sued my parents for making us go to Disneyland in the mid-60´s. I hated it at 7 and my brother screamed so loud that security was called. Disneyland was creepy back then and it still is.

I played "Winnie the Pooh" at Disneyland in the summer of 1969, fresh out of High School. I never treated anyone like that though some of the guests would try to mess with us. One time I was attacked by a screaming hoard of Mexican Brownies, that was scary.

I also sexually molested a gal with that big WTP nose, I had her pinned up against a wall, she was laughing hysterically as I had my way.

I have to agree with another poster--there is no way this kid´s favorite character is the rabbit. No way! Maybe in 1958, but not today. The kids today love the Toy Story and Cars characters. Fake, fraud... scam.

I say that Disney should give this black family a coupon for a free dinner at Dennys.

This law suit is preposterous in so many ways. One, who has ever filed a law suit for "not touching" them. Every one at Disney has all kinds of cameras, not to mention the security cams ALL over the park. So if there was any merit to this and film = evidence existed, this suit would never seen the light of day.

This is smacks of JJackson Jr. shakedown, which under BO´s tenure is now the standard play book tactic in getting other people´s money using the "race card" winning lottery ticket.

The muslims are doing the same thing now, all over the US based upon empowerment the Aff. Act. politicians and PC media liberals are spouting daily in every conceivable market.

Just look at USA network´s anti-discrimination, anti-homophobe, anti-bully public announcement campaign.

Basically, if you are a member of a protected or special interest group it is open season on whitey.

Seriously if there is no viable proof, Disney should counter-claim just on principle alone. Hopefully a judge with guts will summary judgment this law suit.

LOS ANGELES -- flocking to Southern California beaches are used to feeding the meter or paying a parking attendant. Not so along the less developed north coast where it´s customary to ditch cars on the shoulder of Highway 1 to surf, swim or picnic. That sandy line that long defined the state´s disparate beach culture may soon fade. In search of new revenue, the state parks system is eyeing parking fees for parts of the Northern California shoreline where none existed or considering hiking rates to visit popular beaches south of Los Angeles during peak periods.

CAIRO — The pale, young Christian woman sat handcuffed in the courtroom, accused of insulting Islam while teaching history of religions to fourth-graders. A team of Islamist lawyers with long beards sang in unison, "All except the Prophet Muhammad." A shooting as the Warriors game let out Thursday night left two fans dead - the driver of a Porsche was killed by bullets and the passenger was killed as he staggered out onto Interstate 880 in Oakland. Now, police are turning to Warriors fans and nearby surveillance video from the O.co Coliseum for help in finding the killers. Oakland police spokeswoman Johnna Watson said Friday that the two men were leaving the arena about 10:35 p.m., when the shooting broke out. Palm Beach, Fla. - On a Monday morning in March, small business owner Mike Ruffer told a group at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, D.C, how his eight Five Guys Burgers and Fries franchise restaurants in North Carolina were faring under the Affordable Care Act, known as Obamacare. Five hours later, the backlash was so intense he had to wonder if that 15-minute speech might kill his company. In fact, Mr. Ruffer is the most recent victim in a troubling pattern of seemingly orchestrated campaigns to silence small business owners who speak out about President Obama’s agenda.

WASHINGTON - The number of Americans filing new claims for unemployment benefits climbed last week at the fastest pace in six months, a worrisome sign for the economy which has been hit by government austerity. Initial claims for state unemployment benefits jumped by 32,000 to a seasonally adjusted 360,000, the Labor Department said on Thursday. That was the biggest jump since November and confounded analysts´ expectations for a more modest increase. Claims for the prior week were revised to show 5,000 more applications received than previously reported. A Labor Department analyst said no states had estimated their data

WASHINGTON — Faced with a trio of controversies, President Barack Obama is trying to halt a perception spreading among both White House opponents and allies that he has been passive and disengaged as unexpected developments consume his second term. The new strategy, underscored in a flurry of new White House actions, signals an Obama team anxious to regain control amid controversies that have emboldened Republicans and threatened to plunge the president´s second term into a steady stream of congressional investigations. On Wednesday, Obama released a trove of documents related to the Benghazi attacks amid revived pressure from Republicans.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
