Calif. lawmakers seek
toughest gun laws in nation

SACRAMENTO, Calif. Weeks after New York enacted the nation´s toughest gun laws, California lawmakers said Thursday they want their state to do even more in response to recent mass shootings, particularly the Connecticut school massacre. Democrats who control the state Legislature revealed 10 proposals that they said would make California the most restrictive state for possessing firearms. They were joined at a Capitol news conference by San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, along with several police chiefs.

Comments:
After reading that horrific article about the DHS nothing surprises me anymore.

when you make gun owners criminals, only outlaws with have guns.
I see they are making sure the citizens can not use their 2nd amendment rights to insure the safety of their country.
Opening up the boarders for any invading army to walk right in knowing no one has a weapon.

Why bother with cultivating a society of free, independent, citizens in an age where people will settle for a pacifier and a crib?

California is a Dem-locked state. If they want it, they can easily vote it in. The voters of this state are insane and will always vote for the Dem. If, by any chance, they vote for a Republican, it´s because the Republican is insane too.

Only the police should be entrusted with such weapons.

Just look at the maniac ex-LAPD cop running wild, and the performance of Torrence PD mistaking a blue pick-up carrying two middle aged Asian women for a gray pick-up carrying a 6-ft tall, 270 lbs., African American homicidal maniac.

>>> The Second Amendment is non-negotiable. Those who seek to infringe upon the rights it protects should be tarred and feathered.

The progressive/communists think 2013 is their year to create a dictatorship in this country. They think the sheeple will go quietly into the night, they haven´t even considered the damage they have done to the military and how they might react. They see the finish line and they just don´t care about anything else.

So the liberal democrat "legislators" in California seek universal gun registration. What´s more they want a ban on any semi-autos, detachable magazines and magazine sizes over 10 to apply retroactively. The final insult is the background check requirement for ammunition purchases. If these progressive fools keep up these attacks on individual liberties, there won´t be a responsible taxpayer left in California.

California is run by an ultra liberal Democrat government, their big problem is that they have already run out of money.

The national liberal Democrats want to turn as much of the USA as they possibly can into an ultra liberal run political region resembling California.

Right now the liberal Democrats don´t have enough voters to get that job done. That´s why they are pushing what they call a special "path to citizenship" for just about all the illegal aliens in the USA, between 11 to 20 million people.

The liberal Democrats know that if they can dupe the wimpy Republicans into giving them the political cover to get their "path to citizenship" amnesty through Congress, that the resulting 10 million or more new voters that they will eventually pick up as a result, will allow the liberal Democrats to permanently change the political balance of the USA to where they can flip states like Arizona, Florida, and Texas into the Democrat column and ensure that the wimpy Republicans never again have a chance to win future national elections, or even control Congress. If that happens the wimpy Republicans will have committed long-term political suicide.

Hey, Gov Moonbeam...why don´t you just get it over and confiscate all firearms in the state under some emergency order. From the legislative actions in your state, the US Constitution and Federal laws don´t matter anyway.

CA lawmakers want the people in the Big Bear area to be unable to defend themselves against this madman killer?

If ever a nightmare scenario proved once and for all what the NRA stands for, this is the case.

Will pepe leMorgon insist that the people in CA don´t have the right to defend themselves. Does he believe it´s his decision?

You can bet that all the msm has extra armed security until this madman is captured.

And turn on CNN and listen to the on air nutjob, Lemon, inciting a race war by insisting that minorities understand this man´s angst at racism.

What is there about California that makes people stay here? When I arrived it was different. Now this place is "enemy territory" and I mean that in every sense of the word. Are you people OK with a predatory government that takes advantage of you, steals your money and gives it to low life and limits your freedom to a point which it is largely gone? The USAF paid me to get rid of people like that in Vietnam and similar people are now completely running the government here.

I will answer that question. Cowards, weak, deplorable, non ethical, and certainly people that I do not want to rub elbows with. People who do not respect freedom. You elected these people, so I will assume you agree with all this. I do not trust anyone who would allow themselves to be treated this way and not take action. By the way, I do not define "words" as action. They are always ineffective.

There are things I can do, and one of them is in process. I am moving to Texas ASAP.

By the way, as the state of California cannot pay its bills. Texas is in the process of refunding billions to the taxpayers there because the government has much more money than it needs. I was raised there, I have realized my error in coming here and am returning.

1. It´s not about the guns. It´s all about control.

2. Reasoned argument on the subject is a fool´s errand. I´ve said that here often. Elsewhere, too.

3. That said, I´ll give myself dispensation to offer an illustration of the idiocy of "gun control" and the claims of "gun control" advocates. Consider the penalties for murder. Consider the penalties proposed for or in place for violating "gun control" laws. Now, proponents of "gun control" believe [or say they believe], and expect us to believe, that criminals and nuts will be stopped by wrist-slap sanctions when they´re not stopped by the harshest penalties, those for murder.

They´re nuts! [The "gun controllers" and the perps both.]

First disarm the criminals!!! That´ll take a few decades!!! Then transform human nature!!! When evil is eradicated, then disarm the rest of the populace!!!

Or. First disarm all advocates of tougher gun laws. And, liberate them from all their security agents, body guards and the like. Then we can re-evaluate, see how things are going.

Check out the interesting picture with that article.

The following is directly taken from the State of California Department of Justice under the heading "THE SIX BASIC GUN SAFETY RULES": "When the gun is not in your hands, you must still think of safety. Use a California-approved firearms safety device on the gun, such as a trigger lock or cable lock, so it cannot be fired."

Anyone see any trigger locks on those evil guns Senor Mayor Villaraigosa is displaying?

The White House is circling the wagons as one of the most feverish periods of President Obama’s tenure enters its second week. Obama and his aides have taken a more aggressive stance in recent days after fumbling their initial response to headline-grabbing scandals at different government agencies. The administration’s strategy is centered on a simple defense: “Our basic thrust is that nobody, here, did anything wrong,” an Obama administration official told The Hill. “That’s why none of this is going to stick.” Even though there is no evidence yet of wrongdoing in the White House,

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg used a commencement speech to push his gun-control agenda, telling graduates of Kenyon College in Ohio that gun control is “something you really should think about.” Bloomberg, who co-chairs Mayors Against Illegal Guns, spent at least $14 million in support of legislation that would have required universal background checks for all gun-buyers. Although the bill died in the Senate on April 17, Bloomberg said the battle isn´t over. “I believe we will win, sooner or later, because I believe that all of you, your generation more than any other at least

Now that Hillary Clinton no longer has a nonpartisan badass day job, the universe is reverting back to its natural state in which Clinton is a controversial figure with a complicated past and more than a few enemies as well as the symbol of some people´s anxieties about women in power. The excuses to engage in the old Hillary Clinton narratives today come in the form of a biopic titled Rodham, which shows the former secretary of state´s early relationship with Bill Clinton in a not totally flattering light, and a report on her 2008 campaign aides by

Swamped in controversies, President Obama and his slow-footed team are essentially telling the American public, “We’re not crooked. We’re just incompetent.” The IRS targeting conservatives, the Justice Department snooping at The Associated Press, the State Department injecting politics into Benghazi, the military covering up sexual assaults, and the Department of Veterans Affairs leaving heroes in health care limbo – each of these so-called scandals share two traits. First, there is some element of “spin," the cynical art of telling just enough of the truth to avoid political embarrassment. Obfuscation and demagogy, the dirty tools of political quackery that

Delivering her only speech at a high school graduation this year, first lady Michelle Obama joked about the failures her husband, President Obama, has encountered in life as she told a graduating class of high school seniors in Nashville, Tenn. today that in order to achieve success in life, they must first experience failure. “When something doesn’t go your way, you’ve just got to adjust. Shortly before the second-term inauguration of Barack Obama this January, I wrote the following of my worries over the Obama way of doing business: But the untruths and hypocrisy hover in the partisan atmosphere and incrementally and insidiously undermine each new assertion that we hear from the president — some of them perhaps necessary and logical. Indeed, the more emphatically he adds “make no mistake about it,” “let me be perfectly clear,” “I’m not kidding,” or the ubiquitous “me,” “my,” and “I” to each new assertion, the more a growing number of people will come to know

The idea that Nancy Pelosi would again become Speaker after the 2014 elections was always something of a Democrat fantasy. It may be a good story to get a lefty to sleep at night, but it wasn´t likely to happen. In the last 100 years, only once has a President´s party picked up seats in the sixth year of a term. Redistricting in 2011 has put many of the seats the Democrats need out of reach. Whatever confluence of events Democrats envisioned would allow them to retake the House have been swept aside by the IRS scandal.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
