| Joining President Barack Obama at Thursday’s National Prayer Breakfast was Dr. Benjamin Carson, a pediatric neurosurgeon with Johns Hopkins Hospital. For 25 minutes at the breakfast, Carson fearlessly articulated a series of conservative principles and reform proposals. He lambasted political correctness, proposed a market-based health care program, and urged pro-growth tax code reform in order to bring down the debt and deficit. (Snip) After attacking politically correct speech as “dangerous” and a “horrible thing,” Carson turned to education. He discussed the scholarship program he manages which is directed at troubled youth.

Well that´s the last time 0bama will let him appear anywhere near him. 0bama did not crack a smile and stuck his hose up in the air while he spoke. You know he hated every minute of that, especially when Dr. Carson didn´t go along with 0bama´s "fair share" concept and received applause for his comments.

The good doctor has more than "gifted hands". He seems to be a man with a gifted heart and mind as well. BTW, you need to watch the movie "gifted hands". Excellent.

Good to see he has a basic understanding of ´fair´. Fair and quality are only cute words to hide loss of liberty and freedom. One can´t have a system of liberty and freedom of choice and ´fairness´. Fairness eliminates choice (liberty is freedom to choose or choice, the more choices, the more freedom). Fairness eliminates choice and liberty because it seeds the power of individual choices to a collective decision making system. In a ‘fair’ system, person A & B choice what Persons C & D must have taken from them in order to give part of it to Persons E & F while keeping the rest. With liberty, one choice what he will take (or earn) and what he will give (or buy). One system allows the individual to decide what is best. The other, one sacrifices their freedom to choice and allows a collective to choice for the individual. This country was not founded on fairness (Give me Fairness, or give me death) but instead on Liberty.

I would like to ask Comrade Obama if it is fair that most professionl athletes are black. Is it fair that only the best athletes are chosen to be on professional teams. Is it fair that only the rich can afford to go to football and basketball games. Is it fair that politicians can fly from DC to California on our dime and use so much jet fuel and still tell us with straight faces that we have to cut down on our gas consumption to and from work? Is it fair for us to have Obamacare when the politicians don´t. Is it fair for politicians to keep their jobs even when they don´t work. I could go on but I think he would get the picture...or not. Duh!

Although I do admire Dr. Carson, and have studied his career and even tried (unsuccessfully) to obtain a coveted appointment for my daughter, I think he and his fellow physicians should have been hollering from the rooftops the danger of Obamacare for the last 4 years. Its all well and good to be front and center now, but a little late to the party.
Did he really think John Roberts´ vote would save us? I know my daughters´ neurologist did.

No-one in Congress had read that 2,700 page disaster before it was passed - and we all know why it had to be passed as per Nancy Pelosi, so why would you, #22, think that any 24/7 doctor/medical professional had the time to read it and think about the ramifications of its cancerous tentacles? The multiple downsides have slowly come to light as legal eagles have pored over the details. It was the pc consequences that kept many from speaking out - and that is no longer a damper now that Dr.Carson had this God Given opportunity to make his voice and thoughts heard beyond the halls of the propaganda press/media.

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services says it wants as many as 20 percent of its workers to "telework," use an "alternative work schedule," or do both, in order to "reduce green house gas emissions," decrease "employee stress," and give these government workers more time for "planning and preparing healthy meals." So says one of the HHS "performance measures" detailed in an appendix to the department´s latest strategic plan. HHS´s performance measure "4.D.05" says: "Increase the percent employees on telework or on Alternative Work Schedule." Telework means working from home via phone and computer.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
