| President Barack Obama´s second term just got under way, but it´s outgoing Secretary of State Hillary Clinton who is far more popular, according to a new Quinnipiac poll testing politicians´ favorability ratings. Need evidence that House Republicans are unpopular? House Speaker John Boehner sits at the bottom of the list, by far, in terms of net favorability. The poll, which surveyed 1,772 registered voters nationally, was conducted between January 30 and February 4. It has a margin of error of +/- 2.3 percentage points. Here´s how all the nine politicians tested fared, from most popular to least.

Hillary, beleaguered failure of Secretary of State, angry, sullen, a nasty piece of work. Rubio, green boy-toy of the Republican establishment, Bush-dark, with the promise of bigger, more compassionate, government in his quota-promised future. Polling is a lazy journalist´s drug of choice. The only thing worse is the other scribes and talking heads who will try to pick it up by the shiny end when the first one digests it.

I am afraid that I have no use for polls - from what I gather from friends and neighbors, many of them won´t answer them, either that or answer and make up stuff. I have had Rasmussn call fairly often and I do try to answer those. I have no idea what they do with the info. I am sure they know what I think of this prez and dims.

Less than a month after the inaugeration and the media are already bottom feeding for his replacement. Who could be worse? Rubio is a definite possibility. Jeb Bush? Snort. Count on Hillary running. She could rival Obama as Slitherer-in-Chief. Much more accomplished liar than the Marxist freak occupying the WH.

Before Congress is finished with the Internal Revenue Service, there’s a serious danger some of us are going to wind up feeling sorry for the auditors.And, honestly, that is not the way we were planning on spending the spring. Especially since it appears that there are people making decisions at the I.R.S. who have the intelligence of a wet Frisbee. But, so far, the Congressional hearings of outrage have been even less sympathetic. Let’s try to come up with some positive thoughts about the recent political fortunes of the Obama White House: • Economy’s getting a little better. Deficit’s dropping. • Bill Clinton had a really terrible second term and look how well things turned out for him. • Nobody in the administration has been caught driving to Canada with Bo the dog strapped to the car roof. It’s been quite a week, what with the I.R.S. scandal, the Benghazi controversy and revelations about the Justice Department’s sweep of The Associated Press’s phone records.

New Orleans police have released a video that shows a possible suspect in the shooting that wounded 19 people at a Mother´s Day parade. The surveillance video shows the crowd dispersing and some falling to the ground before one person in a white T-shirt and dark pants flees. The image of the man isn´t clear but police say they hope someone will recognize him. The wounded included 10 adult men and seven women as well as a boy and a girl, both 10. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
