SOTU and the Oscars are very close on the calendar. Both are overhyped and overanalyzed. Both are appalling displays of autoerotica. Both are hailed as historic when they are quickly forgotten even by the participants.

George Will says the whole thing should be scrapped and that a note from the president would suffice. I agree, unless the format can be changed from its smarmy love-in to a Prime Mnister´s Questions type debate. It would be worth these long years to see Obama grilled mercilessly.

Here is the short version of what he will say:

"i am going to take apart your country because its unfair for some to have a lot and others to have little, so you are going to get screwed over to pay for all of the things I want to do, the Constitution be damned".

There is NOTHING important that PurpleLipps can ever say other than "I resign".

What Barack Obama says in his SOTU speech is irelevent. We now know who he is and what he intends to do to this country. It only remains to figure out what to do to stop the whole destruction of our way of life.

Electing a whole new congress would be a start! Maybe they would have the courage to impeach this worthless excuse for a human being!

I never read the WPost or the NYT et al, and will not read this article, but let me just say, while our lying unaccountable president is speaking I will be watching some, any college basketball game.

How pathetic is WaPo? They are grasping at straws to pretend that his speeches - any speeches - are relevant to this country. All lies. Where is our Congressman who told him that before? We need him more than ever now.

I´ll watch the Rubio response. It´ll give me an idea of what was said.

Heck, I´ll watch the Spanish language response and get more out of it, and I don´t speak it.

I´m considering watching just on the outside chance that a meteor will strike the Capitol mid speech. It would be nice to be able to tell my grandkids that I saw it happen live, the night The United States was saved.
