| Mayor Thomas M. Menino will hunker down with staff at City Hall today as a blizzard slams into the Hub, bringing with it high winds, possibly 2 feet of snow — or more — and a winter wallop not seen in Boston in years. “The forecast is changing slightly so we could be seeing more snow than anticipated,” Menino spokeswoman Dot Joyce said last night. “The mayor is asking everybody to hunker down and be helpful to one another. And hopefully we’ll get the city cleaned up before Monday.” Schools were shut down today

The end of the world for southern NE starts at noon. Every TV station has their people in the streets with a microphone and ruler, waiting...waiting...
If only they spent this much time and energy on corruption and high crimes.

How long before it´s blamed on global warming? But the only reason this is a major catastrophe is that it´s happening one the east coast. Plains states deal with it all the time.

I guess some posters here never experienced something like the Blizzard of ´78. We always have some who poo-poo anything that they don´t have to endure. It´s like those office workers who say "I like the cold". They the ones who never had to work outside in freezing temperatures for 8 hours a day, and only spend an hour or two without their warm hearth.

It does look bad. Prayers for the people affected, especially those who are still trying to recover from Sandy.

No one up here is whining, complaining, or asking for sympathy. The press likes to make a big deal of these things.
Any big city--no matter where it´s located--is difficult to clean up after a major snowstorm of three feet or more. If Boston gets that kind of hit, and it´s up and running by Monday, then they´ve done well.

They eventually brought down President Nixon, forcing him to resign. Mr. Obama is the liberal Nixon — a corrupt chief executive, who is presiding over a lawless administration. BOSTON —U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Warren is calling on Congress to stop student loan interest rates from doubling this summer.The Massachusetts Democrat introduced a bill Tuesday which would let students pay the same interest rate on their government loans as banks. Student loan interest rates are set to jump from 3.4 to 6.8 percent in July. Warren said banks can borrow from the Federal Reserve at an interest rate of less than 1 percent.

The protesters at the Worcester funeral home are right: Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s body doesn’t belong there. He should be buried among his own people, back in the land he called home and among the people whose values he shared. That’s why I say, “Send him back to Cambridge!” (Snip) Sorry, my talk radio friends, but when I hear that a terrorist is taking a dirt nap, I don’t protest, I celebrate. I have no interest in the juvenile “wrap him in bacon and drop him in a shark tank” posturing. Let’s leave the desecration of corpses to the Islamist barbarians.

When the bombs exploded three weeks ago today, I was three miles from the finish line, running toward it. The GoPro video camera I was wearing captured the chaos as we became aware of what had happened — frantic runners scrambling for cellphones to find out whether loved ones were dead or alive, some police officers yelling that “the marathon is canceled” and others telling the throng to just to keep running. I thought that camera was gone, lost in the confusion. But just a few days ago, it arrived in the mail

So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
