| I’m broadly on the side of John Bolton, Rich Lowry, Andy McCarthy (on NRO), and Max Boot (on the Commentary website, Contentions) in their support for the Obama administration’s justification for drone attacks designed to kill Al Qaeda leaders, whether or not they are U.S. citizens. Admittedly, one has to grit one’s teeth and mutter this support from the side of one’s mouth. And I sympathise with Pete Wehner’s desire to convict the President of hypocrisy since he has offered no retraction or qualification of his earlier denunciations of the Bush administrations

It´s not killing an American
on a battlefield is the issue(Though this certainly is an issue) it is the very vague language about who qualifies to be killed and who decides.
This memo(not even a law) has enough holes
that anyone can be deemed a terrorist connected to Al Queda.

I´m not against killing enemies of the United States if we have to, but I´m dead set against the president pointing a finger at an american citizen and saying "Die" without some form of due process. No one should have that kind of power without safeguards. If Barack Obama has time enough to compose a hit list, he has time to consult with the other arms of government to give some legitimacy to their killing.
If the "Blind Sheik" gets a trial then so should an american citizen.

The liberals are the first ones to stand up and cackle abut someone deserving their day in court but here they are defending a death penalty without the slightest construction of a case against the purported terrorist.
My guess is in Obama´s bizarre way of thinking,he´s showing he´s tough on terrorism while paling up with his terrorist allies in the broad middle east.
This guy is so buffoonish and reckless in his policies,that a country like Iran laughs in his face about face to face negotiations.
Iran is probably also insulted that Biden was going to the point man on this. Everybody but the left can see Biden is a joke of a person,let alone VP.
All our foreign enemies are euphoric about Obama getting re-elected. It´s full steam ahead now on war planing or whatever.Obama´s too gutless to law down the law on any country and is making us even more of a laughing stock with someone like Kerry pretending to be a SoS.
You gotta love the parsing of these people taking the blame but not the responsibility of their actions.Not a single head has rolled as a result of 4 Americans being killed in Libya.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

There’s really no reason for the press to suggest that the recent slew of scandals involving the Obama administration — Benghazi, the AP phone-record seizure, the snooping in James Rosen’s e-mail, the IRS’s targeting of conservative groups, and so on — are a confusing jumble.
