| LOS ANGELES - Police believe that the ex-cop being sought after he allegedly killed three people posted a "manifesto" to Facebook threatening "unconventional and asymmetrical warfare to those in LAPD uniform." (Snip)According to documents from a court of appeals hearing in October 2011, Dorner was fired after he made a complaint against his field training officer, Sgt. Teresa Evans. Dorner said that in the course of an arrest, Evans kicked suspect Christopher Gettler, a schizophrenic with severe dementia. Richard Gettler, the schizophrenic man´s father, gave testimony that supported Dorner´s claim.
|
Comments: Latest report five minutes ago was that the pickup truck found burning on a forest road in Big Bear (CA) is registered to Dorner. He is believed to be in the area.

The fact that he now has murdered 3 people probably is a sign that firing him was the correct choice.

I don´t think it will be that easy - he is a huge target but if I were chasing him, I would shoot him on sight. Another life is so unfair to me dolt.

I don´t understand why he killed the athletic coach (Quan). Retribution? He needs to be taken out. Where is Mark Fuhrman when you need him?

This guy gives loose cannons and rabid dogs a bad name.
He even thought Charlie Sheen was some kind of admirable personality.

Re #3, he did a whistleblower on his training sergeant, Teresa Evans, about the kicking incident (see intro). When his grievance went before the LAPD Board of Review, the union lawyer appointed to "represent" him was Randy Quan, a former LAPD captain who apparently knew Evans. Dorner did not prevail and was fired. The Quan girl shot on Sunday with her fiance was Randy Quan´s daughter.

A highly proficient trained shooter with service awards from Iraq, he is a formidable foe. The Big Bear area, if he is still there, is a perfect place for a sniper like him. He is on the offensive.

He was a rabid Obama supporter - a fact that will never make the news reports the way a rabid tea partier or something might.

If he was in Big Bear, I have to wonder if he´s on his way to Las Vegas. Local radio news reports that he owns a small house here.
A lot of fugitives think Vegas is still mob-owned and controlled, and that they can slink in here and not be noticed.
Wrong.

Live television coverage of the search in Big Bear, and now the news conference there, is flashing a banner that today is the 8th anniversary of his first day with the LAPD.

From the news conference, they are now going door to door in Big Bear (there are many weekend homes there that could be vacant today). There are no reports of a vehicle being stolen in Big Bear, so he may still be there.
The temperature is expected to drop to 20 degrees tonight, but he has survival training.

Sorry for the extra post, but we are close to where all this is happening and local news has gone live with its reporting.
Ironically the ski resort where his truck was found burning was offering free lift tickets today to anyone in uniform. He may be in cammos.

If the suspect who was arrested has dementia he may not be able to say which cop kicked him.
Something is mentally wrong with Dorner for him to be so bitter....could he be schizophrenic also, hearing voices that tell him he must avenge his firing. This response just is not normal.

Re #14, good idea to read whole story. Dorner witnessed his training officer kick the man. The man was subsequently released to his father, who noticed injuries. Asked what had happened, the man said an officer had kicked him in the chest. When Dorner was appearing before the Review Board, the man and his father were called as witnesses on his behalf.
I have a hunch that a review of Sgt. Teresa Evans´s records might disclose other incidents of mistreatment of persons in custody.
Dorner chose the wrong way to go with this, but that doesn´t say he wasn´t right about what happened at the LAPD.

Re the manifesto, in addition to declaring war on the LAPD he wanted people to know him. And he wanted to thank those who had been friends at various times in his life. It was a goodbye letter as much as anything.

I haven´t read the entire manifesto yet, but so far it sounds like this was a guy who tried to do good (at least in his mind) but he totally lost it and went nutzo. I am sorry, but where is this proof that he is a "rabid" Obama supporter? Come on...I am starting to see some of the same kind of wild accusations out there that we used to see from the left. And these stories trying to link him as far left as possible?? Is this an attempt by the right to try to distance itself from this guy or an attempt to try to make all leftists look like loons? I am sorry, but this guy is totally wrong to be killing innocent people in order to get attention to his "cause" and most likely has lost his mind. But I don´t see the need to make this political (left vs. right). This is about an individual--it is not about his politics.

At this moment I couldn´t care less about the guy´s politics. He´s allegedly killed three people. Thats reason enough to bring him in or take him down if he won´t come peacefully.

While giving the commencement address at the United States Coast Guard Academy, Vice President Joe Biden confused Connecticut Governor Dan Malloy with Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley. Among the criteria by which the Internal Revenue Service selected groups in for its political targeting program in 2012 was "educating on the constitution and bill of rights" (lowercase in original), according to the Inspector General´s Report. Lois Lerner, who directs the office at the center of that effort, has received her own education in the Constitution.(Snip)Josh Marshall, proprietor of TalkingPointsMemo.com, concedes that Lerner "has every right" to invoke the Fifth Amendment "and may be wise to do so. But that´s a decision that simply is not consistent with her remaining in her job.

CINCINNATI, OH - The claim that the ongoing IRS scandal is limited to low level employees is falling apart. The six Cincinnati workers we have identified, who sent scrutinizing letters to conservative groups with words including "patriot, liberty, tea party or 9-12" in their names are Mitchel Steele, Carly Young, Joseph Herr, Stephen Seok, Liz Hofacre and a woman identified only as Ms. Richards. (Snip) Because all six of our IRS workers have different individual and territory managers, Cindy Thomas is one manager they all have common.

We can now officially call the Obama administration besieged. One of President Obama´s underlings is set to plead her Fifth Amendment Right against self-incrimination in the burgeoning IRS scandal. The Los Angeles Times broke the story: Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won´t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening - or why she didn´t disclose it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor III. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight Committee on Wednesday.

Apple is one of America´s most profitable companies. And it pays a substantial income tax bill to the U.S. government -- by its own account, $6 billion in 2012 and an estimated $7 billion this year. But many tax experts and lawmakers say Apple´s tax bill should be bigger. A lot bigger. The concern is that Apple (Snip), while complying with U.S. laws, is nevertheless taking advantage of loopholes in the tax code to shift a substantial amount of income to offshore subsidiaries in low-tax countries. The result is billions of dollars in profits every year that go untaxed.

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
