RUSH: I mentioned that the Senate Armed Services Committee hearings on the Benghazi consulate attack took place today. Up first, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman General Martin Dempsey testified, and he threw Mrs. Clinton under the bus here. McCain said, "Why didn´t you put forces in place to be ready to respond when all broke loose over there?" DEMPSEY: Because we never received a request to do so, number one, and number two -- MCCAIN: You never heard of -- of the Ambassador Stevens´ repeated warnings about the lack of security?
From 6 pm to midnight, where WAS Obama? There was nothing on his calander, and he left for Las Vegas the next day. He never touched base with Panetta or Hillary to keep up with what was happening in Benghazi during the night. He just disappeared...... POOF
The fact that the White House was willing to volunteer that Obama went to bed when an American consulate was under siege , with the welfare of 30 +Americans , including the Ambassador , was unknown indicates that Obama´s actual behavior that night must have been much worse. The fact that he was not a participant nor interested in the unfolding national security crisis is textbook Dereliction of Duty. The media glosses over the fact that Obama was also MIA during a failed al Queda attack on a Northwest Airlines flight on final approach to Detroit on December 25, 2009. Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab was tackled by passengers as he tried to detonate a bomb concealed in his underwear on flight 253. Obama did not become aware of the attack until three hours later. Three hours is a long time for a POTUS to be MIA during a terror attack. " White House spokesman Bill Burton said Friday that Obama, on vacation in Hawaii, was informed of the incident about three hours after the plane landed. Obama then held a conference call with Homeland Security and counter-terror adviser John Brennan and NSC chief of staff Denis McDonough. Burton said that in a subsequent call, Obama instructed that all appropriate measures be taken to increase security for air travel.” Good thing that there weren´t other airline bombers. The Republicans grilling Brennan during his current CIA confirmation hearings must ask him about Obama being absent during yet another attack. For context , Reggie Love was along on this trip to Hawaii. A Do Not Disturb sign on their bedroom door is no excuse for this type of derelict behavior.
You know what?? Its over guys. OVER. No one but us here on Lucianne are interested. Oh, maybe a few on other sites, maybe a few others in DC, but for the most part, not enough are interested to make a difference. Boehner and his crew are wimps and pu$$ys, and will not stand up for the country. Chuckie Boy Scummer (intentional spelling) and his crew are more than willing and able to stand up to the pu$$ys, and Johnny Boy and others just bend over and take another..... Its OVER. The only thing left is to prepare to take care of our families. Maybe those of us who think alike can band together in our respective areas to help each other, and I would love to do that....but.....
Okay that still doesn´t excuse either of the two for not acting. Look what happened to the two ranking officers who did try.. Ordered stand down then relieved of duty. Where are the 39 rescued? Was Barry even in DC. it´s only a short jump to Chicago when you have rides on your side.
President Obama has found someone to blame for the Affordable Care Act´s rolling failures besides Republicans. ObamaCare is the government´s fault, not his. On Thursday, Mr. Obama dropped by American University for a heart to heart with Chris Matthews, and the MSNBC host wondered who in the executive branch is responsible for the botched health-care rollout. Mr. Obama listed a few impersonal culprits including "cynicism," "Washington gridlock" and "the management of government," but he then drifted into another classic. "The challenge, I think, that we have going forward is not so much my personal management style or particular issues around White House
Jobs Report: November´s numbers were stronger than expected, a phrase rarely uttered since this president took the economic reins. But while a bigger number is always better, one good month now and then won´t cut it. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the economy created 203,000 jobs in November, 196,000 of which were in the private sector. Now at 7%, the unemployment rate has fallen to the lowest level in five years. What´s more, unlike in previous months, the rate´s drop came from gains in employment, not from people dropping out of the labor force. The labor force participation rate actually
Executive Orders: A liberal constitutional scholar warns of the concentration of power not only in the hands of one branch of government but in a single man who ignores the Constitution and acts of Congress on a whim. As the story goes, Benjamin Franklin emerged from Independence Hall at the close of the Constitutional Convention in Philadelphia on Sept. 18, 1787, when a woman asked, "Well, Doctor, what have we got, a republic or a monarchy?" Franklin is said to have replied, "A republic, madam — if you can keep it." The Founders designed a system of checks and balances among three
Most presidents have politically troublesome relatives: Jimmy Carter had colorful brother Billy, Bill Clinton had brother Roger, and the George Bushes had son/brother Neil, who was involved in both the savings-and-loan scandal of the 1980s and Asian "sex romps" that emerged in a messy 2003 divorce. Obama has a passel of half-siblings, but his requisite nettlesome relative may turn out to be an uncle, Onyango (Omar) Obama. In August 2011, Uncle Omar was pulled over in Framingham, Mass., for driving under the influence. His arrest revealed both several outstanding orders for his deportation and his relationship to the
RUSH: Here is Wolf Blitzer. Last night on The Situation Room, Wolf Blitzer had in Fareed Zakaria GPS. I guess Fareed had his location device with him. He calls himself "Fareed Zakaria GPS." When you´re with him, I guess, you always know where you are. And they´re talking about the impact of the passing of Nelson Mandela, and this is classic. Listen to Wolf here... BLITZER: Is it overly naive to hope and pray that maybe the death of Nelson Mandela will inspire some of those world leaders out there right now to do the right thing, to recognize that bloodshed and
WASHINGTON — Without Nelson Mandela, there might never have been a President Obama. That is the strong impression conveyed from Mr. Obama, whose political and personal bonds to Mr. Mandela, the former South African president, transcended their single face-to-face meeting, which took place at a hotel here in 2005. It was the fight for racial justice in South Africa by Mr. Mandela that first inspired a young Barack Obama to public service, the American president recalled on Thursday evening after hearing that Mr. Mandela, the 95-year-old world icon, had died. Mr. Obama delivered his first public speech, in 1979, at
RUSH: We mentioned earlier that Obama didn´t know that Obama was living with his uncle, who happened to be an illegal alien at the time. Here´s Jay Carney. This is yesterday afternoon in Washington the White House at the daily briefing. Ed Henry, the Fox News White House correspondent, said, "The White House said that in 2011, that there was no record of Obama and his uncle, Omar Obama, ever meeting. Now the Boston Globe is being told by the White House -- and I assume you can elaborate here, Jay -- that, in fact, they not only met, but
The question all week long was this: Who are you going to believe, an illegal alien or the president of the United States of America? Obviously, if it’s a president who once went by an alias, Barry Soetoro, you go with Uncle Omar, 100 percent, no questions asked. And so it was that the White House finally admitted to another, uh, misstatement — despite previous denials, Barack/Barry did sleep on his beloved Uncle Omar’s couch in Cambridge when he first moved here to attend Harvard Law School (speaking of which, we’re still waiting to see the president’s grades and his LSAT scores). But the
How do you get your arms around the catastrophe known as Obamacare? Is it even possible? At this point, I’m not sure it is. The list of individual disasters which threaten to ruin one-sixth of the U.S. economy and what has been, up until now, the best healthcare system in the world is exhaustive, and exhausting. The examples I will identify here barely scratch the surface. First but by no means foremost, we have the supposedly new and improved HealthCare.gov. Except it’s not, even the visible part. Stories still abound of people still failing to get in or to get through the enrollment
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced a new five-year strategic plan to improve safety for elderly drivers and passengers. Although they are statistically among the safest on the road, the number of older drivers is increasing dramatically — and with it, that group´s numbers of injuries and deaths. Since 2003, the population of older adults, defined as age 65 and older, has increased by 20% and the number of licensed older drivers increased by 21% to 35 million in 2012, according to NHTSA. Last year, NHTSA reported that 5,560 people older than 65 died and 214,000 were injured
President Barack Obama’s Facebook page on Saturday posted a message honoring the dead from Pearl Harbor—accompanied by a picture of Obama descending the stairs next to the Pearl Harbor Memorial. The picture barely fits the name of the Arizona Memorial so it can frame Obama in the foreground. The post´s statement reads: Today, with solemn pride and reverence, let us remember those who fought and died at Pearl Harbor, acknowledge everyone who carried their legacy forward, and reaffirm our commitment to upholding the ideals for which they served. President Obama The Obama Administration´s current shipbuilding plan shrinks the size of
Barack Obama did not tell the whole story this autumn when he tried to make the case that Bashar al-Assad was responsible for the chemical weapons attack near Damascus on 21 August. In some instances, he omitted important intelligence, and in others he presented assumptions as facts. Most significant, he failed to acknowledge something known to the US intelligence community: that the Syrian army is not the only party in the country’s civil war with access to sarin, the nerve agent that a UN study concluded – without assessing responsibility – had been used in the rocket attack. In the months before the attack,
Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel, the hapless, goalpost-shifting so-called "architect" of Obamacare, told Fox News´ Chris Wallace on Fox News Sunday that President Barack Obama´s promise "if you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor" was absolutely true--with one important caveat: if you like your doctor, "you can pay for it." Wallace grilled Dr. Emanuel, challenging his false claims that California´s enrollment was keeping pace with the percentage of the young population necessary to keep the system afloat, and pointing out that the president´s promise on doctors would collapse once people lost their insurance or their
