| A former Los Angeles police officer who wrote an online manifesto threatening to harm police officials and their families is wanted for allegedly killing the daughter of a former LAPD captain as well as the woman´s fiance. (Snip)In the online postings, Dorner specifically named the father of Monica Quan, the Cal State Fullerton assistant basketball coach who was found dead Sunday along with her fiance, Keith Lawrence. Randy Quan, a retired L.A. police captain, was involved in the review process that ultimately led to Dorner´s dismissal.
|
Comments: Quan was his union lawyer when his matter went before the LAPD Board of Review re his grievance. In the manifesto he said that a union lawyer who had been a former LAPD captain would be there to protect the LAPD, not to represent him.
The manifesto is here:

It is long but very interesting to read. Understandably he is an Obama supporter. That is not important here. His comments about the LAPD culture are. The there has been no change since the Rodney King days.

At the moment Los Angeles KTLA-TV is following live a new search for him in Big Bear, where a pickup similar to Dorner´s was found on fire. A ground and air search (helicopters) is in progress there.

Wow, what a long list of grievances. Dorner seems like an intelligent man, but he is a very, very angry one. Having murdered three people already, including a fellow police officer, this is not going to end well for him.

On local news here they interviewed a former college friend, who was mentioned in the manifesto. He stated his surprise that Dorner became a Cop,because he was VERY left wing. Of course there was no question as to what. I do not take his manifesto as fact, it is the rantings of a paranoid who blames everything on someone else. No wonder he was fired.

I hope the police have the go ahead to use deadly force in this guys case. If left alive he will spend the rest of his life as a hero in prison.

This man is like a mad dog loose in the streets. If I found him, I would not give him much more consideration than said dog.

In the midst of hunting him down, the PD have already shot up a truck that looked similar to his - with two asian females inside.
The also shot up another truck similar in description to Dorner´s... With a white male inside.
The truck the women were in was hit with a fusilade of bullets. One of the women reportedly suffering a severed spine and paralysis.
I haven´t heard a report as to the male´s condition.
However, the police are the only ones who can be entrusted with semi-auto rifles and 30 round magazines.
Too bad Asian females delivering newspapers and this white male managed to resemble a 6-foot tall, 270 lbs. African-American . . .

I guess the LAPD shouldn´t have fired him for ratting out his field supervisor (who reportedly kicked a guy in the face a couple times) to internal affairs. He´s a might put out with them over that it appears. And the out-of-control LAPD are shooting up innocent citizens because this guy apparently has them really, really scared. Wonder if they´ll figure out burning the truck in Big Bear was a way to suck them in - why call attention to it with a fire?

ARDMORE, Pa. — Phil Mickelson is in a familiar position once again at the U.S. Open — to either finally close out a win in a tournament he truly cherishes or to suffer yet another maddening close call. Mickelson, a four-time major champion but the only player to finish runner-up five times in the U.S. Open, shot even-par 70 Saturday in the third round of the U.S. Open at unyielding Merion Golf Club and has a one-shot lead heading into Sunday´s final round.

LOS ANGELES — A farewell note left behind by the Santa Monica gunman expressed remorse for the killing of his father and brother but provided no explanation for the rampage that left them and three others dead. Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks said that the three- to four-page handwritten note was found on John Zawahri´s body (Snip)Zawahri apparently built his own .223-caliber assault rifle, using it to shoot his father and brother before he set fire to their family home, officials said earlier Thursday.

When President Obama makes his first extended trip to sub-Saharan Africa this month, the federal agencies charged with keeping him safe won’t be taking any chances. Hundreds of U.S. Secret Service agents will be dispatched to secure facilities in Senegal, South Africa and Tanzania. A Navy aircraft carrier or amphibious ship, with a fully staffed medical trauma center, will be stationed offshore in case of an emergency. Military cargo planes will airlift in 56 support vehicles, including 14 limousines and three trucks loaded with sheets of bulletproof glass to cover the windows of the hotels

It first begins with a peculiar, bitter smell.(Snip)Get sufficiently exposed, and you may faint or even die. These are the effects of pepper spray, the chemical that was used by the Turkish police against peaceful sit-in protesters who tried to protect one of Istanbul’s few remaining green spaces against a controversial reconstruction plan in Taksim Square on May 28. Undercover police then proceeded to set fire to the tents left behind by escaping protesters — with all their belongings in them — despite the protesters’ pleas. For many people, this was the last drop in the glass, which

member of a pro-Travyon Martin group was unmasked Wednesday as he tried to get on the Florida jury in George Zimmerman’s trial for shooting the unarmed teen. A white male potential juror identified on his Facebook page as Jerry Counelis gave long, rambling answers about his impartiality when asked basic questions by attorneys. Counelis, known as panelist E-7, said he was an unemployed painter and musician and had no problem being sequestered if chosen to serve on the jury.

Score one for pushy parents. The families of two children with cystic fibrosis who need new lungs but were ineligible for adult organs have successfully used the courts and public opinion to get their daughter and son on the adult waiting list, which is normally unavailable to kids under 12.(Snip)There are countless other conditions that land a person on a transplant list, and each organ has different criteria for who is first in line. “An important feature of the system by which the United States has decided to allocate organs is equity. “Personal responsibility” is a theme frequently drawn upon by people addressing the social problems of the day, including problems that face black communities. (Snip) The bigger problem is that a message that exclusively focuses on personal responsibility without an accompanying clarion call for society itself to improve gives us only half of the answer. No one exemplifies this problem more than Bill Cosby, who recently dictated an editorial to the New York Post in which he said, “There is this situation where people tend to think that we are all victims. Victim meaning somebody else is doing

Amid a steady rise of backlash, Edward Snowden, the 29-year-old former National Security Agency contractor who was the source of a spring of leaks about the agency´s surveillance methods, conducted a live chat on The Guardian´s website Monday morning. Judging from some of the pointed questions he´s been asked and the reaction to newly leaked revelations over the past few days, it´s clear that much of the sympathy and support Snowden had built up for his early exposures is eroding. Many Americans supported his decision to leak information about a pair of National Security Agency surveillance programs, which, he detailed, gathered information

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

Charlie Rose last night asked President Obama his new Syria policy. The president first objected to it being called a new policy. "I´m not sure you can characterize this as a new policy. This is consistent with the policy that I´ve had throughout," he said. Obama then explained the goal is regional stability, and especially in Syria. "Really, what we´re trying to do is take sides against extremists of all sorts and in favor of people who are in favor of moderation, tolerance, representative government, and over the long-term, stability and prosperity for the people of Syria," said Obama.

Marco Rubio. Paul Ryan. The IRS. Illegal immigration. And fraud to the tune of billions.. Now there’s a combustible mix. Let’s start with the IRS, illegal immigration and fraud. We’ll come back in a minute to Senator Rubio and Congressman Ryan. For those who came in late, a year before the IRS scandals burst onto the scene in early May of 2013, an alert investigative reporter for WTHR-Indianapolis (Channel 13), Bob Segall by name, produced a stunning piece of journalism. Segall’s video report is found here and we will quote from his story for the basics.

A group of whistleblowers, including a number of aviation experts, have come forward in a new documentary to claim that the official explanation for the crash of TWA Flight 800 was wrong and a gas tank explosion did not bring down the flight off the coast of Long Island 17 years ago. However, the six whistleblowers, all part of the original investigation team, stopped short of saying the plane was shot down. Flight 800, a Boeing 747, had just taken off from JFK airport with 230 people aboard on July 17, 1996 enroute to Paris when it exploded

It is understood that a contingency plan is in place for the unlikely event that an attempt would be made on the President’s life. The Secret Service also have diplomatic immunity which will allow them to shoot to kill a would-be assassin without fear of prosecution. As part of the “evacuation route” plan, they would be able to spirit the President by chopper to one of the carriers where a jet is on standby to take him back to the United States.
