| CAMBRIDGE – When Harvard University computer scientist LaTanya Sweeney Googled her name she was surprised at what she found. A Google ad questioning whether she had an arrest record. “I almost fell out of my chair! I’ve never been arrested, what’s going on here?“ She’s a law-abiding citizen, but the Google ad from a firm called Instant Checkmate suggested she had a criminal record. “If they sell it don’t they know who they have arrest records for?” She dug deeper with over 2,100 names, most coming from a study on birth records which

We should simply go ahead and change the term, ´African American´ - which is pretty amusing anyway, as darn few American blacks have ever set foot in Africa...
To - "Professional Victim Class´ - and get it over with.
The funniest thing I´ve ever seen in my life was in a local downtown bar/restaurant - a fairly upscale place - where several people at the bar were discussing an auto accident out front, where a police car driven by a black officer had been hit by an elderly white woman. A black woman at the bar was insisting it was done ´on purpose´ as an ´attack against the officer´s race´...
One of the patrons I knew - a pale red-headed guy from Pretoria, South Africa - took the woman to task. "Are you saying she hit the guy because he´s black?" Charlie asked...
"Don´t say black!" the woman responded - "Say African-American!".
Charlie flipped his Pretoria driver´s license on the bar in front of her, and said, "Lady - I´m the only African-American in this bar..."
The cop in question outside had to be snagged quickly - as the ´outraged black woman´ attempted to walk out of the bar - and leave a $90 tab unpaid...
So much for ´racism´ in the new world, eh?

Well I think their ads discriminate against white guys. What makes them think I need anything enlarged or enhanced?
;-D
But seriously . . . LaTanya. Go slap your mother. She and the sisterhood are responsible for prophesying trouble into their children´s lives by giving them names that are associated with crime because criminals are more likely to be named MoKweesha than Ann or LeShon than Bob.

Google.gov simply wants to know your hat size, etc....

Way back in the 20th century, I cautioned my black students about how they might name their children - that one of those proud ethnic names, like laquan´isha, or other examples, on a resume, might cost that child a job interview. Now there is an additional reason to avoid the proud ethnic names. But there will be a class action suit against google - bet on it.

One problem that most of the low IQ´d searchers don´t think about is that some names are quite frequent around the country. Secondly many of them do not check for Middle Initials or Suffixes. Example, in checking my First and Last Name I found 50 of the them in the State of Florida and 40 of them in Kentucky. Of course Middle Initials were different in most cases. Three in Fla had my same middle initial but the name was different.
In addition while I lived on the east coast of Fla, there was a guy who lived on the west coast of Fla who was convicted of Child molestation and sent to prison for 25 years. Same First and Last name but different middle name. But to the low IQ´d it made no difference, I was questioned many times. Once I got them to actually open their brain and double check, all they could say was "Oh, sorry". My reply was FU stupid.
So be careful when checking up on someone. You may or may not have the right person.

The White House is circling the wagons as one of the most feverish periods of President Obama’s tenure enters its second week. Obama and his aides have taken a more aggressive stance in recent days after fumbling their initial response to headline-grabbing scandals at different government agencies. The administration’s strategy is centered on a simple defense: “Our basic thrust is that nobody, here, did anything wrong,” an Obama administration official told The Hill. “That’s why none of this is going to stick.” Even though there is no evidence yet of wrongdoing in the White House,

New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg used a commencement speech to push his gun-control agenda, telling graduates of Kenyon College in Ohio that gun control is “something you really should think about.” Bloomberg, who co-chairs Mayors Against Illegal Guns, spent at least $14 million in support of legislation that would have required universal background checks for all gun-buyers. Although the bill died in the Senate on April 17, Bloomberg said the battle isn´t over. “I believe we will win, sooner or later, because I believe that all of you, your generation more than any other at least

Now that Hillary Clinton no longer has a nonpartisan badass day job, the universe is reverting back to its natural state in which Clinton is a controversial figure with a complicated past and more than a few enemies as well as the symbol of some people´s anxieties about women in power. The excuses to engage in the old Hillary Clinton narratives today come in the form of a biopic titled Rodham, which shows the former secretary of state´s early relationship with Bill Clinton in a not totally flattering light, and a report on her 2008 campaign aides by

Swamped in controversies, President Obama and his slow-footed team are essentially telling the American public, “We’re not crooked. We’re just incompetent.” The IRS targeting conservatives, the Justice Department snooping at The Associated Press, the State Department injecting politics into Benghazi, the military covering up sexual assaults, and the Department of Veterans Affairs leaving heroes in health care limbo – each of these so-called scandals share two traits. First, there is some element of “spin," the cynical art of telling just enough of the truth to avoid political embarrassment. Obfuscation and demagogy, the dirty tools of political quackery that

Delivering her only speech at a high school graduation this year, first lady Michelle Obama joked about the failures her husband, President Obama, has encountered in life as she told a graduating class of high school seniors in Nashville, Tenn. today that in order to achieve success in life, they must first experience failure. “When something doesn’t go your way, you’ve just got to adjust. You’ve got to dig deep and work like crazy, and that’s when you’ll find out what you’re really made of during those hard times, but you can only do that

Shortly before the second-term inauguration of Barack Obama this January, I wrote the following of my worries over the Obama way of doing business: But the untruths and hypocrisy hover in the partisan atmosphere and incrementally and insidiously undermine each new assertion that we hear from the president — some of them perhaps necessary and logical. Indeed, the more emphatically he adds “make no mistake about it,” “let me be perfectly clear,” “I’m not kidding,” or the ubiquitous “me,” “my,” and “I” to each new assertion, the more a growing number of people will come to know

The idea that Nancy Pelosi would again become Speaker after the 2014 elections was always something of a Democrat fantasy. It may be a good story to get a lefty to sleep at night, but it wasn´t likely to happen. In the last 100 years, only once has a President´s party picked up seats in the sixth year of a term. Redistricting in 2011 has put many of the seats the Democrats need out of reach. Whatever confluence of events Democrats envisioned would allow them to retake the House have been swept aside by the IRS scandal.

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
