| Call it Chuck Hagel Part II. John Brennan, President Obama´s pick to head the CIA, faces a frustrated Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, where he will be grilled on the Obama administration´s increased use of drones and the harsh interrogations that took place during the Bush era. Brennan was a top aide to former CIA director George Tenet during the time just after the 9/11 attacks when harsh interrogation techniques, such as waterboarding, were being used. He has since said he opposed the program. The White House has signaled confidence that Brennan’s nomination will get Senate approval,

Article fails to mention Brennan´s role in Benghazi, from pre-attack failure to understand security risks to Brennan´s involvement/acquiescence to Obama´s lies about the attack. The drone story has pushed Benghazi out of the spot light, and one wonders whether this was an intentional leak.
If the drone story is out, why haven´t the 32 American CIA agents in Benghazi on 9/11/12 leaked their stories? Or anyone else in Pentagon, State, CIA, FBI and other agencies?

What´s at stake is someone has to fill these positions and the left is running low on candidates who could pass the test.
So instead of coming up with objections to people like this, they have to manufacture a good reason the let them through just to get the vacancy over with.

Seriously...like Spidey mentioned above, how many could pass the test ? Also can the left find anyone who can pass a random whiz quiz ? We require that of even the lowest service members. I wonder how many in Washington would be flushed out if they were held to any standards.

Hagel is like a man with alzheimers who believes evil stuff. Brennan personifies evil & holds disgusting anti-American views.
He will not be able to hide his contempt for the US during this hearing. One of the ugliest humans on earth... inside & out.

The 32 people who were saved by the brave actions and sacrifice of life by the 4 killed at Benghazi are eye witnesses. Why are they not interviewed and statements given regarding this event? If something like this happened with Bush or Reagan we would have interviewed all involved, anyone nearby and the fruitflies who may have buzzed overhead. Dead men don´t talk and I think the 32 are aware of this pesky detail.

Not that it even matters, but I don´t like this guy. Every time I see him pontificating on TV, he strikes me as the guy who believes any means to an end. I would think that someone with a high moral character would be a requirement for CIA. Pro-American might be a good qualification too, but I understand that is sorely lacking in this administration´s candidates.

Why are people still making comparisons between waterboarding and assassinating Americans on American soil using drones? Or using any other method, for that matter? Is there some moral equivalence between the former and the latter?
And why are they still blaming Bush?
That aside, the main thing that alarms me regarding drone assassinations of Americans is the use of the word "informed"; Obama´s policy is that these killings are perfectly legal and justified so long as someone who is "informed" claims that the target is an enemy combatant and should be eliminated. What is "informed" -- how is that determined?

I´d like to ask the prez --- "Is this the best ya got?".
A parade of incompetence. Between kerry and hagel and now brennan -- it makes hillary look good. Oh -- perhaps that what they had in mind.
If everyone else looks so dumb -- then hillary will look like "the smartest woman on the planet" -- as Dan Rostenkowski (sp?) of Illinois said -- just before the clinton´s stabbed him in the back.. and had him removed from office.....

Dan Rostenkowski was a thief, and went to prison because of his own misconduct. But Bill Clinton pardoned Dirty Dan. Brennan appears to be suffering from early symptoms of alzheimer´s. He needs a thorough neurological examination.

Are all suffering from the latest liberoid affliction... "SPAMNESIA"
Hill-err-ee-ass Herself has it real bad. Always has suffered from it. Rose Law Firm billing records? Spamnesia. Benghazi? Spamnesia. Vince Foster, Fort Marcy Park? Spamnesia. Webb Hubbel, father (DNA Dad) of Chelsea? Spamnesia. Or maybe, in that case... Spermnesia.

Among the lucky candidates: the first female fighter pilot to become an astronaut in nearly two decades. A female helicopter pilot also is in the group. CBS News investigative reporter Sharyl Attkisson appeared on "CBS This Morning" to discuss the hacking of her computer, which CBS News say they have verified through what Attkisson describes as an "independent cyber-security firm." She added that whoever did the hack was "highly skilled and used very sophisticated methods." Throughout the reign of Barack Obama, Attkisson has distinguished herself in media as the rare reporter actually willing to do more than protect, cheerlead, and play stenographer for the White House.

WASHINGTON An Internal Revenue Service supervisor in Washington says she was personally involved in scrutinizing some of the earliest applications from tea party groups seeking tax-exempt status, including some requests that languished for more than a year without action. Holly Paz, who until recently was a top deputy in the division that handles applications for tax-exempt status, told congressional investigators she reviewed 20 to 30 applications. Her assertion contradicts initial claims by the agency that a small group of agents working in an office in Cincinnati was solely responsible for mishandling the applications.

President Obama´s decision to provide weapons to rebels in Syria has the potential to become another foreign policy blunder at a time when the Nobel Prize winner´s second term is mired in scandal. Obama had been saying for months that he would not send troops into the region, but has now stationed 300 troops just outside Syria on its border with Jordan. Obama attributes the abrupt escalation in U.S. involvement to the use of chemical weapons by Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.

The Internal Revenue Service is collecting a lot more than taxes this year -- it´s also acquiring a huge volume of personal information on taxpayers´ digital activities, from eBay auctions to Facebook posts and, for the first time ever, credit card and e-payment transaction records, as it expands its search for tax cheats to places it´s never gone before. The IRS, under heavy pressure to help Washington out of its budget quagmire by chasing down an estimated $300 billion in revenue lost to evasions and errors each year, will start using "robo-audits" of tax forms and third-party data the IRS hopes will help close this so-called "tax gap."

An investigation by the Associated Press has found that a 94-year-old man who moved to Minnesota in 1949 was actually the commander of Nazi SS-led unit during World War II. According to the report published on Friday, Michael Karkoc emigrated to the U.S. after telling immigration officials that he performed no military service during the war. However, reporters David Rising, Randy Herschaft, and Monika Scislowska say they have uncovered evidence that Karkoc was a member of two military units that were accused of massacring whole villages in Poland during the conflict. Karkoc is a native of Ukraine

In the latest black eye for the scandal-ridden State Department, a whistleblower claims she was run out of the foreign service after complaining about a consul general’s alleged office trysts with subordinates and hookers.Kerry Howard says she was bullied, harassed and forced to resign after she exposed US Consul General Donald Moore’s alleged security-threatening shenanigans in the Naples, Italy, office. As the post’s community-liaison officer, Howard was charged with keeping workplace peace and advising higher-ups on the state of morale, but when she revealed allegations about her boss, State Department officials swept it under the rug,

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Politico’s Playbook has an excerpt from a new Ryan Lizza piece from the New Yorker that is not yet online. It contains a passage on the back-and-forth between labor and the Chamber that has a quote from a Rubio staffer that is going to raise eyebrows, to say the least: “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.” Here is the entire context:
