| Nicholas DiMarzio, the Catholic bishop of the diocese of Brooklyn, N.Y., says that in his zealous support for abortion, President Barack Obama has used his position not to help mothers and children in difficult circumstances but instead has been an advocate for that which “is shameful and criminal in the eyes of Almighty God.” In his column for the diocesan newspaper The Tablet, entitled “Deeper Into the Culture of Death,” Bishop DiMarzio praises Abraham Lincoln, the abolition of slavery, , and notes how far the nation has come in electing Obama as president.

Comments: This is one of the worse condemnations of Barack Hussein 0bama that I have read in a very long time. It´s long overdue.

What does it matter since the Catholic population of Brooklyn probably voted for Obama about 97-3.

The Bishop speaks the truth, #5, and knows that in the end, only one vote matters. It is a shame that more members of the clergy, particularly those in position of leadership, don´t exhibit his moral courage...

Yes #6. Unfortunately, Obama´s clear undeniable stance on even the most extreme forms of abortion were known BEFORE he became President. Everyone pretty much was silent. He has been at the head table of every Alfred E. Smith dinner - absolutely blasphemous. May many other Catholic leaders join you publicly and boldly.

I personally believe that the Church must accept responsibility for the role it played in allowing Catholic politicians to get away with their pro-abortion stance. If Teddy K, Cuomo, et al were excommunicated decades ago this issue might be moot. It was this same cowardice that allowed abuser-priests to get away with their crimes. Bishop DeMarzio´s statement is 40 years overdue.

Tragically, the priests who sexually abused and the bishops who covered up for them could both be said to have done ´what is shameful and criminal in the eyes of Almighty God.´ In the eyes of secularists (and even jaded Catholics) the Church squandered whatever moral authority she might once have had to accuse anybody else of sin.
Bishops like Dolan, DiMarzzio, and Chaput must remain steadfast in prophetic witness against the evils Obama is inflicting on America and the world. But they should anticipate that it will bring them widespread ridicule, and charges of hypocrisy.

I´m still trying to understand why Cuomo, Pelosi, McCarthy, Sebelius, etc. have not been excommunicated yet. They all advocate the murder of the innocent unborn, about to be born and sadly in some cases recently born. They are evil incarnate. I am a practicing Catholic and am ashamed that my Church has not taken a stronger stand on this. I was hopeful when the Pope named Dolan the head of the Church in America, but I´m still waiting for him to take a stronger stand. In this case, there is no grey area. You are either on the side of God or the side of Satan.

Some of them may have, #16.
Not everything relating to one´s status vis-a-vis the Church requires any public action or announcement. There are many reasons their respective bishops might have for not saying anything.
But if I get a chance to ask SF´s retired archbishop what ever came of his effort to bring Pelosi back into line regarding what the Church teaches about when life begins, I will. His response (or lack of response) could be illuminating.
But probably not.

In one of the most fiery interviews on Fox News Channel, Megyn Kelly took on the attorney for Kermit Gosnell, the abortion doctor convicted of murdering three babies and manslaughter of a woman. Gosnell was sentenced to more than three consecutive life sentences after performing hundreds of late-term abortions. On America Live, Jim McMahon continued to defend his client against the horrific details of his crimes. Kelly started the interview saying, “We don’t tar the attorney with the sins of the client.” McMahon said Gosnell was “disappointed and upset” over the verdict.

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Several days ago some fringe “conservatives” mentioned the idea of impeaching President Obama. For reasons as obvious as they are numerous, that is a terrible idea. Saying that is like throwing chum out to the worst conservatives, the ones who act like liberals, the ones who are all angry instinct, who rather than strategize their way to victory would rather sweep the pieces off the table and throw a tantrum on the floor. Serious and effective conservatism demands putting facts and reason above emotion and hysteria. Some comments concerning potential impeachment are so

Sen. Harry Reid said Wednesday that he will push to confirm more judges to the federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., after that court ruled earlier this year that President Obama’s broad use of recess appointment powers was unconstitutional. “You have a majority in that court that is wrecking havoc in the country. For the first time in 230 years, they ruled the president can’t make a recess appointment, so yes there is a crisis,” Mr. Reid, the chamber’s leader, said on the Senate floor as he begged for quick action on more of the president’s judicial nominees.

Mayor Bloomberg went on a spitting-mad rant against a city cab-fleet boss who won a court victory over Hizzoner’s planned “Taxi of Tomorrow” — vowing to “destroy your f--king industry” when he leaves office, The Post has learned. A fuming Bloomberg made the threat against Taxi Club Management CEO Gene Freidman at Madison Square Garden’s private 1879 Club during last Thursday’s Knick playoff game, a witness said yesterday. “It was like Gene had kidnapped his child. He used the f-word twice,” the witness said. Freidman confirmed the blow-up to The Post, and said Bloomberg’s tirade included the warning that,

According to Republican Rep. Jim Jordan and White House visitor logs, former IRS Commissioner Douglas Shulman visited the White House 118 times in 2010 and 2011. This is the same time period when Tea Party groups were inappropriately targeted and intimidated by the IRS. Testifying in front of lawmakers on Capitol Hill Wednesday, Shulman admitted that many of the meetings with the White House were to discuss how to implement ObamaCare. "The IRS has a major roll in the money flow," Shulman said. Shulman denied ever discussing 501c(4) groups with White House officials

Former Rep. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
