Obama: Salazar’s family
‘did not cross the border,
the border crossed them’

Washington Examiner, by Charlie Spiering

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/6/2013 6:26:40 PM

Speaking about outgoing Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar, President Obama reminded reporters that the family of the former U.S. Senator from Colorado was of Spanish descendent – dating back to the 16th century. “His ancestors were living here before the Mayflower set sail,” Obama said. “As he explains it — and relevant, as we are working to get immigration reform passed — his family did not cross the border, the border crossed them. And that’s why, when I needed somebody to lead Interior, I didn’t have to look very far.”

Huh? I´m so sick of hearing how allegedly brilliant this guy is. He sounds like a moron every day when he makes outrageous statements like this. Sadly, his braindead followers lap it up. This is the entire article.

This SOB really does believe that the US obtained the SW illegally. He really believes these illegal interlopers have the right to come here without permission in fact they don;t need permission.

Salazar´s brilliance is limited to putting all financial dealings in his wife´s name. It is easy to hide the payoffs then.

This president makes inconsistent, illogical statements all the time.
What is the logical connection between Salazar´s family tree, the 16th century, and selecting an Interior secretary?
And the nonsense about the border crossing him is just as bad.

I don´t care if his ancestors walked across the Bering Strait or the North Atlantic during the last ice age. He is rotten to the core! Just like Obama.

I don´t know where the Salazars were living in the 16th century, but unless they were Indians, it wasn´t in the land that became Colorado.

According to colorado.gov:

Where Was the First Permanent European Settlement in Colorado?

The earliest permanent European settlements were planted in the San Luis Valley. San Luis, on the Culebra River, was settled in 1851, followed in the next few years by San Pedro, San Acacio, and Guadalupe.

The Democrats have the propensity to compare and attempt to equalize longtime Americans of Hispanic heritage with illegal aliens from Latin America to fool low information voters and that is just plain dumb!

An outrageous statement, especially for the President of the United States. I would say he should be ashamed but it´s clear he has no shame.

Since the subject here is basically Obama making moves to up the ante on granting amnesty to illegal aliens, to those who say it may be easier to identify those who aren´t RINOs, than those who are, you´re right: I personally would say someone who felt that our borders should be secured, that our existing immigration laws should be enforced, employers of illegals should be arrested and fined... If you have a poliician that believes, truly believes this, then the rest would be there too. This would be a conservative republican that would try his damndest to do what´s right, not what´s popular, not being pushed by lobbyists with bribes, but representing his constituents, who happen to be comprised of more than the good folks at Monsanto.

Find me a guy or gal like that in politics, and that´s a person that I guarantee would never be maligned by anyone. I won´t hold my breath. And no one will ever convince me to support any politician that wants to grant amnesty to the illegals in this country.

Researchers at Princeton and Northwestern universities have pored over 1,800 US policies and concluded that America is an oligarchy. Instead of looking out for the majority of the country’s citizens, the US government is ruled by the interests of the rich and the powerful, they found. No great surprises there, then. But the government is not the only American power whose motivations need to be rigourously examined. Some 2,400 miles away from Washington, in Silicon Valley, Google is aggressively gaining power with little to keep it in check. It has cosied up to governments around the world so effectively that its chairman,

Then-Sens. Joe Biden and John Kerry were both opposed to Hillary Clinton’s 1993 health-care reform program, according to documents released by the Clinton presidential library. Clinton marked a handwritten “No” beside Biden’s name on Clinton’s list of Capitol Hill lawmakers that she needed to win over for her universal health care law, known as the “Clinton health plan” or “Hillarycare,” to pass. John Kerry, meanwhile, was marked with a “Probably not.” “Hillarycare” ended up dying in the Democratic-controlled Senate in 1994 without coming to a floor vote. Wayne Crews of the Competitive Enterprise Institute and Alexis de Tocqueville, author of the classic Democracy in America, were born in different times and places. But the French aristocrat and American think tanker have the measure of the federal behemoth in the age of Obama. Writing in 1835, Tocqueville eloquently predicted how it would function, while Crews today supplies in his annual compilation of federal rules and regulations, “10,000 Commandments,” the hard numbers that describe the behemoth´s contemporary reach and costs. It is always worthwhile to revisit de Tocqueville’s description of what he called the

President Obama addressed the White House press corps today, announcing that with the final numbers in, Obamacare´s exchanges have attracted eight million sign-ups -- 35 percent of whom are "under the age of 35," he said. Several elements of his comments were misleading: (1) At first blush, the 35 percent stat is both significant and impressive. As recently as last month, the share of "young invincibles" signing up for plans was struggling in the 25 percent range, far short of the actuarial target of nearly 40 percent. A leap into the mid-30´s, while still shy of the goal, would constitute a major step, and would bode well for the risk pools'

First, the good news: We are close enough to the end of the Obama presidency for his crowd to talk about a presidential library. Now, the bad news: Obama´s retirement is still 1,008 days distant. Plenty of time though to round up the dough to build it somewhere. Figure they need Solyndra-style money, at least $500 million. The last two presidents – Bill Clinton and George W. Bush -- built their legacy edifices totally with private money. [Snip] However, Obama supporters have a different take. They think taxpayers should put up $100 million in public money for Obama´s library.
