| The 26-year-old husband of Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes is to run for Congress, it was revealed today. Sean Eldridge, a Democrat activist who heads an investment firm, filed the papers on Tuesday to challenge the Republican seat in New York´s Hudson Valley. The district is currently held by Representative Chris Gibson - a two-term Republican and decorated war hero. Gibson was re-elected at the November elections winning 53 per cent of the vote. Eldridge and Hughes, who has a fortune of an estimated $500million, have positioned themselves as something of a gay power couple since tying the knot last year.

Get over the gay issue. If the electorate in the Hudson Valley make this an issue about gays, this ...guy.... wins. Make it a campaign about ideas besides sex. I mean, honest to G*d, there are terrible things happening and about to happen in this country if Congress doesn´t start doing their jobs. Raising money based on someone´s "sexual orientation", to buy into their language, may fill the coffers but easily lose the election.

#11--what gay issue? Gay marriage is legal in New York, isn´t it? My view on this is not a political one (and I don´t live in New York in any event), it is my personal objection to the re-definition of marriage and marriage terminology. Sorry, I don´t see how a man can be a "husband" to another man.

So, here is a perfect example of the left versus right paradigm.
On the left we have a rich, white kid who married another man whom he refers to as his wife and that has money he didn´t earn to dump into his political campaign for a seat in a district he does not live in....
On the right we have a man married to a wife with children who is also decorated war hero has earned everything he has through hard work and self determination running to represent an area he grew up in and currently lives.

One of two men allegedly being questioned in connection with the Boston Marathon bombings was shot and killed by an FBI agent in Florida on Tuesday, (Snip)A friend of Ibragim Todashev said he and Todashev were being investigated as part of the Boston bombings. He said Todashev, 27, knew bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev because both were MMA fighters. The man claims he and Todashev were interviewed by the FBI for nearly three hours on Tuesday. The friend said he left the interview, and when he came back to the apartment he found that there had been a shooting.
