Texas Lawmakers Blast ‘Anti-American’,
‘Anti-Christian’ Curriculum

Fox News, by Todd Starnes

Original Article

Posted By:KarenJ1, 2/6/2013 1:56:14 PM

Texas lawmakers are putting educators on the hot seat after public school curriculum surfaced that promoted Islam and socialism while deconstructing American values and patriotism. (Snip) School children were exposed to lessons that labeled the Boston Tea Party an act of terrorism. They were also instructed to create flags for socialist and communist countries. And they were also given in-depth lessons in the Islamic faith that included classroom readings from the Koran. “They are indoctrinating our children to hate America,” said Janice VanCleave, of Texas Education Patriots.

Comments:
Dan Patrick a Republican Texas lawmaker was just on Fox and said that the teachers had to sign a contract saying they were subject to criminal penalties if they exposed certain parts of this program. There was a lesson that required students to design a socialist or communist flag?? Texas is changing it, what about all the other states where you have to believe this happening? Every day we see something more breathtaking than the last.

God Bless Texas! These "educators" have their heads up their you-know-wheres. And, never underestimate the power of good parenting to put the brakes on these morons.

Way past time to defund, eliminate, get rid of, the Dept of Education. Long long long past. When the person running the department thinks that socialism/communism is the way to go and encouraged a 15 year old boy to let his homosexual feeling flow and have a "relationship" with a 45 to 50 year old man and that it is healthy and natural? Um no...defund, eliminate and kiss it good bye and let the states have it back and local control. So our children won´t be spoon fed propaganda and brainwashed into the utopia progressive b/s.

Not to defend any of this (I think what this organisation is doing is presenting a relativistic view of history which I completely reject), but I do know that Islam teaches from the old testimaent and that Allah is thier designation for what we would call God. Differences in how God is percveived by the teachings of the Christian, Jewish, and Islamic faiths is something I don´t know though. Someone here probably knows.

And John McCain stood in the well of the Senate and railed at Michelle Bachman and Louis Gohmert of Texas for suggesting that our government is infested with Islamists. Our Senators Cornyn and Hutchison stood by and said nothing of course.

Perhaps the good people of Texas and their Governor should close down the schools for disinfestation ,and reopen when a proper non revisionist curriculum is establshed.

Reply 7 - Posted by: beth, 2/6/2013 3:26:35 PM     (No. 9162230)

You know when the teachers using this curriculum are forced to sign a form saying they won´t reveal any lesson plans, that indoctrination is the goal.

Islam doesn´t teach from the Old Testament although some passages have been plagiarized, they use the koran and their "god" allah is one supposedly picked by mohammad which was a moon god represented by a black rock, from among the many they use to worship when they were polytheistic. satan by any other name is still lucifer and uses the same tricks to condem us.
the public school idiots rewriting history are all following the communist plan they learned in college to subvert our history and or customs and unfortunately most of the sheeple are just following right into lock step with them.

Not all Texas teachers should be lumped in with the libtards--

Many are old-school and strongly hold to traditional values as those in academia seek to cut off debate and promote wacko programs.

The State Board of Education is heavily dominated by conservative republicans who may not be aware of this blatant atrocity.

#9 Islam does indeed teach from the Old Testement. I lived in Saudi Arabia for years and saw the TV shows explaining the Old Testament. I also have friends that are muslims and we have talked extensively about this. These friends are the true peaceful adherents of Islam, not the idiots we read about on a daily basis.

Liberalism is alive and well in every school district - Texas too. It varies from a little to a lot but all children are being affected if they go to these government schools. It is shocking that parents are being lured into thinking Islam has ANY place in any form in an AMERICAN school.

#11 did they also teach you about taqqiyah? I bet you they didnt. Peaceful my foot. If by peace they mean not standing up to the terrorists and violent jihadists and silently turning their backs on how Islam treats infidels, then maybe. But they are complicit in Islam´s perversion of religion. They are the Borg of the religious world. They are not interested in coexistence. They will edge the rest of us out by mere "peace."

And they may "borrow" from the "Old Testament" but it is only so they can lay claim to prophets and history that was never theirs in the first place. None of what their Koran teaches falls in line with the 10 commandments, I guarantee you. I bet they also told you that Allah was not the same God as the God of the Jewish and Christian peoples.

Yes, you had better ask them about taqqiyah before you listen to anything else they say and ask yourself: what other religion advocates lying in order to gain converts? I bet you there is only one who does that.

The reason the entire country needs to watch this closely is that Texas and California have tremendous influence on textbooks that are used throughout the country because they, from what I understand, have statewide curricula.

#11 There is only one Koran. This is not like Catholic lite and Episcopalians.

It seems we are on a slippery slope and The Separation of Church and State means noting when it comes to Islam.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

America´s 100 million cable and satellite subscribers are forced to pay ever-higher bills for a growing number of channels they do not watch. The American people are being ripped off. Meanwhile, services such as iTunes and Netflix have led a revolution in how consumers purchase and experience music and video entertainment. They have upended entire industries to allow consumers to buy digital content where they want, when they want. Amid all this change, two entrenched interests — the cable television and video programming industries — have teamed up to use federal regulations to stack the deck against consumers.

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

President Obama is a little uneasy with the way journalists have been dragged into the Justice Department’s aggressive pursuit of national security leak investigations. In fact, he has ordered Attorney General Eric Holder to conduct a 45-day review of the department’s guidelines on the issue. That bit of news was buried in the middle of the president’s hourlong speech today at National Defense University. “Journalists should not be at legal risk for doing their jobs,” President Obama said. “Our focus must be on those who break the law.” And then the news: “I have raised these issues with

Anthony Weiner’s nascent mayoral campaign is off to a rough start. Weiner made his candidacy for mayor of New York official in the wee hours of Wednesday morning, and since then there’s no indication that the process is going particularly well. The former rising star in the Democratic Party can’t shake the scandal that forced him to resign from Congress, and he may be throwing fuel on the fire. Asked this morning whether there was another shoe to drop in the sextweeting scandal that ousted him, Weiner admitted, Well, yeah.

White House press secretary Jay Carney could only explain his problems on Wednesday by telling reporters, "[T]here are a lot of you, and you´re good at your jobs and you´re smart." As easy as it might be for Carney to lob such insincere praise at former journalistic colleagues, such posterior osculations must be embarrassing for a White House so accustomed to having the press in its back pocket. Carney´s job has become more difficult in the past two weeks. Where his explanations were accepted at face value in the past, he is now met with deep skepticism. Suddenly, the

WASHINGTON – First she refused to testify. Now Lois Lerner, the IRS official at the center of the agency scandal, is refusing to resign, according to a top Republican senator. Sources confirmed to Fox News earlier Thursday that Lerner, the head of the IRS division that oversaw the unit targeting conservative groups, had been placed on administrative leave, with pay. But Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, claimed she was only put in that status after refusing to step down. He said the commissioner was in his right to demand her resignation, and said taxpayers

The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

On “Fox News Sunday” last weekend, White House aide Dan Pfeiffer was asked about President Barack Obama’s whereabouts the night of the Sept. 11 attack in Benghazi. This was the night when we lost our first ambassador in 30 years, and when three other Americans were killed in an attack that lasted all night long at multiple locations within the eastern Libyan city. Since the president is commander in chief, one would think where he was and what he did during such an event would be of obvious public concern.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Is the worm turning against Barack Obama? After four-plus years of being given the benefit of the doubt by the bulk of the US media, the President now suddenly feels more vulnerable. Today both the New York Times and the Washington Post have run prominent and angry editorials and columns slamming the administration for its attempt to criminalise a Fox News reporter James Rosen for working a State Department source to obtain a story. The "Rosen Affair"--as it is now known--is poisoning the well in Washington at an alarming rate for Mr Obama, with an indignant White House press corps
