| On today’s Your World, fill-in host Stuart Varney got into a heated battle with Rep. Keith Ellison (D-MN) over the issue of “fairness” in increasing taxes on the wealthy. Ellison’s revenue plan includes closing tax loopholes that mainly affect wealthier Americans — estate tax deductions, stock option loopholes, etc. — which prompted Varney to bluntly ask whether this plan was purely aimed at squeezing more money out of the rich. “We go a little further than that and we say we’re going to close loopholes for fossil fuel companies likes Exxon Mobil and Chevron.

Comments: One thing you can say about these filthy Democrats, they have their talking points down and absolutely nothing will make them stop spewing their lies. They always revert back to the tired canard that if the rich don´t pay more the children will starve.

Does the Muzzie really think oil companies are owned by the rich? Someone should clue him that they are mostly owned by Union retirement funds and the 99%er shareholders. Liberals are so stupid.

Taxes should be EQUAL on everyone.
Anything other than that is pure theft!

It´s not increasing taxes on the wealthy. The wealthy already have their wealth and they protect it from taxes.
They are increasing taxes on people who are trying to earn and save money to become wealthy.
They are increasing taxes on the low to middle income earner who has a one time wind fall when his company tells him he is no longer going to have his job and here is a buy out package. But even though he faces long term unemployment hereafter - this one time buyout package is looked at as if he is wealthy and will make that much every year so it is taxed to the hilt. Bring back 5 year income averaging.

Obama´s "mini-me". Ellison is also a Muslim Marxist. I heard it in the car. Ellison wouldn´t even let Stuart speak.

So Varney points out Mickelson´s 63% tax bite bedween CA and Federal, and asks whether it is fair. After hemming and hawing Ellison says uses and uses the Marxists´ favorite tactic--a false choice strawman. He says if it is a choice between Mickelson paying high taxes and some elderly person not being able to heat their home, or some poor people going hungry, then it is fair to tax Mickelson 63%. How is there a direct linkage here? Are there no boondoggle government expenditures that can be cut to be sure Granny doesn´t freeze or poor people eat? And how much of every tax dollar is sucked up by our massive bloated government before it even gets to Granny? And how many Grannies are fraudulently getting benefits?

Lying leftist scum. Those are NOT loopholes that they want to close on oil companies. And why should there be an estate tax??? That money has been taxed over and over already. Let people pass on the fruit of their labors to whomever they want. I HATE leftist lying manipulators.

#10, its not. But libtards (marxists/communists/democrats/socialists/fascists/&etc.) want to steal all the money they can from non-libtards - fair, or ´for grannie´ and so forth are simply lying excuses they use to shut up the non-libtards stupid enough to think it isn´t theft, pure and simple, as their goal.

So a tax rate on of 63% would also be fair for Larry Ellison compared to the needs he purports to defend as it would still leave him plenty to live above that subsisted level.

The Justice Department, already under fire for seizing AP phone records, also viewed e-mails of Fox News chief Washington correspondent James Rosen, calling him a criminal ´co-conspirator´ for his reporting. Fox News´ executive vice president of news, Michael Clemente, released a statement defending Rosen. The statement issued Monday afternoon is below: "We are outraged to learn today that James Rosen was named a criminal co-conspirator for simply doing his job as a reporter," Clemente said. Michael Steinbach, former head of the FBI’s counterterrorism division and now special agent in charge of Miami, told over 30 congressional staffers in March of 2012 that, contrary to the White House´s classification, the bureau does not refer to the Fort Hood shooting as "workplace violence." As head of the FBI counterterrorism division, Steinbach oversaw the investigation into the mass murder at Texas Army base. Steinbach made this claim during an unclassified counterterrorism briefing on Capitol Hill. “Do you guys teach your agents that Fort Hood was workplace violence?” one staffer asked.

As a result of Fox News Channel’s State Department reporter James Rosen’s 2009 investigation into the government’s response to North Korea’s repeated provocations, it was reported on Monday that the Department of Justice tracked Rosen’s movements as well as subpoenaed telephone and email records. According to the DoJ’s subpoena, Google surrendered Rosen’s emails, who is described as “an aider and abettor and/or co-conspirator,” to the government. “Rosen was not charged with any crime, but it is unprecedented for the government, in an official court document, to accuse a reporter of breaking the law for conducting the

The House has already begun its investigation of the IRS scandal, with Friday’s hearing in the House Ways and Means Committee. The Senate Finance Committee will follow in short order, and it has already issued a “request” for detailed information from the agency about its targeting of conservative groups over the last three years. Ironically, it looks a lot like the kind of request that the agency sent out to those groups, with 41 demands and just 11 days to respond. The letter, provided by a source on Capitol Hill, shows that the questioning is likely to feel a lot like an audit:

U.S. Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) issued the following statement after a report was released claiming that the Obama Administration targeted a FOX News reporter during a leak investigation: “I am very concerned by reports the Obama Administration targeted a FOX News reporter for possible criminal prosecution for doing what appears to be normal news-gathering protected by the First Amendment. The sort of reporting by James Rosen detailed in the report is the same sort of reporting that helped Mr. Rosen aggressively pursue questions about the Administration’s handling of Benghazi.

After another troubling report about the Justice Department´s crackdown on media leaks, Megyn asks, "how many times has this happened?" We´re learning more by the minute following an explosive report by the Washington Post about the Justice Department monitoring the movements of Fox News Chief Washington Correspondent James Rosen. The DOJ was reportedly looking into Rosen´s visits to the State Department, via his security badge, in addition to obtaining search warrants for his personal phone and emails. It all stemmed from a leak by someone in the State

In an appearance on C-SPAN on Monday, Bill Kristol, editor of The Weekly Standard, scolded President Barack Obama for what reports suggest was his hands-off approach to the ongoing crisis in Benghazi on the night of an attack on that city’s American consulate. “I am willing to say that he did not behave as a President of the United States should have behaved that night,” Kristol said. A C-SPAN caller asked Kristol about the second phase of the Benghazi attack, in which militants laid siege to an annex for several hours. The caller asked about the

What did President Obama do on the evening of 9/11/12 when our men were under attack in Benghazi? The invaluable Andrew McCarthy reminds us that Obama and Secretary Clinton had a 10:00 p.m. phone call of which many (including, I think, Chris Wallace) have lost sight. This morning when Wallace asked Obama aide Dan Pfeiffer what Obama was up to that evening, Pfeiffer declared the line of inquiry “offensive.” Translation: Obama and his minions would prefer to “move on” and are warning the likes of FNC off:(Snip for video)The Weekly Standard’s Daniel Halper has posted the rush transcript

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. It began in earnest last Friday. A flash mob of latte drinking, tofu eating media that has done its best to quell, rather than fan the flames of truth, turned on one of their own. Jay Carney lay bludgeoned at the base of the podium, a victim of friendly fire. Ironically, the attack was reminiscent of the one in Benghazi he has repeatedly denied the Administration he represents bears any responsibility for. “Changed twelve times?!” came the cries. And with good reason. We were misled; no, lied to.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. Newly obtained court documents “reveal how deeply investigators explored the private communications of a working journalist — and raise the question of how often journalists have been investigated as closely as Rosen was in 2010.” Reporter Ann Marimow began:
