Murder in Turkey

It was a note on my daughter´s Facebook page asking for prayers for Sarai Sierra, the young mother of two, then missing for a week traveling alone in Turkey, that made me wonder if my daughter knew her. Sarai Sierra´s battered body was discovered near a highway in Istanbul, last weekend. (Snip) I was even more shocked when I saw her picture after she was found murdered in Istanbul for I recognized her as a girl who grew up with my children. In fact I also knew quite well the woman who was supposed to have traveled with Sarai

sorry folks, if you´re a female and you travel alone in a country like Turkey, you´re just stupid. like those young folks who "hiked" on the border between Iran and Iraq. and she had kids at home!! just stupid!

A first person antidote to the ugly speculation about Ms. Sierra that is beginning to seep into the media.

And an admonishment that we should have nothing to do with countries that do not protect our travelers.

Very good.

RIP Sarai. She had a sense of adventure and didn´t fully understand the risk. There is no safe place in North Africa and the Middle East.

Istanbul was on the Formula One circuit not that long ago.

Leftists (Feminists) prefer to punish the GOP because we consistently fail to behead them for it.

Everything about the middle east is abusive.

It´s not a great place to be a little boy either.

Heartfelt and thoughtful lament from Alicia Colon. I wish everyone in America would read it and understand better what radical Islam has done and is doing to the world.

Word is circulating that Sierra was in Turkey for very shady reasons - - having nothing to do with photography.

I advise withholding the blubbering until all the facts come out about this most curious story.

An American murdered in Africa? I´m certain our pResident will jump right on this with his investigation and study of the situation. His being a protector of all Americans and all. Wait, just a minute, he has to warm up his drone.

I do not think it is blubbering to regret the death of a young American mother and to use that as a warning about traveling to Muslim countries in the time of Wahhabism and sharia

Doesn´t add up...

Why Sarai staying in a flat... for a woman alone and new to travel...rather than a secure hotel..in Turkey a Muslim country...

Beaten to death but money, phone and Jewelry left behind

There is a David Jimenez, Sarai´s brothers name.... in Global Intelligence who worked at Military University..at Linked

Google up Khalid Said and Sarai Jimenez...the video that set Egypt on fire for the ridiculously named Arab Spring... Turning it over to IslamoCommunists and the Muslim Brotherhood by a woman named Sarai Jimenez

Perhaps confused identity

Why the FBI goes right to Turkey to find Sarai...
...Yet waits 4 months after our Ambassador and Seals murdered in Benghazi?
One is an important international event..the other wasn´t ??

Turkey was the conduit...for the illegal weapons and missiles that left Benghazi...on there way to Syria...
Turkey is the home of directed jihad by there president...and our presidents close friend and ally. So I imagine he is assisting our FBI....while the FBZi is there perhaps they can ask what the Turkish Counsel was doing meeting Ambassador Stevens in Benghazi on 9/11 right before he was murdered...did that Counsel also meet with Sarai on the bridge?.

Conspiracy mongering aside, presumably all can agree that this woman was impulsive and rash. As a traveler, she had to have known that the Muslim world is hostile to females; viscerally so for westerners traveling alone.

In the Persian Gulf as dod tech rep. We are easy targets. State issues monthly warning messages but amount to CYA. Basically, "Where do we send your corpse" in case of assasination.

KUALA LUMPUR: A CREW member of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 made a desperate call from his mobile phone as the plane was flying low near Penang, the morning it went missing. The latest breakthrough in the ongoing criminal investigation traced the source of the call to co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid´s phone. (Snip) They are investigating the case under Section 130C of the Penal Code, which deals with hijacking, terrorism and sabotage offences, as well as the Security Offences (Special Measures) and Aviation Offences Acts. On why these findings were not made known, the sources said, like criminal investigations by any police

Obama Lets N.S.A. Exploit

WASHINGTON — Stepping into a heated debate within the nation’s intelligence agencies, President Obama has decided that when the National Security Agency discovers major flaws in Internet security, it should — in most circumstances — reveal them to assure that they will be fixed, rather than keep mum so that the flaws can be used in espionage or cyberattacks, senior administration officials said Saturday. But Mr. Obama carved a broad exception for “a clear national security or law enforcement need,” the officials said, a loophole that is likely to allow the N.S.A. to continue to exploit security flaws both to crack

LAS VEGAS -- The Bureau of Land Management has announced it will stop the roundup of cattle owned by rancher Cliven Bundy. The BLM says the animals have been illegally grazing on public lands for 20 years. The BLM made the announcement Saturday morning, a week after rangers started gathering the animals from land near Gold Butte. The agency says it is concerned about the safety of its employees and the public. Earlier this week, BLM officers and supporters of the Bundy family were involved in a scuffle. Cliven Bundy´s son, Ammon Bundy, was tased twice by federal agents. Another woman said

In a profile of Press Secretary Jay Carney appearing in the magazine Washingtonian Mom, this photo of the loving family appears:(Snip for photo)Cute, isn’t it? But, as savvy Twitter users noticed almost immediately, the picture is photoshopped, and not very well at that. The right side of the book case is a mirror image of the left, which poses a slight problem. A problem I like to call “disembodied finger of a child floating in air”! It’s a common photoshop mistake:

ORLAND, Calif. – A tractor-trailer already was on fire as it came across a median and crashed into a tour bus, killing 10 people, according to a couple whose car was sideswiped by the big rig. Joe and Bonnie Duran were driving a sedan northbound on the 5 Freeway on Thursday when they said a FedEx truck heading south careened toward them, struck their rental car and crashed into the oncoming bus carrying high school students from Southern California. (Snip)Bonnie Duran, who was driving, told KNBC-TV in Los Angeles that flames were coming from the lower rear of the truck cab.

FBI: Middle school gang
behind mob violence
Courier-Journal [Louisville], by Patrick T. Sullivan and Andy Wolfson    Original Article

The teens responsible for the mob violence in downtown Louisville last month were members of a gang of middle-school students, according to an FBI memo distributed to law enforcement agencies. The memo, which the FBI says was based on "unverified intelligence," says that the gang — "Young ´N Off That," or YNO, was organized last summer at Frost Middle School but spread to other schools, and that its members are "armed in a major way." The FBI memo also says there have been "rumblings" about the gang showing up in large numbers May 1 at the Kentucky Derby Festival Pegasus Parade. Louisville

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson says the White House wanted him to apologize for “offending” President Obama after he famously delivered a conservative message at the National Prayer Breakfast last year. Carson, the former director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, recalls the events surrounding his 2013 speech in his new book, One Nation: What We Can All Do To Save America’s Future. The Daily Caller obtained an advance copy of the book, which is set for release May 20. “He did not appear to be hostile or angry,” Carson writes of Obama, “but within a matter of minutes after the conclusion of

President Obama inspired a generation of young people to support his historic election in 2008. And in 2012, despite the struggles of his first term, Mr. Obama still managed to win the support of a full 60% of voters age 18-29. But the man who once dreamed of being a transformative leader in the Reagan mold is inspiring few of those young people to follow his lead. "For all the talk about the movement that elected Mr. Obama, the more notable movement of Obama supporters has been away from politics. It appears that few of the young people who voted

On Saturday, I wrote about the standoff at Bundy Ranch. That post drew a remarkable amount of traffic, even though, as I wrote then, I had not quite decided what to make of the story. Since then, I have continued to study the facts and have drawn some conclusions. Here they are. First, it must be admitted that legally, Bundy doesn’t have a leg to stand on. The Bureau of Land Management has been charging him grazing fees since the early 1990s, which he has refused to pay. Further, BLM has issued orders limiting the area on which Bundy’s cows can

Chelsea Clinton says when people ask her these days whether she wants to go into politics, her answer isn’t an automatic “no.” The 34-year-old former first daughter told Fast Company in an interview published Monday, “for so long the answer was just a visceral no. Not because I had made any conscientious, deliberate decision, but since people had been asking for as long as literally I could remember, it was no." Now, the only child of former President Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton explains, "I live in a city and a state and a country where I

Although the Civil Rights Act, the landmark legislation which just reached its 50th anniversary, made great strides in desegregating the economy, economic discrimination is still widespread, and anti-discrimination legislation alone can never rectify the economic damage inflicted upon blacks by slavery and our Jim Crow apartheid regime. The Civil Rights Act was a mild reform, all things considered, but one conservatives fought with vigor and one many conservatives are still bitter about to this day. When the Civil Rights Act passed in 1964, the primary purpose was to root out discrimination in public accommodations (like hotels and movie theaters)

Megyn Kelly’s "Kelly File" is a great news show. She’s incisive, informed and customarily handles the toughest guest with aplomb. But her lengthy interview of Facebook C.O.O. Sheryl Sandberg about her second book in the Lean In series Lean In: For Graduates was a head shaker. Amazing that she of all people allowed Sandberg to restring the same old, same old, shamed, and shopworn feminist myths about women and girls and then jangle it in front of her viewing audience like something new out of the box. Indeed Kelly all but genuflected in front of this woman. Kept her on thru

Western Washington University sent a questionnaire to students asking them for advice on how the administration could succeed at making sure that in future years, “we are not as white as we are today.” The question notes that WWU’s racial make up does not perfectly reflect the nation at large, and asks students to consider strategies that other universities have used to focus on skin color as the paramount indicator of a student-applicant’s worth. The president of WWU has stated that his explicit goal is to reduce the white population on campus, according to Campus Reform. “I’ve said before and I’ll say it
