| During Sunday’s Super Bowl, the advertising and programming executives in Hollywood and New York graced us with their version of what we want to see. And if it’s any reflection of reality, we’re becoming a coarser, stupider, and less value-oriented nation. Let’s start with the halftime show. For years, the Super Bowl halftime show has been a repository for shocking performances, including the pre-staged Justin Timberlake/Janet Jackson boobgate in 2004. But Beyoncé’s pelvic-thrusting marathon session, accompanied by her doxy backup dancers, wasn’t so much shocking as it was jaded and cynical. It wasn’t sexy; it was tiresome, in-your-face, boring.

Beyonce needs better songwriters. She´s beautiful, has a decent voice for a pop star, can dance, and can put on a stage show. Other than the put a ring on it song the rest are blah....all energy and not much else.

Years ago we looked forward to half time. In the past few years half time has evolved in to little more than a lot of noise.

I saw a few minutes of the halftime show and had one thought: of how foolish I had been to think that a Mitt Romney could be elected president by a people who regard that crap as good entertainment. The goose is cooked, folks.

I did not watch either the game or the half time show. Yesterday I purchased the New York Post. On page 9 of the New York post was a picture of a note Beyonce had written to her fellow performers. And I quote - What a proud day for African American Women Kelly, Michelle, Alicia, Jhud You are all beautiful, talented and showed so much class! It was an honor to perform at the Superbowl with you phenomenal Ladies, Love Beyonce. So now, even the Superbowl is turned racial.

Surely Roger Goodell, the current NFL Commissioner, could "just say no" to these Super Bowl gutter acts/commercials that demean/disrespect our great nation´s heritage and are beamed to all corners of the globe?
"The highest standards of conduct must be met by everyone in the NFL because it is a privilege to represent the NFL, not a right," says The Honorable Commissioner Mr. Goodell.
Right on Rog, you da man with the the plan!

I agree that Beyonce can sing, dance and put on a show. She is talented. Beyonce, darlin´ you don´t have to be skeezy. Just sing and do your thing. You are a beautiful woman - respect yourself.
And NFL - please bring back Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers next year.

I didn´t see it so much as veering left as slouching Gomorrah-wise, although it is clear to anyone paying attention that leftism and moral decadence are pals. We all knew it was coming, though. Hasn´t it been clear for years that the NFL is going for the lomo viewer in the same way that pols are going for the lofo voter?

I agree that the Half time shows are junk. I never watch them anymore. It´s when we all get up, leave the room and eat! I THOUGHT I heard somewhere on TV yesterday that next year´s Half Time show will NOT be a Beyonce type extravagaza. Maybe someone else here heard that as well. I wonder when the Super Bowl became the Venue for young Rockers instead of Patrotic and clean entertainment that the whole family can watch!

I can do without the genitalia thrust, the leatherettes, smoke and lights, bourbon street show, and the my version of the star spangled banner. Just give me a respectful rendition of THE star spangled banner, and a family (male husband and female wife) half time show.

It was fun to watch for about the first 10 minutes..then..meh... BUT... I would never support her in anyway by buying anything she has to sell..clothing etc. etc. since I will never forgive her for her in your face.TAKE THAT MITCHES..tweet. As much as Iam convinced that Twitter is going to somehow bring an end to civilization as we know it..(smile)and I am not a fan..I am glad that idiots do show their true colors so that we can at least know..who to add to the do not buy, do not see, do not support list!!!

During his radio show on Friday, Rush Limbaugh told his listeners, “I think abortion is at the root of so much that has and is going wrong in this country.” The conservative host went on to discuss that the reason why amnesty is essential to the liberal agenda is because abortion has, since Roe v. Wade in 1973, wiped out millions of potential taxpayers. The Democrat Party, Limbaugh said, has turned to amnesty as a means to ensure a “permanent underclass” in order to continue its image as the party of big government entitlements.

In the midst of the eruption of near-daily scandals involving the Obama administration, let us not forget that until just a few months ago, Hillary Clinton was the most significant persona within that administration besides the president himself. Let us not also forget that notwithstanding the scandal-grenades going off all around us, Mrs. Clinton diligently plans her run for the presidency, even while several of those scandals are obviously and entirely her responsibility, exposing the State Department during her tenure as an utter sewer of corruption, cronyism, and fatal incompetence.

With an email today from the daughter of Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut, the group formerly known as the Obama reelection campaign, Organizing for Action, is reigniting the fight over guns in America. "My mom, Dawn Hochsprung, was the principal at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut," the email from Erica Lafferty begins. "Six months ago today, she was shot and killed in her school, along with five of her coworkers and 20 of her students."

A nationally syndicated columnist and NBC Latino contributor believes that Whole Foods´s policy of requiring its employees to speak English at work is not only inclusive but also just plain "common sense." Esther Cepeda rebukes those who jumped to conclusions and called Whole Foods "discriminatory," "anti-diversity," and "racist" for suspending two employees with pay for the "rude and disrespectful" way in which they complained about the company´s policy requiring them to speak English on the job. Contrary to initial reports, Whole Foods said the employees were not suspended for speaking Spanish, nor were they told they could not speak Spanish

In the latest black eye for the scandal-ridden State Department, a whistleblower claims she was run out of the foreign service after complaining about a consul general’s alleged office trysts with subordinates and hookers.Kerry Howard says she was bullied, harassed and forced to resign after she exposed US Consul General Donald Moore’s alleged security-threatening shenanigans in the Naples, Italy, office. As the post’s community-liaison officer, Howard was charged with keeping workplace peace and advising higher-ups on the state of morale, but when she revealed allegations about her boss, State Department officials swept it under the rug,

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.

Jeb Bush says he’s not worried that his work toward comprehensive immigration reform and his ties to the GOP establishment will alienate conservatives and negatively impact a potential 2016 presidential campaign, referring to critics as “the chirpers.” “If I decide to run for office again, it will be based on what I believe, and it will be based on my record,” the former Florida governor said in an interview with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody. “And that record was one of solving problems completely from a conservative prospective.” Bush (R) pointed to his conservative

As NewsBusters reported last week, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin called out vulgarian comedian Bill Maher for referring to her Down Syndrome son Trig as "retarded." On ABC´s The View Monday, co-host Barbara Walters astonishingly defended Maher saying, "I don´t think he intended it to be mean-spirited" (video follows with transcript and commentary): WHOOPI GOLDBERG: At a recent standup show in Las Vegas, comedian Bill Maher apparently called Sarah Palin’s five-year-old developmentally-challenged son Trig retarded. And Sarah blasted him on Twitter as a bully. Is that, is it, is he a bully? Is he a bad, what is he?

Politico’s Playbook has an excerpt from a new Ryan Lizza piece from the New Yorker that is not yet online. It contains a passage on the back-and-forth between labor and the Chamber that has a quote from a Rubio staffer that is going to raise eyebrows, to say the least: “There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you can’t obviously discuss that publicly.” Here is the entire context:
