RUSH: Eric Cantor is out saying the Republicans have to change. The Republican Party has to change. The Republican Party has to show that we want to help people. The Republican Party has to reach across the aisle. Karl Rove and his PAC. What is it, American Crossroads? Is that the name of his PAC? There was a New York Times story a couple of days ago that basically said they are gonna end up choosing Republican primary candidates so that they´re not "Tea Partied." The Republican establishment has had it with nominees like Sharron Angle,

Comments:
The Go Along to Get Along Gang in the Republican Party is trying hard to push out the Social Conservatives from the party. The 2012 Republican Primary was the most intense effort I have ever seen by them in their effort to purge Social Conservatism. They got their candidate of choice for the General Preisdential Election and LOST and then wondered why.

Rove has one thing in mind. That is to get Jeb Bush in the WH. That`s his end game.

Good luck with that, Karl.

Guess they want to bring back the 70´s where they were a useless minority. Maybe thats better than being a useless majority.

There is a large segment of the Republican party that only votes for them because of the social issues. If the Republican party becomes liberal, there will be no reason to vote for them, since many of these are low income or seniors dependent on social programs. If the social issues become moot, why would these voters not vote for the party that claims to preserve their social programs? Or become discouraged and not vote at all?

New York "Republicans" compromised plenty with Democrats over the past 30 years - and look at the result. The Republican Party is a virtual non-entity in the State of New York. Selling out Republican constituents for 30 pieces of silver whenever provided the opportunity has decimated the GOP in New York.

After the latest insult by nominally "Republican" Dean Skelos in agreeing to turn 80% of the gun owners in the state into felons at the swipe of Andrew Cuomo´s pen, the state GOP will have to be burned down to the ground in order to rebuild it.

If the national GOP follows the same path, it will suffer (and the nation will suffer) the same fate.

Bring it on, GAGAG

Grass roots support (both $$ and time) will dry up as true conservative candidates siphon off the resources.

No need to funnel it thru the RNC, we will give directly to those who we know will listen to us.

Having a third party made up of tea party types would be good for this country.

the democratic party is too liberal for traditional dems, and tradional dems (reagan democrats) wont go near the republican party after what the bushes, dole, mccain, romney etc did to the party (who can blame them)

a new party based upon integrity and truth would be able to pick up a lot of conservative dems.

the independents can vote for the repugs as they will not be as severely left as the democratic party is today

in a nutshell, the dimms have the most to lose by a third party

I don´t agree with the establishment people, but the truth is that social issues should NOT be part of the TEA parties in the first place. the TEA parties could win all the time if they would focus only on economics, fiscal responsibility, freedom , limited government and the Constitution. Forget the subjects that we have already lost for nearly 40 years. You can fight for them AFTER you win. The establishment needs to work with the TEA parties and the TEA parties need to put the social issues on hold. That is the ONLY way we will EVER get control again.

I find myself turning Rush off more and more.

notice that he did not say anthing about Rove directly?

Rush and Rove remind of the two old guys in trading place betting on Eddie Murphy. I dont think they care anymore. it is all about the money for these two.

cant remember Rush ever DOING anything other than talking.

I received an email today from the Senate Conservatives Fund on this war perpetrated by Rove and American Crossroads. They said they will band together with other conservative groups as much as possible for 2014 to elect conservative/Tea Party types and get rid of the dead wood incumbents. Then it hit me. McConnell is scared to death of having a Tea Party challenge in 2014. He has been kissing up to the Tea Parties in Kentucky (reportedly) because he has heard they will try to primary him. I think he was primaried in his last election six years ago. I am betting Rove has McConnell in mind when saying they will fight for the incumbent over the Tea Party candidate.
I agree with Rush, Rove is a fool for starting a war with Tea Party members. He threw 300 million away in 2012, the Tea Party can get it done for much less in 2014.

As long as we Americans vote for the same trash in government how can we possibly expect a different result? This includes voting for either party.

Mr. Rove and ANY other Republicans who diss the Tea Party and any other Conservatives who handed them the shellacking of 2010 and the House and overwhelming State victories in 2012 are fools who BITE THE HANDS THAT FEED THEM.

It´s been fun unregistering for all of these Republican email lists, and even more fun when I suggested to the gentleman on the phone that I wouldn´t be reactivating my Republican Party membership this year.

Irrelevancy is just around the corner.

Reagan won by talking about the issues.
The republican party needs to decide what it stands for and then get the message out.
Smaller government.
Lower taxes.
Strong military.
Close down the border.
Liberty.
Individual Freedom.

#14 - good possibility that email was from Ted Cruz who is on this committee as second in charge of the Senatorial Conservatives.

After the backlash to the NYT´s piece on Rove´s comments, the NYTs scrubbed Rove completely from the article and saying it was only the Atty. Law´s opinion and comments.

Got a call today:

"Hello, this is the Republican Party calling..."

"Well you can hold it right there. I´ll never give another dime to the Republican Party until Rove is gone. All my money is going to the NRA, I´m an endowment member and still shelling out, and the Tea Party. Now, until Rove is gone, along with the current Republican assault on the Tea Party, take me off your damn call list."

"Click".

Rove and his ilk are only interested in power. The health and welfare of the nation comes in a distant, distant second, if at all. In this regard Rove is as clear and present a danger to the future of this country as Cass Sunstein.

Repeating an earlier post, Republican politics has nothing to do w/principled conservatism and never did. Sad the vincible ignorance of many posts. The GOP is a secular progressive and corporatist party and has been since 1870; which is why they repeatedly choose jackasses such as the Bush Buffoons, Dole, McCain, Romney etc.

The wimpy establishment Republicans also known as as the Democrat lite Party will never win any sort of social welfare bidding war with the liberal Democrats to secure the majority of future votes from ethnic and racial population groups.

The only way they could do that is become more liberal then the liberal Democrats, and if the wimpy Republicans did that, they would loose enough of their conservative base who would form a third political party, causing the wimpy Republicans to be a minority inconsequential political party if they even survived at all.

Two men who allegedly slaughtered a soldier in a Woolwich street were known to security services, it emerged today. David Cameron revealed that authorities were looking into what was already known about Drummer Lee Rigby´s alleged killers, but it is not thought they were considered to be an immediate threat. One of the men, believed to be Michael Adebolajo, is believed to have been arrested after he went to Somalia to join banned Islamist group al Ahabaab. Radical preacher Anjem Choudary has blamed the terrorist murder in Woolwich on David Cameron and Britain´s actions in Afghanistan. Choudary, who grew up in Woolwich, was responded to reports that the alleged beheading was perpetrated by Islamic terrorists shouting "Allah u Akbar" - God is great. In response to the news, Choudary tweeted: "National News tell me that the man killed in woolwich is apparently being treated as "terrorist" as the attackers were shouting Allahu Akbar. "If they were Muslims killing a British soldier then the presence of British troops in Muslim land [Afghanistan] is surely a cause of insecurity in the UK."

The IRS official who oversaw the unit responsible for the targeting of conservative groups has been placed on administrative leave, Fox News confirms, a day after she refused to testify at a congressional hearing. Capitol Hill sources said Lois Lerner, the director of exempt organizations, was placed on leave. It comes amid calls from some lawmakers for her to be suspended or fired. Lerner, the official who first acknowledged the controversial IRS practice earlier this month, asserted her innocence at a House hearing on Wednesday. She then refused to testify, citing her Fifth Amendment right not to answer questions.

It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
