| The Prime Minister won his first Commons battle to legalise same-sex marriage by a margin of 400 votes to 175. But his victory came at the cost of a major split in the Conservative Party, with more than half of his MPs refusing to back him. Despite his 11th-hour appeal for support, only around 130 of the 303 Conservative MPs last night joined Mr Cameron in voting for gay marriage. 139 voted against and 30 others abstained.

This is going to cause persecution to members of Catholic clergy who will not in conscious be able to approve this. And what about the muslims? They don´t approve of this either.

The Catholic and other Christian ministers that refuse to participate in these evil, perverse, anti-Christian rites will be arrested and thrown in prison.
But, like always, the muslims will be given ´´exemptions´´ due to their religious beliefs.
Gee, I wonder if that is because the Christians won´t be blowing up busses, burning down buildings, raping, pillaging and plundering, if they don´t get their exemptions???

Very good UK, you did yourselves proud.
Now, be prepared to ratify as legal group marriages. You have no legal leg to stand on to refuse the marriages of multiple parties.
The only reason you don´t hear more of this is that polyamory isn´t very big in Western cultures. But, gee, it is popular in other cultures.
Maybe some pro-gay-marriage activist can explain to me why homosexual marriage can be voted legal, but multiple marriages cannot.
You cannot have a door that is both closed and open. Now suck on that one a while, my UK friends.

I can bake a beautiful Angel Food Cake. What makes it Angel Food is that no egg yolks are used - only the whites. Betty Crocker has a recipe called "Daffodil Cake." This is an alteration to Angel Food. One third of the batter is mixed with egg yolks and poured on top of half the batter, then covered with the remaining half. The center of the cake is yellow.
The Daffodil Cake looks just like an Angel Food cake from the outside. But it isn´t the same. Change the ingredients, you´ve got something different.
Marriage is a particular relationship, with particular components that serve a particular (and useful) purpose. Change those components and, no matter what other elements of marriage are added, the relationship is not marriage. The decision in England is truly worth grieving. Not long from now every state in this union will blindly follow suit. Those of us who refuse to capitulate for religious or pragmatic reasons will be increasingly demonized and penalized.

Will Cameron now work on getting fiscal policy in order and jobs, or will there be more tangential issues to keep him up? This measure does what for civilization? Ruin is all I can see.

When is somebody going to stand up and finally speak the truth. There is no such thing as "same-sex marriage" in natural law. Nature is not gender neutral. Nature invented the male-female gender system for proceation and genetic diversity. It was an evolutionary leap that allowed complex animal life form like us mammal to exist. Marriage is a mating ritual. It is inherently male and female.

CHICAGO — The Angus burger is going away, and it may not be the only McDonald´s dish on the chopping block. The world´s largest restaurant chain has also considered axing Caesar salads, the McSkillet Burrito, the Southern Style Biscuit and steak bagels, according to a franchisee email obtained by Bloomberg News. While the Angus burger contains as many as 820 calories and costs $4, the culling isn´t simply about offering healthier fare and cheaper items. It´s an effort by McDonald´s Corp. to streamline a menu that has expanded by 70 percent to about 145 items since 2007 — straining

You may have heard that there are a variety of scandals unfolding in Washington D.C. at the moment. Scandals swirling around the White House this week include revelations that the Internal Revenue Service singled out conservative groups for intimidation, that the Department of Justice may have expressed their frustration with the Associated Press by obtaining an absurdly wide swath of phone records, and the ever-unfolding scandal surrounding Benghazi and the administration’s response to that attack. With all these overwhelming controversies enveloping the executive branch, one question dominates in the media: When will Republicans overstep in their effort to criticize

In an interview with Bloomberg TV, former Obama chief of staff-turned-Treasury Secretary Jack Lew offered two conflicting yet carefully worded answers as to when he first learned that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) had targeted Tea Party and conservative groups: he learned last week--and possibly before the 2012 election. Bloomberg´s Al Hunt asked Lew, whose Treasury Department oversees the IRS: “When were you first notified that IRS agents were targeting conservative groups like the Tea Party?” Instead of answering Hunt’s question directly, however, Lew instead chose to answer when he first learned about the IG report, a tactic

You can feel their pain as disillusioned devotees begin peeling Obama stickers from their bumpers, no longer anxious to share an identity with him as he slips further and further into a festering pool of scandal. For years these True Believers rationalized every faux pas and reckless word emanating from the White House, because to them none of it mattered in the greater light of his glorious incumbency. If he joked with Jay Leno about his inept bowling, saying “it was like the Special Olympics,” so what? If he dismissed his critics as “people who cling to their guns

A healthcare provider has sued the Internal Revenue Service and 15 of its agents, charging they wrongfully seized 60 million medical records from 10 million Americans. The name of the provider is not yet known, United Press International said. But Courthouse News Service said the suit claims the agency violated the Fourth Amendment in 2011, when agents executed a search warrant for financial data on one employee – and that led to the seizure of information on 10 million, including state judges. The search warrant did not specify that the IRS could take medical information, UPI said.

Michelle Obama, who admitted last month that her bangs were ´getting a little irritating,´ seems to have finally had enough of her five-month old haircut. The First Lady debuted her new longer ´do on Friday during her commencement address at Bowie State University. Her bangs, which she cut for her 49th birthday in January because of a ´midlife crisis,´ were grown out and parted to the side with her wavy hair slightly longer, touching her shoulders. ´This is my midlife crisis, the bangs. I couldn´t get a sports car,´ she told talk show host Rachael Ray

Nice try, Mr. President. Feigning anger, firing an unknown bureaucrat and fleeing the podium won’t cut it with voters, or stop the hemorrhaging of the scandals that have spawned a Watergate-like feel around the Obama administration. There was a certain panicky look about the way the president quickly delivered a rare evening White House statement to try to quell the growing outrage over the IRS targeting of Tea Party groups. The move showed how damaging the scandal has become to Obama’s second term and maybe even his presidency. But Obama took no questions and, more importantly,

Watching President Obama trying to dodge raindrops and responsibility yesterday reminded me of the moment when Dorothy pulls back the curtain and discovers that the Wizard of Oz is “just a man.” Stripped of his spell of mystery and power, the wizard is worse than mortal. He’s a fake. So it was with Obama in the Rose Garden. His performance was tired and trite, ordinary to the point of dull. His veneer of passion was so transparent that you could see him trying to summon his old-time magic by pushing the buttons

STANDING BEFORE reporters Thursday, President Obama declined an invitation to compare the recent scandals weighing down his administration with those that forced President Nixon to resign in 1974. So allow us to do the work for him: There is no comparison. Nixon, in a series of crimes that collectively came to be known as Watergate, directed from the White House and Justice Department a concerted campaign against those he perceived as political enemies, in the process subverting the FBI, the IRS, other government agencies and the electoral process to his nefarious purposes. Mr. Obama has done nothing of the kind.

The State Department, under Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton, created an arrangement for her longtime aide and confidante Huma Abedin to work for private clients as a consultant while serving as a top adviser in the department. Ms. Abedin did not disclose the arrangement — or how much income she earned — on her financial report. It requires officials to make public any significant sources of income. An adviser to Mrs. Clinton, Philippe Reines, said that Ms. Abedin was not obligated to do so. The disclosure of the agreement that Ms. Abedin made with the State Department comes as her husband,

The White House on Wednesday released 94 pages of emails between top administration and intelligence officials who helped shape the talking points about the attacks in Benghazi, Libya, that the CIA would provide to policymakers in both the legislative and executive branches. The documents, first reported by THE WEEKLY STANDARD in articles here and here, directly contradict claims by White House press secretary Jay Carney and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton that the revisions of those talking points were driven by the intelligence community and show heavy input from top Obama administration officials, particularly those at the State Department.

On Thursday´s NBC Today, in a desperate attempt to deflect from the scandals engulfing the Obama administration, co-host Savannah Guthrie wondered: "I read a headline yesterday that said Republicans see blood in the water. That they see a president who´s very vulnerable politically. Is there a danger that they will overreach?" Chief White House correspondent Chuck Todd agreed with the slanted premise: "There is. I mean, that´s what happened to Republicans in 1998 with Bill Clinton.

President Obama’s press conference in the rain was not a success, if by success, his supporters would mean an event which convinces anyone who doesn’t work for him that he’s getting ahead of the scandal deluge. The sight of a Marine holding an umbrella over his head only added to the weirdness of the event. So what did we learn? 1. He has full confidence in Attorney General Eric Holder, the man who purportedly recused himself (whenever) without putting it in writing (whatever). When asked about the untrammeled snooping on Associated Press reporters and editors,
