| The federal health care law could nearly triple premiums for some young and healthy men, according to a forthcoming survey of insurers that singles out a group that might become a major public opinion battleground in the Obamacare wars. The survey, fielded by the conservative American Action Forum and made available to POLITICO, found that if the law’s insurance rules were in force, the premium for a relatively bare-bones policy for a 27-year-old male nonsmoker on the individual market would be nearly 190 percent higher. So when all those 26-year olds aren´t covered on their parents´ policies now they will have to get their own policies at triple the cost. Such a deal! The hits just keep on coming and it´s going to get a whole lot worse. It is criminal what they were allowed to do to us. A pox on the Democrats and John Roberts. I hope the Democrats pay dearly for this.

I view all Politico articles with disbelief. It´s the same as reading the Washington Post or the New York Times. If it´s true, they´ll pull it.

If true, or even if only partly true, and if it is the young men who are the ones who will be deciding whether or not to buy insurance, the young men will mostly choose to go uninsured. And then they will find that they are now also subject to the Obama tax/fine for being uninsured.
Those low-information voters are not going to be happy about this:
Before Obamacare: insured by employer. After Obamacare: dumped by employer plan, exchange plan unaffordable, uninsured - and now having to pay an extra tax to the IRS.

What happens to people who have insurance for part of the year then drop it when it costs too much? Do they get a tax penalty? Do they get tax credits for the part of the year they had insurance? It´s going to take an actuary to calculate a 1040EZ tax form.
