Jeb Bush says yes to CPAC
Hill [Washington,DC], by Cameron Joseph

Original Article

Posted By:BuckeyeRon, 2/5/2013 12:31:17 PM

Former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush (R) will speak for the first time at this year´s Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC), a regular stop for Republican presidential hopefuls. The move is a sign that Bush is seeking a more public role within the GOP, though it´s unclear whether he´s more interested in playing an elder-statesman role or in running for president. While Bush has been invited to speak at previous CPAC events, this is the first time he´s accepted the offer. "We are pleased to announce that my friend Governor Jeb Bush will be a featured speaker at CPAC 2013,"

They should drop the word conservative from their title.

Have heard from folks in Florida that he was a great Governor.

As Governor his daughter was arrested for illegal drug prescriptions and his wife tried to bring expensive items in without paying duty-entitled?
Why did Jeb and his father meet with the Usurper in the WH before the election?
Selling Romney out to keep seat open for Jeb in 2016?
Barbara Bush´s nasty comments about Palin?
Barbara -wealthy heiress who dropped out of college to marry.
Sarah -put herself through college, married, had a Family, fought corruption in both Parties and won the Governorship.
Barbara thought she could look down on her because she wasn´t rich and entitled.
Sorry - no more Bushes.

I think Jeb Bush would make a great president, but I don´t expect he´ll run. His
focus is on preparing the way for his son George P. to run, after Obama has made such a mess of things that the country will be begging for a Bush to run!

Good for Jeb. I´m happy to see anyone who claims an R and has done a good job as a full term governor under my conservative tent. He will have something useful to add to the CPAC effort. And,you can relax, #1. No old Bush boogeybear will be chasing you in 2016. It´s all going to be okay.

We saw how inclusive and successful YOUR big tent was this past year.

Suddenly you are all for including all voices? As if the clipboard and guest list in in your hands?

Wow, you probably think this post is about you.

Shouldn´t you have to be a conservative to get into CPAC in the first place? No RINO´s or "moderates" need apply. What is going to do? I guess he plans to bash the Tea Party? No thank you sir.

The showboating of the show horses has begun--

we need a REAL conservative work horse instead of a show horse.

Is CPAC turning into RINO PAC?

I don´t think the Republicans have learned anything from the last election.
Don´t they know that a lot of Republicans will just stay home again, sick at their stomach, if they nominate someone like Jeb Bush.

Anyone who actually cares to look at his RECORD as governor, would know that he was a conservative in the vein of Rick Perry. On quite a few issues, he is to the right of his brother and definitely to the right of his Dad...at least in terms of governance.

As long as Republicans have open primaries the Democrats will vote in droves for Jeb Bush knowing the conservatives will never vote for him. If he gets the nomination he will get fewer votes than Romney. Good grief what are we becoming an aristocracy? No more Bushes and no more Clinton´s including Hillary and Chelsea.

Some posters tickle me to death. How many elections do you think you will win without the people you seem to hate and it´s a long list, all of the Bushes, Karl Rove, the devil, and everyone else who disagrees with you "true" conservatives, including the CPAC?

Reply 24 - Posted by: Sunhan65, 2/5/2013 11:49:29 PM     (No. 9160890)

Let´s see: One term governor, R after his name, political family....

Well, I guess that really does tick all the boxes. He must be a conservative. We should probably nominate him right now to save time and avoid those nasty primaries with all those people trying to take the nomination away from its rightful owner.

Because it´s his turn....

Reply 25 - Posted by: Penney, 2/5/2013 11:59:48 PM     (No. 9160898)

Moving right along, sure would prefer to see Kris Kobach(Ks.), address CPAC. And Gov. Walker. And, yes, Gov. Palin. There are LOTS of other merited GOP voices out here and we are waiting expectantly for all of them to be heard!

Out with the same olds & in with the new!...Conservatives, that is!

Reply 26 - Posted by: tomishere, 2/6/2013 12:42:30 AM     (No. 9160922)

I agree that a third Bush is to much, however I cannot believe the ignorant comments here. Most of you must be to lazy to check out his record.#24 he served two terms. He was a very conservative governor, anyone remember Terry Schiavo tax cuts balanced budgets. Most of you posting have never looked at his record. It´s unnerving to think conservatives think with their emotions like liberals.

Reply 27 - Posted by: Sunhan65, 2/10/2013 2:37:53 PM     (No. 9168924)

Apologies for the second post (not that anyone´s still reading). When Samuel Johnson was asked to explain how he had so badly misdefined one entry in his Dictionary, he replied, "Ignorance, Madam. Pure ignorance." Jeb Bush did, indeed, serve two terms as Governor of Florida, as #26 correctly points out. Pure ignorance on my part. So now we agree on two things: I am ignorant and Jeb Bush should not be our nominee in 2016.

Senators may confirm Penny Pritzker next month to lead the Commerce Department, a top Senate Republican said after a drama-free hearing Thursday. Commerce Committee senators on both sides of the aisle largely shied away from the controversies surrounding the family of Chicago billionaire and Hyatt Hotel heiress Pritzker, despite GOP criticism centering on the use of subprime lending practices and offshore bank accounts. (Snip) The hearing was surprisingly cordial with questions ranging from cybersecurity to the National Weather Service to creating manufacturing jobs to fisheries. Only three questions, two from Thune, related to Pritzker’s family.

Whatever else happens as a result of the multiple controversies that have engulfed the administration, one thing is clear: President Obama has failed to meet one of the most important goals he set out when he was first elected, which was to demonstrate that activist government could also be smart government. Richmond, Va.—Virginia´s activist conservative attorney general has won the Republican Party´s gubernatorial nomination by acclamation. At the GOP´s statewide convention, thousands of conservatives and tea party followers who dominated the Richmond Coliseum on Saturday roared their unanimous support for Ken Cuccinelli. He was unopposed for the nomination and is generally beloved by the tea party for his aggressive challenges to federal mandates. Cuccinelli is an abortion foe who was the first state attorney general to challenge President Barack Obama´s health care reforms in 2010. He faces former Democratic National Committee chairman and Clinton family protege Terry McAuliffe

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
