| Since the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut, on December 14, 2012, President Obama has made eight public statements regarding gun violence. His most recent remarks took place on Monday in Minneapolis. In those remarks, President Obama has not only deplored the gun violence that took place at Sandy Hook but the gun violence that has taken place over the past couple of years in Tucson, Aurora, Colorado and Oak Creek, Wisconsin. He has also made reference to gun violence in cities such as Chicago and Philadelphia. Consider these remarks made by President Obama on January 16, 2013,

I´m sick and tired of Obama grand standing on the gun issue and his selectivity on who´s the real villains.There´s an open and shut case on the Ft.Hood shooter who should have already had the death penalty used on him.He´s actually the type person Obama approves of hitting with a drone strike.
The left is really befuddled about the Newtown dad coming out in strong favor of the 2nd amendment.They figured the whole state of Conn. were co-opted liberals.
Newtown has already voted in favor of armed security guards at schools,making Obama´s case even weaker. He needs to drop his gun battle and move on to something else,like an early retirement.We´re more than likely paying someone to dress Obama,we can throw that in a retirement package.

Ft. Hood was a Muslim terrorist attack. It is being deliberately ignored by the MSM by undoubtedly, orders from the Obama administration. All the main stream American media are Obama´s beeches.

Ft hood is also relevant in the context of background check effectiveness. Here we have a perpetrator who interacted with government mental health professionals daily for years in his role as a military psychiatrist, and yet none were able to predict his actions and prevent him from buying guns. The govt was reading his emails to terrorists but couldn´t anticipate his violent act. Evil will always be with us. A free society cannot be protected fully from itself by the govt, but it should be free to protect itself.

I´m curious...about Fearless Leader´s ´gun-op´ photo shoot...
One would think that his possession of several fraudulent pieces of state and federal ID - would put him in ´Felon not to be in possession of a firearm´ territory.
That is, unless he´d care to explain his bogus Connecticut Social Security card - the *only* Selective Service card in US history to use a ´2 digit date´, and the obvious ´alterations´ to what he´s passed off as his ´official birth certificate´.
For the rest of us - any of those would equal jail time.
*NONE* has been addressed or clarified.
So Barry - put down the gun. You´re a criminal in possession of a firearm...

It must be George W. Bush’s fault. Everything else is. The moonbats’ verdict is in. Barack Obama couldn’t possibly have done all those terrible things the vast right-wing conspiracy is accusing him of. And they’re not scandals, either. Obama’s troubles are merely “controversies” or, to use Dear Leader’s own phrase, a sideshow. Scandals only happen to Republicans, just like Deval Patrick didn’t go on a junket to Ireland. Jay Carney insists Benghazi, Libya, is not a scandal, but then he doesn’t admit to having misled the media about the origin of the attacks. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. A healthcare provider has sued the Internal Revenue Service and 15 of its agents, charging they wrongfully seized 60 million medical records from 10 million Americans. The name of the provider is not yet known, United Press International said. But Courthouse News Service said the suit claims the agency violated the Fourth Amendment in 2011, when agents executed a search warrant for financial data on one employee – and that led to the seizure of information on 10 million, including state judges. The search warrant did not specify that the IRS could take medical information, UPI said.
