| Couches throughout the nation have become notorious for containing flame-retardant chemicals that may do more harm than good. Now, it turns out, those chemicals may also be leaching from the walls that surround you. Because of laws passed in the 1970s, many homes and workplaces built in the United States since then contain foam insulation doused with flame retardants. Not only are these substances potentially hazardous, but they also often do not make a structure any safer from fire, say researchers from UC Berkeley, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and other institutions, in a study published in November.

The government is here to help. They took away DDT on flimsy evidence, now malaria runs rampant. They put MTBE in our gasoline, on flimsy evidence, and now there´s a carcinogen in water supplies across the land.
They put ineffective, destructive ethanol in our gasoline because the corn/ethanol lobbies wanted more money. We must use CFL light bulbs that catch fire and create mercury pollution in landfills. No phosphates in detergents, now dishwashers and washing machines are hobbled.
And here they replaced asbestos (excellent insulator) with lesser materials that appear to leak through walls and cause health issues.

If the gov approves it then mandates it, most likely it´s not in your best interest. We live in different times with closed buildings and toxic fumes.

WASHINGTON - There were new questions Saturday night concerning if anyone in the White House was aware of the IRS´ targeting of conservative groups. Inspector General Russell George said he informed a deputy at the Treasury Department in June of 2012 about the probe into the IRS. The Treasury Department confirmed the timeline but said they did not know the details of the investigation until last week.(Snip)Marcus Owens ran the tax-exempt division at the IRS for 10 years. He said it isn´t difficult to figure out who´s doing what at the agency.

Treasury Secretary Jack Lew on Friday urged congressional leaders to raise the debt limit and insisted that the White House is not going to negotiate over the increase because lawmakers have "no choice." "We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.
