Poor Kids Are No Excuse For
America´s Poor Education

Education: It´s a depressingly common annual headline: U.S. students fare poorly compared with those in other countries even though America spends far more on its schools. But a new report wants you to believe that U.S. schools really aren´t so bad compared with other developed countries. It´s just the greater number of poor kids they have to educate that makes them appear bad. This is nothing more than a rehash of the tired ideology that schools cannot be held responsible for how well students learn. Vested interests in education do not like the results revealed by standardized tests,

Schools can´t fix a broken homelife with neglectful, abusive and absent parents. Nor can they change a culture where education is shunned.

I believe the mantra is if you study or go to the liebary, you are actin whitey.

The importance of education begins at home well before a child enters school. Income level has nothing to do with literacy.

Just examine how many Ivy League politicians are equally illeterate. Just read their speeches.

Well, there is also the unions that allow incompetent teachers who basically only know ebonics and other teachers who believe grammar is a "white thang".

Who has time for mathematics, science, history or just basic learning. Let China, Europe and India kick our "clueless" back side... while our kids are learning that it is okay to have purple hair and tat on your kids neck.

Poverty, poverty the source of all our ills. The possibility that poverty is NOT the primary factor for poor education scores or that poverty might NOT be the primary predictor for failing schools is never considered by Romantic Liberals. For more than Fifty years, the educational system has shown over and over and over and over that families are the primary predictor of educational success.

The real fix isn´t throwing money at the education system. The real fix is establishing programs to support and build up traditional families (Oh the horror!!) that value education. The real fix is degrading social groups that devalue education (Now that is really racist!!).

Anything else is simply throwing someone else´s hard earned money down the toilet.

It also requires expending individual effort, and a great deal of it....something sadly in very short supply in these "poor" cultures. So don´t blame it on the schools. Blame it on the family structure, or more precisely, the lack thereof.

I went to elementary school in the late forties and there were plenty of poor kids there. And by poor I mean desperately poor but I am willing to bet that they got a better education than what is being shoveled out to them today.

And not only a poor learning experience but also propaganda on global warming and saving the planet.

Remember Marva Collins ?

It takes a village as somebody once said.
It has to start with caring parents, teachers that actually care about teaching, and kids that want to learn.

Teachers unions and politicians aren´t helping by throwing good money after bad.

Poor Koreans, poor Chinese, poor Japanese, and poor pre-1960s Americans achieved much in school. But they had caring parents and professional teachers interested in imparting information rather than indoctrination.

Poor education can be directly traced to the thug unions whose motto is gimmme, gimmme me first.

It´s the attitude of the unions, parents and the children themselves that leads to success in education. If you want to be a thug, drug dealer or low life, you will be. If all a teacher cares about is money, they will not teach. If the union only cares about power and money, kids will not learn no matter what.

Mediaite, by Matt Wilstein    Original Article

Monday night, MSNBC’s Chris Hayes used an essay on Slate about the Bundy Ranch standoff and race as a jumping off point to discuss how this story would be different if rancher Cliven Bundy’s armed supporters were black. “When is it that people take up arms against the federal or state government, point their arms at federal agents and face no consequence for it?” Hayes asked. “The answer is to that is hardly ever.” Hayes went on to imagine how Fox News react to the New Black Panthers if they decided to “greet law enforcement with long guns.” Or what if the

BUNKERVILLE, Nev. — Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid says “something is going to happen” to get Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy to stop letting his cattle graze on federal land. “It’s obvious that you can’t just walk away from this. And we can speculate all we want to speculate to what’s going to happen next,” Reid told KSNV-TV. “But I don’t think it’s going to be tomorrow that something is going to happen, but something will happen. We are a nation of laws, not of men and women.” Reid called militias staying at Bundy’s Bunkerville ranch “domestic violent terrorist-wannabes.” Sen. Dean Heller, R-Nev.,

Eric Holder: Obama’s ‘Clemency

Daily Caller, by Patrick Howley    Original Article

Attorney General Eric Holder criticized drug sentences doled out under “the old regime” in a video Monday announcing the Obama administration’s “Clemency Project 2014.” “In 2010, President Obama signed the Fair Sentencing Act reducing unfair disparities in sentences imposed on people for offenses involving different forms of cocaine. But there’s still too many people in federal prison who were sentenced under the old regime and who, as a result, will have to spend far more time in prison than they would if sentenced today for exactly the same crime. This is simply not right,” Holder says in the video. President Obama could

Several weeks ago the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia sponsored a debate–more a discussion–between me and Thaddeus Mason Pope about end of life care under the Affordable Care Act. He supports medical futility. I oppose it. We went from there. I began my presentation with the quote in the headline above–asserting that Palin’s term “death panels” may have put a spear through the heart of Obamacare. I then said: People are afraid of centralized bureaucrats dictating whether Craig’s [the moderator’s terminally ill babies) children can have medical care, whether my 96-year-old mother can have medical care, whether people with disabilities can have medical

Corruption: The senator who once guarded funding for a cowboy poetry festival in his home state now thinks those who stand in the way of his family´s increasing fortunes for defending their land are domestic terrorists. Cliven Bundy now finds himself being called a "domestic terrorist" for disputing the payment of grazing fees to a federal government he believes does not or at least should not own the 84% of Nevada that his cattle graze upon. "Those people who hold themselves out to be patriots are not. They´re nothing more than domestic terrorists," said Sen. Harry Reid last Thursday. "I repeat: What

After Breitbart Texas reported on the U.S. Bureau of Land Management’s (BLM) intent to seize 90,000 acres belonging to Texas landholders along the Texas/Oklahoma line, Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott questioned the BLM’s authority to take such action. “I am about ready,” General Abbott told Breitbart Texas, “to go to go to the Red River and raise a ‘Come and Take It’ flag to tell the feds to stay out of Texas.” Gen. Abbott sent a strongly-worded letter to BLM Director Neil Kornze, asking for answers to a series of questions related to the potential land grab. “I am deeply concerned about the

Although this editorial was written more than 20 years ago, just replace "Clinton" with "Obama," and it all applies perfectly to ObamaCare, from the phony promises to the bogus financing scheme to the massive new bureaucracy. It was this editorial and as many as 100 more like it in IBD that helped spare the nation the tragedy that would have been HillaryCare. The 246-page first draft of President Clinton´s health care reform proposal tells us plenty about the type of people in the White House these days. The plan reads like a very slick con job, and that should cause every taxpaying

The Obama administration is poised to entertain a flood of new clemency applications from thousands of federal prisoners who were given harsh sentences under mandatory-minimum laws following drug convictions, Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday. Holder said in a short videotaped statement that he wants to shrink the federal prison population by a modest amount while ensuring ´that those who have paid their debts have a chance to become productive citizens.´ At the center of the move is a set of old sentencing rules that punished crack-cocaine offenders with more time behind bars than users or traffickers of powder cocaine.

The Citizens Commission on Benghazi, a self-selected group of former top military officers, CIA insiders and think-tankers, declared Tuesday in Washington that a seven-month review of the deadly 2012 terrorist attack has determined that it could have been prevented – if the U.S. hadn´t been helping to arm al-Qaeda militias throughout Libya a year earlier. ´The United States switched sides in the war on terror with what we did in Libya, knowingly facilitating the provision of weapons to known al-Qaeda militias and figures,´ Clare Lopez, a member of the commission and a former CIA officer, told MailOnline. Public Trust: Sixty-one percent polled say President Obama lies "some of the time" or "most of the time" on matters of national importance. Americans have to ask: Why do we let him get away with it? It´s no surprise that a Fox News poll of 1,012 registered voters last week found immense distrust of a president whose main domestic initiative was based on a lie. The shock is that the same poll found his disapproval level down to its lowest since last fall. Asked, "How often do you think Barack Obama lies to the country on important matters?" 37% replied "most of

Former Sen. Bob Dole (R-Kan.) said a number of junior GOP senators considering a presidential run in 2016 do not yet have the experience — specifically naming Rand Paul (Ky.), Marco Rubio (Fla.) and Ted Cruz (Texas). The former 1996 GOP presidential candidate sounded particularly skeptical of Cruz in an interview this week with The Wichita Eagle. "A number of the younger members, first-termers like Rand Paul, Rubio and that extreme-right-wing guy, Ted Cruz — all running for president now. I don´t think they´ve got enough experience yet," Dole said. The 90-year-old former senator said, however, his main concern about 2016 is living

If Jeb reaches for the nomination, there will be a titanic battle between the party establishment and the Tea Party. Steve Schmidt, McCain’s strategist in 2008, insists that in the end Republicans usually settle on the most electable candidate. To get by, this Bush may be forced to trim his positions, although the cautionary tale of Romney suggests that he would have to tack artfully and carefully for the sake of the general election. Certainly he will have the resources to outlast, discredit, and disqualify his rivals.

Washington - Michelle Obama said "splurging is the key to life" if you regularly eat right and stay active. Her biggest guilty pleasure: French fries. "How would you appreciate vegetables if you never had chocolate?" she asked. "You couldn´t live without a little chocolate, a little French fries." The first lady took questions from children reporters Monday after appearing at the White House Easter Egg Roll. She told the children that if they eat right the majority of the time, then a splurge or snack is not going to hurt them. "I still splurge when I can, but that's why I try to exercise almost every day," she said.

There’s a pattern of falsifying statistics throughout the entire Census Bureau. And anyone who attempts to blow the whistle on the fraud is either retaliated against or ignored, according to two new sources who have experienced the process firsthand. As I’ve been writing for more than six months, the Census Bureau office in Philadelphia uncovered a case of fraud in 2010, did nothing about it and allowed the practice to continue. In that instance, a data collector named Julius Buckmon was faking reports that went into the nation’s all-important jobless tally and consumer-inflation survey. Because the Census Bureau’s surveys are scientific — meaning
