| The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff is telling a different story about Benghazi than the State Department and the Central Intelligence Agency. If the story Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs, is telling is correct, then the story the State Department Accountability Review Board (ARB) and the Central Intelligence Agency have told is not. If the story the State Department and the CIA have told is correct, than Gen. Dempsey is telling an inaccurate story to explain why the Defense Department sent no help to the State Department and CIA personnel

Guys, there is only one conclusion that fits the data. The Obama administration wanted our Ambassador to be kidnapped - alive - so that his freedom could be exchanged for that of the Blind Sheik, whom Obama wanted to free but needed cover for such an act.
Why else would the attackers have been happy to find him alive, and hauled him away alive rather than killing him on the spot? Why else would security have been moved away and/or been ordered to stand down? Why else would they have denied assistance?
This has the M.O. of the Fast/Furious operation; an incompetently implemented bad idea.

The ambassador died from smoke inhalation, not from gunshot wounds. So one could argue that it was sort of an accidental death, if there really was a scheme to swap the blind sheik for the ambassador. I´m usually not big on conspiracy theories, but...

Hours were spent chartering a private plane! Will we arrive at the point where our marines go to the front lines in rental cars? Will anyone have a credit card?
Three hours to charter a plane and then three hours to get Libyan permission and transportation to gp to the scene? This is nuts.

How convenient that Panetta and Dempsey were already at the white house to meet with Obama while the attack took place. Were they there to monitor a planned operation and to make sure there was no interference with its running by those outside the loop, like AFRICOM? AFRICOM sent a drone to watch. Oops! When Dempsey found that out he sacked the AFRICOM commander. Sounds almost like a DOD operation was being run against CIA.
Let´s connect another dot: Last month CENTCOM commander General Mattis barred Kam Air from military contracts in Afghanistan for smuggling bulk amounts of opium OUT of Afghanistan. Mattis was immediately fired from CENTCOM. On the wires today, Kam Air has been reinstated.
Was something more than "weapons" involved in Benghazi? Weapons get shipped from Libya to Turkey, but what is on the planes on their way IN to libya? Google "libya drug trafficking." Uh oh!

I too want to hear from those who were there and who and how they got out. Why did the "CIA security" components leave without taking the two Seals?
Why were the Seals unarmed while at the Consulate. They had no weapons when they left the Consulate compound and headed for he CIA compound, but picked them up along the road. If they only had a 20 minute fight, the did some massive devastation during that time, killing more than 80 insurgents. Even the enemy was appalled at the amount of damage only two men were able to inflict on their forces before they "lit up" the enemy exposing their position allowing a rocket to take them out.
Panetta infuriated me on Face the Nation(?)when he said, "this wasn´t a 911 call when you get there in minutes." What he didn´t say was "all we had was seven hours." These nitwits all the way up to the WH are despicable.

Please re-read #3, for he get´s to the crux of the issue and pulls the covers off Panetta and Dempsey. Dempsey speaks to the nearest armed assets of AFRICOM being in Djibouti...what he does not detail is what if any carrier group was in or transiting the Med or Red Sea during this terror attack, which by definition involves aircraft up to protect the group, which could have be ordered into an offensive mode. What assets were available at US air installation in Italy and Turkey?
It boils my blood that any security personnel were pulled from Tripoli to help in Benghazi cuz they had reports Tripoli was being targeted...Why weren´t the Marines immediately dispatched to Tripoli AND Benghazi, and why wasn´t Benghazi rockin with multiple supersonic fly overs even as armed aircraft was deployed!?!

There are two things wrong with different statements made by the White House and the CIA, State Department et al. The first why Hillary was NOT asked the reason for changing the Benghazi attack to a spontaneous rabble rousing attack generated by the anti Muslim video.Even the Libyan Head of Government stated publically that it was an affilate of Al Quada. Obama a week or so before Benghazi had boasted about killing OBL.Presidential vote coming up Barry needed extra leverage.Al Quada battled on and off for 5 to 6 hours determined to kill the US ambassador and other consulate personnel. It was reorted that the Benghazi attacks were being watched by the WH and heads of other departments. The Second question to ask Hillary who gave the order or command NOT to assist the consulate defenders. The lap dog Panetta did announce the next day that planes and armed personnel etc were too far away. What absolute rubbish . Help certainly would have MADE A DIFFERENCE Hillary.A few low flying F16´s would have nade a big difference. These jets stationed at Sicily 15 to 25 minutes away. The Ambassaor and personnel could have been saved. Most other countries would have issued a court martial,.

Number 8 hits the nail on the head. Dempsey is the typical kind of general officer today who lacks courage to speak truth to power. He´s nothing more than a yes man suited out to look like a NYC hotel doorman. He will kiss up to the administration and then magically will retire, let´s say sometime around 2015. Thank you for your service to our nation General Dempsey. You are the perfect role model for the next generation of a--kissing officers.

#31, you have the players mixed up...4-star General Ward was the first commander of AFRICOM until March 2011 when he was prevented from going into retirement and was reverted to a 2-star general while some trumped up charges were being reviewed. I contend he irritated the Obama crowd in two ways, first by successfully ending the hybrid structure of having a state dept career person as depty combantant commander, and second, for objecting to the lead from behind planning guidelines for Libya. Ward was replaced by Gen Ham, he of don´t ask don´t tell committee co-chairing fame. It was Ham who executed the Libya lead from behind strategy but must have had enough by the time Benghazi occurred. Gen. Ham is commander #1 is referring to...

The revelation that the government’s talking points in the wake of the Benghazi attacks were edited to reflect the concerns of a variety of federal agencies has sparked a firestorm of controversy in recent weeks. Some early reports on that email exchange created the erroneous impression that the White House was more deferential to the concerns of State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland, who sought to remove from those talking points a variety of references suggesting the Benghazi attack was the result of a coordinated act of terror. The actual interagency email exchange, released by the Obama administration on Wednesday,

DENVER — Colorado sheriffs upset with gun restrictions adopted in the aftermath of last year’s mass shootings filed a federal lawsuit Friday, challenging the regulations as unconstitutional. The lawsuit involves sheriffs from 54 of Colorado’s 64 counties, most representing rural, gun-friendly areas of the state. The sheriffs say the new state laws violate Second Amendment protections that guarantee the right to keep and bear arms. Opponents are criticizing the lawsuit as political maneuvering. The filing targets Colorado laws that limit the size of ammunition magazines and expand background checks. The regulations

WASHINGTON — Congressional Republicans, not resting with the Internal Revenue Service scandal, are moving to broaden the matter to an array of tax malfeasances and “intimidation tactics” they hope will ensnare the White House. Republican charges range from the clearly questionable to the seemingly specious, and they grow by the day. On Friday, lawmakers sought to tie the I.R.S. matter to the implementation of President Obama’s health care law, which will rely heavily on the agency. Whether they succeed holds significant ramifications for Mr. Obama,

So says one of the HHS "performance measures" detailed in an appendix to the department´s latest strategic plan. HHS´s performance measure "4.D.05" says: "Increase the percent employees on telework or on Alternative Work Schedule." Telework means working from home via phone and computer.

Obama administration officials who were in key positions on Sept. 11, 2012, acknowledge that a range of mistakes were made the night of the attacks on the U.S. missions in Benghazi, and in messaging to Congress and the public in the aftermath. The officials spoke to CBS News in a series of interviews and communications under the condition of anonymity so that they could be more frank in their assessments. They do not all agree on the list of mistakes and it's important to note that they universally claim that any errors or missteps did not cost lives and reflect "incompetence rather than malice or cover up.

In the wake of one of the worst abuses of government power in recent history, many are rushing to frame the Internal Revenue Service scandal as simply an attack on conservative activists. That view risks creating a partisan political football and misses a fundamentally scarier abuse that exceeds the scandals of Watergate or any other prior government abuse. The IRS has admitted that since May 2010 it targeted grassroots-conservative organizations that had applied for tax-exempt status, unfairly subjecting them to rigorous scrutiny due to their political leanings. Such groups were told they were required to comply with IRS requests,

"We will not negotiate over the debt limit," Lew wrote. "The creditworthiness of the United States is non-negotiable. The question of whether the country must pay obligations it has already incurred is not open to debate." Lew said that while President Obama is willing to discuss plans to reduce the nation´s deficit with Congress, those talks must be kept separate from any effort to raise the nation´s debt cap.

The lawmaker leading the charge to investigate the Benghazi terror attack on Friday subpoenaed the co-author of a report that slammed the State Department but didn´t interview Hillary Clinton. House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) formally demanded that retired ambassador Thomas Pickering submit to being deposed by the committee next Thursday. The subpoena comes in the wake of a series of acrimonious public exchanges this week between the two men. Issa didn´t issue a subpoena to former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Michael Mullen, who co-authored the Benghazi report with Pickering.
