Senate plan would give Napolitano
the final say on border security

The Hill [Washington, DC], by Alexander Bolton

Under a bipartisan Senate framework, Democrats say, Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano would have final say over whether the border is secure enough to put 11 million illegal immigrants on a path to citizenship. If Napolitano does not provide the green light for putting illegal immigrants on a pathway to citizenship, the responsibility for judging whether the metrics for border security have been met will be given to her successor. The early debate over immigration reform has yielded two thorny questions: What metrics will be used to determine whether the goals for

Read it and weep folks. How can Republicans be so pathetically incompetent. Rubio is making a horrible mistake.

Yes, of course they would. Giving Napolitano the final say means there will be NO border security.

So to recap - the woman who ALSO violated Federal Immigration laws at the behest of the glorious Obama...

Now gets to make up her own laws?

And I thought irony was over-rated...

I wouldn´t let this "woman" have the final say on what I was having for dinner. Arizona was glad to see her go, & Brewer take over.

Rubio is neither dumb nor naive, nor is he making a mistake. He knows EXACTLY what he is doing, and he went on Rush to lie about it to him and to us. If Napolitano makes the determination when the border is secure, she will declare it secure on day one and Obama will begin passing out free citizenship tickets to illegals.

Rubio is frantically trying to sell out America to the illegals. Why he is doing it is for someone else to answer. The fact that he IS doing it is there for all of us to witness. He is a liar and a snake.

#4..Rubio is exposing the democrats..there it is out front and in the open for all to see.
Republicans want the border secured first..democrats do not.
Let´s cool it a little and let it play out.

In the name of calm consideration and collective effort I think it only prudent that Janet Reno should also be on that committee.

From the article: "even with the trigger endorsed by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), a member of the Gang of Eight, the Senate framework would grant immediate amnesty to 11 million illegal immigrants." - Rosemary Jenks, NumbersUSA.

Appears Marco is flat out lying, because what Jenks is saying, is that on day one, they literally receive amnesty. Rubio´s triggers, at that point, become useless and impossible. And he fully knows this. The RINO.

If the Stupid Party allows any law to go through that gives Napolitano the final say on border security, before the Republicans figure out what happened, Napolitano will have 10 million or more of the legalized aliens registered as Democrat voters.

Frontpage editors are pleased to announce the winner of our essay contest launched on April 5, 2013: “Inside Every Liberal is a Totalitarian Screaming to Get Out.” (Snip) Inside the Progressive Mind By N. A. Halkides The Progressive believes in precisely two things: his own magnificence and the constructive power of brute force. In combination, they lead him naturally from the role of pestiferous busybody to brutal dictator. Where the productive man dreams of the things he might create if only left alone by his fellows, the Progressive dreams of the world he could

If in any of these situations even one person of influence had adhered to the basic tenets of liberalism all of these scandals could have been avoided. "When you grow government this big, these kinds of scandals are inevitable, and (President Obama) bears the responsibility for that," Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal told a group of Virginia Republicans over the weekend. Other conservatives are echoing this view -- that the scandals embroiling the administration undermine Obama´s push for an activist "big government." I guess when you are a hammer, everything looks like a nail. For the GOP, anything that

The Justice Department did more than seize a Fox News reporter´s emails while suggesting he was a criminal "co-conspirator" in a leak case -- it did so under one of the most serious wartime laws in America, the Espionage Act. It´s the same law used by the Nixon administration to go after The New York Times and Daniel Ellsberg over the leak of the Pentagon Papers. It´s the law used to charge the Rosenbergs, American communists, for allegedly passing secret information to the Soviet Union -- they were executed for the offense in 1953. In one of the most fiery interviews on Fox News Channel, Megyn Kelly took on the attorney for Kermit Gosnell, the abortion doctor convicted of murdering three babies and manslaughter of a woman. Gosnell was sentenced to more than three consecutive life sentences after performing hundreds of late-term abortions. On America Live, Jim McMahon continued to defend his client against the horrific details of his crimes. Kelly started the interview saying, “We don’t tar the attorney with the sins of the client.” McMahon said Gosnell was “disappointed and upset” over the verdict.

Impeaching President

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Several days ago some fringe “conservatives” mentioned the idea of impeaching President Obama. For reasons as obvious as they are numerous, that is a terrible idea. Saying that is like throwing chum out to the worst conservatives, the ones who act like liberals, the ones who are all angry instinct, who rather than strategize their way to victory would rather sweep the pieces off the table and throw a tantrum on the floor. Serious and effective conservatism demands putting facts and reason above emotion and hysteria. Some comments concerning potential impeachment are so

Sen. Harry Reid said Wednesday that he will push to confirm more judges to the federal appeals court in Washington, D.C., after that court ruled earlier this year that President Obama’s broad use of recess appointment powers was unconstitutional. “You have a majority in that court that is wrecking havoc in the country. For the first time in 230 years, they ruled the president can’t make a recess appointment, so yes there is a crisis,” Mr. Reid, the chamber’s leader, said on the Senate floor as he begged for quick action on more of the president’s judicial nominees.

Former Rep. Anthony Weiner, whose career in public life came to an abrupt end when he sent lewd pictures to a college student on Twitter, jumped back into politics on Wednesday by announcing a bid for mayor of New York City. “Look, I’ve made some big mistakes and I know I’ve let a lot of people down,” the Democrat said in a 2-minute video announcing his bid. “But I’ve also learned some tough lessons. I’m running for mayor because I’ve been fighting for the middle class and those struggling to make it for my entire life.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa said embattled IRS official Lois Lerner waived her Fifth Amendment rights and will be hauled back to appear before his panel again. The California Republican said Lerner’s Fifth Amendment right to avoid self-incrimination was voided when she gave an opening statement this morning denying any wrongdoing and professing pride in her government service. “When I asked her her questions from the very beginning, I did so so she could assert her rights prior to any statement,” Issa told POLITICO. “She chose not to do so — so she waived.”

Former Democratic National committee chairman Howard Dean considers the controversy over Benghazi a “joke” and “silly.” “Benghazi is a laughable joke,” Dean proclaimed twice in a discussion with Republican National Committee communications chairman Sean Spicer last week. “With all due respect, governor, when four Americans die serving this country, that’s not a joke, sir,” Spicer responded. “Oh, stop it,” said Dean. The former Democratic presidential candidate also said that there were “no serious questions being asked about Benghazi” and brushed it off as an effort by Republicans to score political points.
