Ravens Quarterback Drops
Big Ol’ F-Bomb On Live TV
After Super Bowl Victory

Immediately after his team’s nail-biting Super Bowl victory against the San Francisco 49ers, Baltimore Ravens quarterback Joe Flacco dropped a big ol’ celebratory f-bomb while hugging his teammates amidst a sea of confetti. “F****’ awesome!” Flacco shouted within earshot of the CBS boom mic, as he embraced teammate Marshal Yanda. Why is this news? Because evidently the two-second delay wasn’t working on CBS? Or they let it slide because, well… dude just won the Super Bowl. Congrats to Baltimore fans. Watch below, via CBS (the f-bomb in question gets dropped at around the 1:05 mark):

Comments:
If our culture isn´t dead its well on its way. What else would you expect then our own pathetic Vice President paves the way for such crass, vulgar behavior. This is the entire article.

CBS´s coverage of what turned out to be a very exciting football game was the worst imaginable.

My wife and I heard it when he said it. What did they expect when they´re following around a bunch of men who just won the Super Bowl? That´s what the 7 second delay is for.

Compared to the endless performance of the slut, this was a moment unscripted and understandable.

It´s the way men (and some women) talk in many environments...the problem is cameras and mikes in everyone´s face--whether its football, golf or the battle field--and then the expectation that the environment meets with someone´s definition of political correctness...

I´m with #5. This is a complete waste of bandwidth, and I just made it worse.

Sorry!

1. Well, it was about 95% empty, pointless "spectacle" and a few percent football. Too bad.

2. W-a-a-y-y-y too much "Lookit me!" thug preening going on, not just in this game, but all across the NFL. But -- the NBA is even worse [don´t watch, but get exposed to occasional clips looking fruitlessly for something on Sportscenter, etc.]. Uhhh, guys? If you´re down 21 points, and you manage to make a catch or a tackle or a sack, pretend to be an adult with some perspective. Because guess what? There have been 50,000 other catches in the NFL. 5,000 sacks. Oh, and you´re still down 21, you moron. And the scoreboard number matters more than the name on the back of your jersey. ´K? And as a college coach once said, "Act like you´ve been there before."

[Wish Coach Lombardi had been cloned, and the clones turned loose on these less-than-no-class jerks.]

3. Tip for play-by-play guys and "color" guys especially: there´s something much worse than dead air, and it´s deadening air. Yes, Phil, Yes, Troy, he went off right tackle to the 32 yard line. We all just saw it on our 46-inch Hi-Def TVs, and your partner just told us what we saw as we saw it. Shut up! And go learn some basic English.

OP: The US is not one culture. Of course, the Tasteless Media vomit The Tasteless Subculture all over the rest of us, just as they do the PC Leftist Narrative, rather than honest information, which, admittedly, is more work than ripping-and-reading the DNC/Jarrett/Soros talking points.

The only 2 second delay is actually 20 seconds from a Lib´s ears to their brain.

Hey, I worked in an office culture where that word was part of almost EVERY sentence spoken by some supervisors. Who is kidding who here ?
´F´ and the "D" word ( DARN ) are now interchangeable and the first is used 100 times more than the second in everyday life.

#5´s attack on the OP reminds me of the days when that kind of discourse used to be forbidden here at L.Com. I think the rule still exists, but maybe not enforced?

That being said, I agree with #2.

Reply 11 - Posted by: Emerson, 2/4/2013 12:40:13 PM     (No. 9157692)

Those who complain about articles posted almost never post any articles themselves.

And nasty attacks on poster´s opinions are not worthy of this salon.

If you doubt me, have a look in Search where OP has posted 100 articles since January 31.

#5 - 0.

Which one keeps a site like this going?

I´m really enjoying these comments!

No need to be rude, #5. BTW, who hasn´t heard, or even contributed to, discourse of that nature?

Reply 14 - Posted by: retiree, 2/4/2013 1:28:32 PM     (No. 9157795)

It might be commomplace in every day life but that doesn´t mean that everyone likes to hear it. It wasn´t too many years ago that manners existed. Today though, if men and women alike aren´t down to that level, they are the odd ones.
I was raised in a housefull of boys and never once did I hear that kind of language. Our mother would have washed their mouth out with lye soap. My dad did swear sometimes but never the way they talk today.

Reply 15 - Posted by: SoCalGal, 2/4/2013 1:41:44 PM     (No. 9157833)

Relativism - "everyone does it", "we hear it everywhere", "we probably do it" - seems antithetical on this site, where I have always thought self-control and decency were admired and encouraged.

Are we now going over to the other side?

OP was entitled to her opinion. A courteous disagreement would have sufficed. A blanket slam of her posting was unwarranted.

Reply 16 - Posted by: veritas, 2/4/2013 1:42:20 PM     (No. 9157836)

The error of thinking something that´s commonplace or acceptable in one circumstance makes it acceptable in all places is exposed when suggesting that a useful material like... "fertilizer" be spread on our Thanksgiving tables.

Reply 17 - Posted by: farmwife, 2/4/2013 1:59:33 PM     (No. 9157870)

I don´t use that kind of language and I don´t want it in my home. However, I presume the young man in question cleans up his language in polite society, and I will not pretend I´m shocked to hear the word in venues where it has become acceptable.

The article asks "Why is this news?" Some people seem to think it is not. Whatever it it, it found its way to the Drudge Report.

For me, there are two essential questions about what happened, neither of which we know the answer to:

1. Did he know his comments would be broadcast; and/or

2. Did the CBS censor -assuming there is one- deliberately allow this remark to get through?

Reply 19 - Posted by: BuckeyeRon, 2/4/2013 2:10:28 PM     (No. 9157898)

Yes, #20! Caring to clean up ones language in polite society or in mixed company or in the home or presence of someone who would be mortified by your language is the essence of being mannerly...

Reply 20 - Posted by: lalo, 2/4/2013 2:22:13 PM     (No. 9157922)

It´s understandable to disagree with the poster, but why attack her? She´s expressing a conservative viewpoint, after all. I agree with No. 12-14.

Reply 21 - Posted by: Hammock, 2/4/2013 3:17:08 PM     (No. 9158053)

I heard it, but it was barely audible and was Flacco talking to his teammate. It would have been nice if he hadn´t used the word; it would have been nice if the word had been bleeped, but to me it would have been nicer if the youngsters in the audience hadn´t seen the interminable line of dancing dominating mock-prostitutes.

Reply 22 - Posted by: SoCalGal, 2/4/2013 3:56:34 PM     (No. 9158141)

He was the quarterback for the winning team, on his way to be given the MVP award. The likelihood that there would be a camera with sound nearby was in the very high 90th percentile.

With greatness comes responsibility.

Pro-life groups argue that Attorney General Eric Holder’s Justice Department has been assiduous in its efforts to prosecute pro-life advocates who (legally) counsel women outside of abortion clinics, but considerably less dogged in prosecuting the abortionists inside — and they are pointing to a recent revelation as a possible reason why. Watchdog.org reports: In October, Watchdog.org published Fulton County tax records showing Holder’s wife, Dr. Sharon Malone Holder – an obstetric and gynecological doctor at Foxhall OB/GYN in Washington, D.C. – and her sister, Margie Malone Tuckson,

In the midst of all the big debates happening in Washington right now, one that’s getting less media attention is the immigration reform being taken up by Congress. The bill has divided Republicans and conservative commentators, with some of the latter offering dire warnings for the party’s future if it happens. California congressman Rana Rohrabacher is none too happy with his party taking up this mantle, saying on Wo*****Daily Radio that Marco Rubio and other immigration backers are using “weasel words” to deceive the public, and declaring that if House Speaker John Boehner allows the vote, then

Texas Gov. Rick Perry, who stumbled out of the GOP presidential primary gates in 2012, appears poised for a revival in the upcoming 2016 primaries, according to key congressional aides and members who are already sizing up the Republican field. Perry joins Sens. Rand Paul and Marco Rubio as the Republicans most likely to win the nomination, according to the aides, several of whom were involved in the past two presidential elections, and a handful of members including a key Senate conservative. Missing from the list: New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who the insiders said is too blunt

The House last week voted to restrict implementation of the 2010 New START arms treaty with Russia until the Obama administration outlines its plans for nuclear cuts. The restriction is contained in the fiscal 2014 defense authorization bill that passed the House on Friday by a vote of 315 to 107. Section 1052 of the bill limits the Pentagon and Energy Department from spending any funds on nuclear forces reduction until two conditions are met. The limits would be lifted only after the Pentagon submits a plan required in law that outlines strategic nuclear cuts under New START.

The Muslim Lawyers Association in Johannesburg has called for the arrest and prosecution of President Obama for war crimes when he arrives in South Africa on June 29, the nonprofit said in a statement. The MLA has submitted a 600-plus-page request to the Office of the National Director of Public Prosecution to arrest the U.S. president, the South African daily newspaper The Times reported. According to the report, the MLA mainly objects to Mr. Obama’s drone program, which it says unfairly targets Muslim civilians. “The complaint, dubbed the ‘Obama Docket’ encourages South Africa to take seriously its

Five months into his second term, allies and enemies are as confounded as ever about who President Obama really is. Is he the dyed-in-the-wool liberal that his biggest supporters and critics suggest? Or is he a pragmatic, even cynical, politician who cares more for his popularity than taking risks for his ideological goals or living up to his rhetoric? Even in the short period since his reelection, Obama has provided evidence to support conflicting interpretations. His efforts to pass immigration reform, the unsuccessful push for stricter gun controls and tax hikes on high earners buttress the case for Obama-as-ideologue.
