| One of President Obama’s greatest political strengths is his ability to convince people that he understands them not in the abstract, but through shared experiences. You have to struggle to get by? Boy, does he know what that’s like. You’ve had bad experiences with your health insurer? He had to sue his mother’s insurer over improperly denied coverage. You’re a gun enthusiast? Hey, he goes shooting all the time! Obama used such biography-based narratives to great effect in 2008 and 2012. Sometimes they are true, or at least based in truth.

As a Certified Sporting Clays instructor for nigh on to a dozen years I can tell you this about that picture of the boy Obama shootin´ his over and under:
If I was coaching somebody with that kind of stance while shootin´, I´d tell him that a shooter he´d make a good cupcake baker. With his weight that far back on his trailin´ foot and the butt that high up on his skinny shoulder, he´d never hit a double.
If you don´t know what I just said, you´re in the same boat as the boy livin´ in the White House.

If nothing else, the smoke was put into the photo so they could point to it and say that it proves that he actually fired the weapon rather than him just posing with it.

If Obama thought that he could get away with it, he would confiscate every gun now held by law abiding citizens. Then only criminals and crazy people would have guns. Obama is out to destroy all the traditions of the country, and the 2nd Amendment is only one of them.

Rhode Island Democratic Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse has apologized for remarks Monday in which he linked Oklahoma "cyclones" to climate change while berating Republicans for their stance on the issue -- around the time a massive tornado killed dozens in that state. A Whitehouse spokesman said Tuesday the politically charged remarks were pre-written as part of the senator’s weekly Senate floor speech on climate change. “Tragically and unbeknownst to the senator at the time, a series of tornadoes were hitting Oklahoma at the same moment he gave his remarks,” the spokesman said.

WASHINGTON – The Internal Revenue Serviced scandal today spread further within the White House and closer to President Obama. White House spokesman Jay Carney today disclosed that Obama’s chief of staff, Dennis McDonough, and other top White House officials had advance warning that the IRS was targeting conservative groups. The Washington Post on Monday reported that Obama’s Department of Justice was investigating journalists before they started wiretapping the Associated Press – for one, Fox News correspondent James Rosen in 2010. Their headline wasn´t "Obama Team Also Spied on Fox News." Fox wasn´t in the headline, on A-1 or on A-12, where the story continued. The wheels came off the Obama administration yesterday. We learned of a startling assault on freedom of the press by the Department of Justice, following the revelation last week of the unprecedented information-gathering foray by that department against The Associated Press. Then, a few minutes later, the Justice Department’s inspector general released a report declaring that the US attorney in Arizona used the leak of a confidential memo to try to discredit a whistleblower in the notorious “gun-walking” scandal known as Fast and Furious (which got two federal agents killed). The leak was called “egregious.”

WASHINGTON – A top IRS official in the division that reviews nonprofit groups will invoke the Fifth Amendment and refuse to answer questions before a House committee investigating the agency’s improper screening of conservative nonprofit groups. Lois Lerner, the head of the exempt organizations division of the IRS, won’t answer questions about what she knew about the improper screening – or why she didn’t reveal it to Congress, according to a letter from her defense lawyer, William W. Taylor 3rd. Lerner was scheduled to appear before the House Oversight committee Wednesday.

Stuart Varney said this morning on "Varney & Co." that one of his producers was given a questionnaire with some surprisingly intrusive questions on it when he switched doctors. One of the questions was whether he/she was concerned about unsecured weapons in the home. Another asked whether he/she was "in a relationship in which you have been physically hurt or are you afraid of your partner?"
