Pistol packing preacher instructs
teachers how to pack heat

BEAUMONT, Texas- As gunfire echoed through the woods along a remote road on the outskirts of Orange, a man of God preached the gospel of good shooting. “My name is James McAbee,” said the firearms instructor. “And I’m known as the pistol packing pastor.” McAbee, a good-natured guy who loves God and loves guns, runs the Lighthouse Worship Center near Lamar University in Beaumont. But he also runs a business on the side teaching people who want to obtain concealed handgun permits.

Lotsa fingers on triggers (Rule Three)

And plenty of firearms directed at the camera (Rule Two)

But otherwise, I enjoyed the article.

One of the bright spots to me among this nonsensical gun debate is women signing up to learn how to shoot and get carry permits. One of the fastest ways to stop a rapist is a slug between the eyes.

Of course the left will sob over the perp not getting his day in court or the perp should just be wounded to disable the threat. You can´t shoot these criminals too many times or face charges yourself.

My Pastor carries as do many others during our several services per week. We have had Concealed Carry Classes in our Church several times now and have about 50 licensed people in the congregation. I carry every Sunday and Pastor asks me every Sunday if I am armed.

It´s the feeling among Pastors that I know that Churches are on the list of the deranged. I agree. A deranged gunman will not get far in our place.

Ah, a man of God who stands for truth and courage, instead of rolling over in cowardice to make excuses for criminals.

Remember, Jesus said, "Blessed are the peacemakers," not "Blessed are the pacifists." People willing to defend the helpless are acting in the highest traditions of Christianity. "Turning the other cheek" when someone strikes you is not the same as turning the other cheek when someone attacks a child and you can do something effective to prevent or stop it.

Country singer Josh Gracin was in Washington on Thursday night to perform at the Ninth Annual Night of Heroes Gala, and as badly as he may have wanted to, he wasn’t allowed talk politics in an interview with The Hill.“I’m very political, almost to where I get in trouble with my record label not to post anything [on Facebook],” the former American Idol finalist said. Gracin’s handler quickly stepped in, nodding to the recording device in my hand and helpfully reminding him that he was on the record.

The Obama Administration fought to keep a search warrant for James Rosen’s private e-mail account secret, arguing to a federal judge that the government might need to monitor the account for a lengthy period of time. The new details are revealed in a court filing detailing a back and forth between the Justice Department and the federal judges who oversaw the request to search a Gmail account belonging to Rosen, a reporter for Fox News. A 2009 article Rosen had written about North Korea sparked an investigation; Ronald C. Machen, Jr., the U.S. Attorney who is prosecuting Stephen Jin-Woo Kim,

As Democrats and the media continue to hammer Virginia lieutenant governor hopeful E.W. Jackson for his past comments on social issues, the Christian minister says he is battling what he calls the “mainstream media’s caricature” of him. In an email sent to The Daily Caller this week, the running mate to Republican gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli said “every one of those comments has a context and were spoken in my role as a minister, not as a candidate.” In particular, the black Republican took issue with the media’s outrage over his comments on abortion.

Massachusetts Senate hopeful Gabriel Gomez is outraged at how his Democratic contender, Rep. Ed Markey, is portraying him, accusing Ed Markey of low-blow politics that cross ethical lines. “You know, I’ve got four young kids and they gotta sit there and gotta see an ad with their dad, who’s a SEAL, who served honorably, talk to anybody I served with … and for him to be as dirty and low, pond scum, to like put me up there next to bin Laden, he’s just gotta be called what he is. That simple,” said Mr. Gomez, the GOP nominee

Politico reporter Jonathan Martin is jumping from the six-year-old politics site to become the national political correspondent for the New York Times. A release from the New York Times says this is a big move: The job is a storied and special one at The Times, and has been home to such giants as Robin Toner, Adam Nagourney, Rick Berke, and, of course, R. W. Apple. As big a move as it is for the New York Times, it may be double for Politico, for Martin offers the sort of reporting that the site badly needs.

We’ve seen a number of disastrous appearances by administration figures and a couple outstanding ones from State Department whistleblowers. Here’s some tips for those who follow: 1. Don’t lie. As I pointed out earlier today, Eric Holder both in writing to a court and in testimony to the House created some real questions about his role in the James Rosen subpoena. Other conservatives spotted a more egregious statement (if in fact he signed off on the affidavit): “In regard to potential prosecution of the press for the disclosure of material, this is not something I’ve ever been involved in,

President Barack Obama told graduating midshipmen at the Naval Academy on Friday that the nation needs them to "project power across the oceans" and vowed to continue to fight for military resources for their missions in the face of deep federal budget cuts. Speaking through a cold and building rain, the president told the 1,047 graduates and nearly 36,000 attendees gathered for the Naval Academy´s 163rd commencement that they represent an institution that has maintained the nation´s trust at a time when Americans have lost faith in other organizations. The public got its first look Thursday at Lois Lerner, who has gone from faceless IRS bureaucrat to the face that launched what feels like 1,000 congressional hearings and conspiracy theories. But it was only a brief sighting since she didn´t stay long at a House hearing to further probe her role in how some IRS workers came to target conservative groups seeking tax-exempt status. (Snip)She did make a short statement to declare her innocence, however. Lerner´s motivation was more transparent than much of what the IRS has done in connection with this controversy. When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.

President Obama on Thursday nominated Victoria Nuland, a State Department official involved in the editing of the administration´s talking points on Benghazi, to be the next assistant secretary of state for European and Eurasian affairs. Nuland, a career foreign service officer who was until recently State´s top spokesperson, had long been expected to be nominated the post to replace Philip Gordon, who Obama picked to serve as Middle East coordinator for the National Security Council. Nuland´s nomination -- which requires Senate confirmation -- could come under scrutiny from Republicans who see her as playing a central role in shaping

Conservative radio host Mark Levin is very skeptical of the idea that President Obama had absolutely no idea about the IRS tea party targeting before the story broke in the news mere weeks ago. Levin declared adamantly that it is a “flat-out, bald-faced lie” that Obama didn’t know beforehand, citing prior reports by a few conservative news outlets picking up on the news well before the 2012 presidential election. Levin said, “I don’t believe for two seconds that Obama wasn’t aware of this.”

Anthony Weiner’s New York mayoral candidacy was only made more improbable today after he revealed that he visited a Houston psychiatric facility following his resignation from Congress in 2011. Haunted by scandal surrounding his sexually explicit online communications with women, the Democratic former congressman sought treatment for his compulsive behavior from mental health professionals at the Gabbard Center. According to its website, the facility provides “3-day outpatient psychiatric evaluation,” particularly to “professionals who are in personal or professional crises.” While Weiner did not disclose
