WASHINGTON - President Barack Obama said on Sunday more tax revenue would be needed in the coming years to reduce the U.S. deficit but raising tax rates was not a key issue. "I don´t think the issue right now is raising rates," Obama said in an interview on CBS. "There is no doubt we need additional revenue, coupled with smart spending reductions in order to bring down our deficit. And we can do it in a gradual way so that it doesn´t have a huge impact," he said. At the beginning of the year Obama pushed through legislation

It is now obvious that dramatic increase in Medicaid spending driven by 0bamacare is the key culprit. Zippy and the ´Rats - aided by the sycophantic MSM will go to any extent to prevent the public dialogue on this issue to come to this point.

There is a way to get more "revenue" Skippy. Get the federal government´s foot off the neck of the economic producers so that they might expand the economy thereby creating more jobs, read taxpayers, who will enrich the treasury as a consequence. It worked in the 80s when tax revenues doubled. Disabuse yourself of the cockeyed notion that the economy is some sort of zero sum game and let the rising tide lift all boats, to coin a phrase.

Your bottom up, middle out approach is failing miserably.

In other words...

More money needs to be taken from taxpayers for the government to spend...aka redistribution.

In the meantime, the Obama Administration is going to do all it can to punish the productive and strangle the economy with regulations.

So a good starting point would be for them to pay what they owe.

There isn´t enough money on Earth to satisfy our federal government.

If Washington gets more it will spend more. For years they have not fixed any deficit problems, entitlement problems, or passed a budget.

Nearly every quasi-federal entity is also losing money in huge amounts. Post Office, student loans, etc. The loan guarantees are immense.

Off the books liabilities, such as pensions, are ignored. They are not considered in the deficit or debt.

Even with a reform it would take two years just to install honest accounting.

If these were normal times, across the board budget cuts would be executed, like 5% per yr., until the books are balanced.

If these were normal times, killers in Chicago would get mandatory sentences instead of 93% getting probation.

Poor old Washington has a really bad case of worms. He eats like a pig always hungry for more, more ,more yet he´s getting so thin you can count his ribs. He needs to be wormed or we will have to put him down. It´s depressing to hear the constant whining to ´feed me more´. He has already eaten everything in sight except Grandfathers Social security check. Sadly we may have to take him out back and shoot him.

COLLEGE PARK, Md. - Federal forecasters are predicting yet another busy hurricane season. Thursday´s outlook calls for 13 to 20 named storms, seven to 11 that strengthen into hurricanes and three to six that become major hurricanes. The prediction by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration is more than what is considered an average Atlantic season. Last year was the third-busiest on record with 19 named storms. Ten became hurricanes and two were major storms, with winds over 111 mph. That included Sandy, which caused $50 billion in damage even though it lost

Islamist militants have staged twin suicide car bombings on an army base and a French-run uranium mine in Niger, killing at least 20 people in retaliation for the country´s military involvement in neighbouring Mali. Niger´s Defence Minister Mahamadou Karidjo said the last Islamist was neutralised at the army base and denied early reports that a suicide attacker had held young army recruits hostage. The attacks come just four months after al-Qa´ida linked militants seized a desert gas plant in neighbouring Algeria in a siege that left 38 hostages dead, also in retaliation against the intervention in Mali.

WASHINGTON — Yemen welcomed President Barack Obama´s decision Thursday to lift a moratorium on transferring prisoners from Guantanamo Bay to the Gulf country. Obama announced the decision in a major speech outlining a new bid to close the "war on terror" prison, saying history will "cast a harsh judgment" on the offshore detention program and those who failed to end it. He said he would lift a moratorium in place on transfers of Yemeni detainees to their homeland, name a new envoy to handle the transfers, and ordered the Pentagon to designate a site in the United States

NEW YORK - A company that promised sightseer tours to the Bronx that included a New York City "ghetto" has stopped the bus rides under protest from an outraged neighborhood. Real Bronx Tours, which took mostly European tourists from Manhattan to see life in the South Bronx "from a safe distance," issued a statement this week saying it would immediately cease all tours there. Three times a week, the $45 ride took visitors past food-pantry lines, a housing project and a park a guide described as a pickpocket hangout. Tourists were told they´d get a look at

Good for your body; terrible for the planet. Greek yogurt has seen an astronomical growth in sales over the past half decade — but it may be taking an unexpected toll on the environment. (Snip) Not only would that be illegal, but whey decomposition is toxic to the natural environment, robbing oxygen from streams and rivers. That could turn a waterway into what one expert calls a "dead sea," destroying aquatic life over potentially large areas. Spills of cheese whey, a cousin of Greek yogurt whey, have killed tens of thousands of fish around the country in recent years.

The dam protecting the IRS scandal began to crack today when Lois Lerner, the IRS official who announced, and apologized for, the improper singling out of conservative-leaning organizations by IRS employees under her command, announced through her criminal defense lawyer that she will not testify as scheduled tomorrow before the House Oversight Committee. Rather, she will assert her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination. This marks an enormous milestone in the IRS investigation. It can now be taken as more or less established that crimes were committed by Obama administration employees. Lerner’s lawyer tried to minimize the significance

When you get right down to it, the political targeting and stalling of tax-exempt applications by the IRS was an effort to defund the Tea Party. Rick Santelli, one of the Tea Party founders and my CNBC colleague, was the first to make this point. I’ve taken it a step further: The IRS was taking the Tea Party out of play for the 2012 election, as it looked to avoid a repeat of 2010 and another Tea Party landslide. There are a lot of numbers out there.
